Some tips:
Troubleshoot your first drone, and fix it (you replaced the FC and the ESC, probably only the FC was broken). You will crash again and again and again (BIS x 10K), so the solution may not be "go buy another two" each time. This hobby is 30% fixing stuff. 30% acquiring pilot skills, 30% might be racing or video editing and the last 10% is watching other guys either in real life or YouTube.
Use a Bat-Safe box to charge your lipos.
You already heard of conformal coating. Do it if you are flying on snow.
My worst crash: I lost video while I was maybe 200m away. I took off the googles, switch to Horizon mode, and tried to LOS it back to me. But because the sun blocked my view, I confused my drone (it was a tiny but powerful Armattan Gecko) with a bird. So go figure… it wasn’t reacting the way I was directing it. My buddy, who was probably tracking the right "bird" was giving me direction (probably the correct ones) that didn’t made any sense to me… because I was looking at something else. Imagine the frustration once I recognized I was trying to control a bird for the last 10 seconds (felt like 10 minutes). F*&k!

If ur drone falls for example in water or someting like that u can just take every single part and put it in rice for like 2 days and u can’t empty ur battery more than 30% in general so pay attention to not use one batterie like five minutes in a row.
If the batterie has only like 1 or even 0% just let it refresh and normaly after some time it has 5% again but u cant let it uncharged too long under 30% and if ur batteries are charged at 100% pay attention to not stock them fully loaded cause they can break if u let them too long charged or completely unchargedu can’t put the batterie on thz charger if it is still hot.
Here’s a tip, start with nano quads. Mobula, Tinnyhawk etc… I actually prefer them anyways, you can fly anywhere at anytime and they are so damn cheap!
Guys when your stuff gets wet dry it and stick it in rice. I have a tiny whoop drone that went under water I unplugged the battery rinsed it in distilled water dried it and suck it in rice for 4 days and it works perfectly
Edit You want to rinse in distilled water to get any minerals off the electronics that could corrode metal. Water has minerals but distilled water does not. Rinsing the drone or device in distilled water effectively washes away the minerals google It if this isnt clear enough or you can ask me questions it works well. It’s not mandatory to wash In distilled water but you definitely want to if you land in salt water like the ocean or something

Well yes FPV freestyle is on another level ,I have four 5 inch and been doing this for 2 years now, As i live in Sweden it’s hard to do it in the winter,At Least more than one or 2 battery packs at the time as its freking cold outside but in the summer aaa yes .
Also would do it in this order …
#. Buy a BNF quad, (Bind and fly) which is prebuilt, That way it takes the steep learning curve down a bit in the beginning. There will be a time when something goes broken but i think it’s a good middle way to start this hobby.
#. Do not purchase the best/most expensive before you know if this is something you are going to use in the long run. some will get bored after a while, Maybe due to to much hassle or anything else.
#. Also before even thinking of an FPV drone, Just buy a transmitter like a FrSky or something and a sim like Liftoff or FPV Freerider, Some transmitters may need an special sim adapter cable for the transmitter–>computer and also a sim won’t feel 100% same but it helps A lot for the first real flight and on! Teach your brain to fly on the computer first.
#. Find and spend time with others who fly FPV, Newbies or seniors in this hobby it doesn’t matter! It’s usually great people who share the same interest and you will learn alot faster if you are new to the hobby.

Well, it’s not FPV and Mavic thing. It’s manual and automatic flight mode thing. You just not quite good in flying manually. Ok for real, you can’t really able to control your aircraft by your own. You still need the autopilot from GPS/auto level which is in those DJI, Parrot thing. In my opinion, filming drone is flying camera not a flying aircraft while FPV drone is real flying. So… one needs to become a pilot not a flying camera controller in order to fly what you say FPV drone.
Ok I’ve been in FPV for like 6 months now and on forums and i’ve NEVER heard of anyone leaving batteries on a charger for a long period of time lmfao…. You thought leaving them on the charger set to storage voltage was how you store them!!??? LOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

If anyone can help clarify these drone legal questions that would be super appreciated! Been hearing such mixed results online, so confused.
1) Been hearing you’re not allowed to upload drone footage to YouTube at all because even if you’re not making money from YouTube, you’re technically still promoting footage which then counts as commercially using and you will get fined or reported. I got my drone licensed with the standard $5 fee through faa gov — not sure if this is the license to freely upload to youtube legally.
2) I see people constantly uploading videos flying illegally over the golden gate bridge for instance, do they just not care or currently of 2020, is there no way anyone can track your drone in flight or prove you were flying it after uploading to YouTube?
