What It's Like Starting A Drone Company

Meet Dwight Neptune, 22-year-old CEO and co-founder of Beagle Drones. Neptune began studying electrical engineering in high school and picked up drones as a hobby. When he and his co-founders built their first drone, it actually caught on fire because it wasn’t wired properly. The New Jersey-based company has come a long way since. Neptune dropped out of college after three semesters to work on Beagle full time. Beagle is currently in the process of raising $1 million at a $4 million valuation. Watch the video to hear more about what it’s like raising funding as a Black founder.

  3. sahil sawal on July 27, 2021 at 8:40 pm

What software do you use for building the electronics circuit of drone

  4. Free on July 27, 2021 at 8:41 pm

Ok. I just visited the website. If you were a gamer for instance, this would be the equivalent of starting a business that "designs" and sells PS2s to a market prepared to release the PS5. Understand?

  5. CryptoPapi2020 on July 27, 2021 at 8:41 pm

we need more stories like this and i’d rather support a business like this then some egotistic sport star or low life rapper ✌🏼

  6. Blaine Whitaker on July 27, 2021 at 8:42 pm

I am coming to you with my hat in my hand with a salute, I’m a 57 year old disabled a Certified mechanic and I love drones but this kind of reminds me something of Back to the Future and I’m stuck in the past. I am on the East Coast specifically in the DMV then I will see you later small stipend from the government with two less than $1,000 a month which I cannot survive off that and all I want to do is to be able to do that. Without getting technical or looking for you to divulge any of your proprietary secrets a couple ideas would go a long way. Because of my age and not growing up being a gamer of course did not help me I was into drag racing motorcycles things of that nature but I recognize that uavs are the future. I’m not looking to be an innovator I don’t have that type of Technology I just would like to be a dropshipper and that is so hard what I find out to get into that part. I don’t know if you’re going to read this but you can email me at alztiem@gmail.com (personal), or bwhit@everythingperformance.com (business), But the irony of the situation is that usually the older guy pulls the younger side up and helps him too you’re on the right track. One thing I will say I’m proud of you and your team not only because you’re young and diverse but because you’re young and diverse just like the world we live in today

  7. shaper on July 27, 2021 at 8:44 pm

DO NOT buy this! They are ripping you off! If you want a proper quad
copter consider something like the TinyHawk II ore the likes of it. They
are complete kits for half the price that fly 10 times as good. Be

Am a medical student and i also build drones .. it’s not rocket science and everyone can assembly one.
The issue with some people is they think that building drones requires deep knowledge about electricity fundamentals.. or mechanical

Nah all that isn’t nearly required.. all u need is basic knowledge of volta amps and ohms..
then just assemble 👍🏼.. cool hobby just don’t be intimidated by all that “drone tech startup theme..”

  9. jabrass on July 27, 2021 at 8:45 pm

Great to see a young tech founder doing his thing. I wonder if they’ve considered crowd funding to raise capital. They would probably be able to get better terms than with a VC.

For $400 you can buy a legitimate BNF (Bind and Fly) or RTF (Ready to Fly) Modern FPV Race/Freestyle quadcopter from
PyroDrone.com, HeliNation.com, RaceDayQuads.com, and GetFPV.com are just some of the websites where you can buy legitimate FPV race/freestyle quadcopters Aka. "FPV Race Drones"

You can literally buy a BNF with DJI digital HD FPV with GPS for under $399 and Analog FPV for way less $ than what this guy is selling from any of these websites right now and own one made by a reputable company. I.e. Emax, GepRC, HGLRC, iFlight, FlyWoo, T-Motor, Diatone, BetaFPV, NewBeeDrone and the list goes on.

  27. J M on July 27, 2021 at 9:08 pm

can you make a video without using the word basically? I don’t think it’s humanly possible!

  28. Karos on July 27, 2021 at 9:08 pm

I have started my own business and have been planning it for 8 – 10 months (fashion, clothing brand, apparel) but so far no sales which is okay. I all want to for people to love my designs and the product. Even if I make no profit I want people to feel the brand.

  33. Jon Sprague on July 27, 2021 at 9:14 pm

That’s not a scam people build custom drones all the time. It’s a hard business and I hope he makes it. This was in September and he is being fiscally smart. No, he’s not using top of the line DJI goggles that’s part of being fiscally smart. You could however make them DJI compatible and hopefully, he does eventually. Too many consumer fans don’t understand the actual concept. This is by far the best thing for the black community on top of that. I build mine because I live in a minority community with mostly Hispanic a lot of people get jealous and they don’t understand the concept but it makes a lot of the kids curious. My drones have barometers, lidars, optical flow, the main components of an accelerometer, and a gyroscope all this stuff can be added to be extremely educational the more you get into it. Not many kids understand the use of the quadratic function and I didn’t until I realized it is a function used quite a bit in electronics it gets extremely mathematical and also is a good way to learn to program. This is based on open source technology he has every right to build these drones as long as the hardware is not under a specific license. People are so quick to judge in this business.

  34. SkidzFPV on July 27, 2021 at 9:15 pm

Dude is taking a $14 ZMR Clone, some out of date emax red bottoms, worth about $40, and toy goggles and transmitter and charging over $500. Rip off!!

I don’t get it. What is the additional value they add to the product? I don’t think that a small company like this has any chance against big Chinese players pumping out millions of drones per year. Also, they have sell drones worth millions to make any decent profit and keep the company alive.

  43. Akash Enterprises on July 27, 2021 at 9:22 pm

Drone prathap is better than this
