Urge For Military Drones In Canada And Still Using Odd Laws And Data For Recreational Use

It was interesting reading more numbers thrown out on how apparently recreational drone flyers in Canada could potential create all this havoc to justify the silly interim drone laws yet today I was watching the news on how even for the safety of Canadians the government recognizes that we need to be more modern day by embracing drone technology. Is this a good sign?

I also answer some questions such as why I am not simply flying the drone for fun despite the dumb laws if I am clearly doing it in a safe manner. There was also an interesting story in BC about mobility pricing for car drivers which made me think hopefully like with the drone laws people will see that just because something doesn’t affect you directly you should still keep an open mind as to how it affects others.

I also share a viewer letter that was received from a Canada MP named Candace Bergen which was a response about the drone laws for recreational flyers.

How often do you get to fly your Mavic?

SuperFrodo95 quoted: elsewhere – I’m a pilot and drones are the least of my concern. There are so so few of them flying around, and compared to birds, they’re almost non-existent. My engine will spontaneously explode before I hit a drone, and even then, unless it’s a heavy thing being operated commercially (a commercial operator wouldn’t be flying it where it can be hit anyway), a drone strike will likely just put a dent in the airframe. Not enough damage to cause the aircraft to crash.

When DJI drones loose GPS the go into ATTI mode and will drift with wind ect… the geese was a joke about them not under control, if i lived your way then im sorry to say I would do my safety checks and if safe to fly then I would fly.. Its more about being unsafe and stupid, its how you interpret the laws, when they say dont fly near wildlife then to me thats keep your distance and dont stress or spook them. Our laws here are not to fly over structures… well a road is a structure…
