If you’re on a mega-budget, I should make an honorary mention to the good old Phantom 3 Standard. Shoots 2.7k on a 1/2.3″ sensor but shoots 12 megapixel RAW photos just like the bigger models. Its really capable and cheap as crap now because its old, should be able to find it used on Craigslist, Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Offerup for like $250 or lower.
Mavic Mini – $400
2.7k and JPEG only but only $400 and can live in your pocket
Mavic Air 2 – $800
4K 1/2 inch sensor and REALLY bang for your buck at $800, such a good deal. 60fps as well.
Mavic 2 Pro – $1500
4K 1 inch sensor, 20 megapixel RAW photos. The holy grail, still worth it. Still worth just getting and not worth waiting on some Mavic 3 that’s ‘coming anyday’ just like the last 2 years, seriously.
Autel Evo II 6K – $1800 [NOT the 8K version please]
6K 1 inch sensor, 20 megapixel photos. More like 4K-equivalent really. Kind of weird, just got it so still testing but when you get over the odd stuff it has a GREAT picture, maybe on par with the Mavic 2 Pro, but not as intuitive, easy to fly, cool to show all the dads on the beach, or as feature rich. I’ll do a review later but so far has helped me pick up exactly 0 step-moms.
Inspire 2 + X5S camera – $8000+ Used
Shoots 5.2K RAW Video (literally filming in RAW photos)
5.2K 422 Prores and 4K Proress 4444 incase you know what that all means. Its an insanely high quality image that is mega flexible and so enjoyable just to watch ungraded b-roll with it, but man is it a pain in the butt to get out, lug around, deal with the attention and the noise it has. It’s more like a once in a while, Ace in the hole to blow something out the water or shoot Stock Footage and practice cinematography. Interchangeable lenses are really nice too.
Awesome: someone that actually cares and explains things well and to the point. Best video I’ve seen
I’d be curious to see how you feel about the capabilities of the Mini 2 now that it has 4K, the ability to shoot RAW and the drone now features Occusync… 🤔
I bought the Phantom 4 Pro V 2 , was that a mistake?
This video seems to be just about the drone camera’s & not about the drones themselves.
great video.
As a Mavic 2 Pro owner, I agree it is a phenomenal piece of kit – though my output is mostly photography rather than videography. For beginners to this aircraft it may or may not be significant to note that I did find that I had to up the in-camera sharpness by 1 point as it looked quite soft by default.
Randomly found this tutorial and I’m very surprised. It’s waay better than I expected in the beginning of the video. Subscribed! 👍
Nice Video but building an FPV Drone can be done for 100-200$, no need to spend 1000$
EXCELLENT thanks a lot
Finally someone who has answered all my questions I’m definitely now getting one
I fly fpv and might get into cinema drones at some point, would a mavic pr (the first one) at 365$ be a good deal?
I really would like the Mavic 2 Pro, but if you compare the specs and all the videos comparing these 2 drones, I say Mavic Air 2 gets a win because It is close to Mavic 2 pro and its cheap.
This video is amazing. Its the first one I watched and I feel completely ready to make a purchase off JUST this video (if I wanted to). Thank you!
Thank you! You are a professional and I appreciate your commentary. Just getting started and have Part 107 certificate. Purchased a Mavic Air 2 and love it. Thinking about moving up to Pro 2. I am still on the fence but know that the Air 2 is not going to hold me back as I have lots to learn. Watched your town reel video and you had me hooked. Great work. Thanks again.
Thank you!
Nice reference at the begining. "Behold! My stuff." 😎
What a fucking great video. One of the best presented, edited, narrated YouTube videos I’ve ever seen. Excellent work. 👏
Thank you, Mister, for the great info. I decided to finally get the Mavic 2 Pro, thanks to you.
What controller/iPhone or Smartcontroller???
I’m in the market to buy a Mavic 2 Pro and want to know if you think the Smartcontroller is worth the price – do you use it?
PS Love your advice mate 🙂
goddd i want the inspire 2 so bad
You just basically gave a drone seminar in 15 minutes on DJI’s Drones, I hope they sponsor you, I’m now getting a Mavic 2 Pro after using a Mavic Air for the last year and hopefully getting most of my major stuff ups crashes and hours searching in the wrong places due to the Find my Drone function being off and learning to use the more accurate Profile Flight log data to find my drone, I have been able to capture some stunning Video, but I have noticed the image will skew like in your comparison shots and the image quality especially in lower light is lacking, Mavic 2 Pro time.
Cheers
Thanks for all this GOOD information
@0:12 had no business being that funny ahhahaha
+1 subscriber.
Great video! I would like to have seen more on the Autel. Do you have any videos that go more in-depth on the EVO II?
You forget un important point: DJI Max altitude is software blocked to 500M because of the FAA…….Autel Evo is 800M….this is a huge difference. PLUS Mavic Pro 2 is 2 years old, which Autel is less than one
Well done the video is really good, is there anything better for photography than phantom 4 pro – mavin 2 pro?
Sweet video. This helps. Also our boy here is jacked. Respect.
Great video, I’ve flown all kinds of drones and think your advice is spot on and easy for beginners to understand 🤙🏻
Love evo II pro 6k
Quick question: buy the Smart controller with it or just stick with the one that it comes with?
chose autel ,you can’t let dji dominate the sky
thank you for your honesty, its quite refreshing in this political climate and fake news.
Liked and Subscribed! Superb content.
I think you nailed it stating the – Mavic Air 2 is entry level for commercial work. Time will tell just how viable it is. And, of course, it depends on what the work is. For professional photographers, drone imaging quality needs some perspective. Thinking an $800 photo drone should produce images similar to an $800 camera/lens combo (like a Canon EOS Rebel?)… you may be disappointed. What you’re getting is more similar to a $200 camera/lens attached to a $100 gimbal on a $400 aircraft with a $100 remote control. Expect images you’d get from a $200 camera. That said there are $200 cameras that take very good pictures/video for many folks. Just my 2¢.
Dude Great video thank you
Appreciate your perspective. Which would you recommend for backpacking non-commercial videography done by a hobbyist landscape photographer? Thanks for your opinion.
0:33 dude shows a picture of a $600 Parrot Anafi drone claiming it’s a toy.
Great review it helped a lot thanks! If im a beginer and i would like to take some quality shots of landscapes villages and mountains, and also learn to edit them in lightroom and also sell some of them. Wich drone would you recommend, the Mavic Air 2 or the Mavic 2 Pro. I need 4k with 60fps. Would the Mavic Air 2 be enough to get some real quality footage, or is the Mavic 2 Pro necessary for it? Thanks in advance.
CLEAR & CONCISE ❗️
Thanks for this! Clear and precise.. I’m thinking Mavic Air2 for me. This would be a Hobby. But I’m also in the industry so quality matters… also it’s possible I could use generic shots in commercials..
(I’m a VFX sup and Art Director in LA) this is not needed for work but would be nice to learn. Any push for the 2 Pro? Are they coming out with an update like a 3pro?
Awesome video thank you. Cleared up everything I had in question
Great video man god damn very detailed
I want to fly from a boat. Is there a waterproof drone worth considering?
why did you put the parrot anafi under the toy category??
Hey @QuickAssTutorials … 6 months later, any updates to share on this topic? Looking at starting my own Business… checking out your course now. Thanks!
San Diego baby!!!
from the thumbnail i thought it was presented by binging with babish
Just no more coarse language, bro. Your content is way too good for that.
i have a F11 PRO 4k what you think of that? i think it does really well goes really high, lots of mods and great video and picture
What about the Mavic air 1?
