I just passed my test with 85%. Facilitator was very nice and encouraging! I used an app on iPhone called “Prepware Remote Pilot” it cost $4.99 and it helped a lot, was totally worth it for me. Along with other YouTube videos.

What about for the recurring exam which is every 2 years correct? Also, do they provide material for that or is it the same as the original exam?

I have a Mavic 2 pro and I’m looking to use my drone for both things but most of my videos that will be for my YouTube channel are going to be from outside the US do I still need the FAA registration and license to post my content on YouTube do to the fact that I live in the US?

Is there any school that provides practice for the actual flying?

I am a commercial pilot with 30 years of flying airplanes, do I need a Drone license ???

  11. Pacific Realty on April 6, 2021 at 1:06 am

It worked once I typed it out as opposed to copying and pasting. Thanks again; clear concise and informative!

  12. Blaine Houser on April 6, 2021 at 1:07 am

    300$ !!! No Way!

  13. Mark Larson on April 6, 2021 at 1:08 am

Well, If you were flying over a cops house; that license would be worth ZERO !

  14. Daniel McCauley on April 6, 2021 at 1:08 am

How long did you study each day for the two weeks?

  15. Joel's Drone Adventures on April 6, 2021 at 1:09 am

  16. Juan Flores on April 6, 2021 at 1:10 am

White privledge at the FAA test center for sure 😡

  17. Dannie on April 6, 2021 at 1:11 am

Very good information. I have several FAA certificates and the test questions you described are typical government test. Well done

Just subscribed to you because of your goddamn voice. it’s STELLAR.

Don’t know if you’ve ever seen Chuck, but your voice sounds like Zachary Levi (Chuck Bartowski) . Great video! Looking to get my license and this is a great video detailing it all.

  19. Matthew Mattholew on April 6, 2021 at 1:15 am

Fuck that shit. Youre helping eliminate our freedom and yet you think you did something great. Down thumb.

Some good info, thanks! Just starting out on the path since I just recently became aware of the requirements now for earning money from flying since I needed to up my game in my videography business. So many potential customers lost because I couldn’t provide aerial footage.
I’m almost overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material that has to be learned. Luckily some transfers over from my army training.

  21. Kaden Norman on April 6, 2021 at 1:19 am

Very useful video. Thanks for taking the time to make it!

  22. Richard Lair on April 6, 2021 at 1:20 am

Can you hold a ‘recreational’ and a 107 license at the same time? Or is getting one at a time easier/better to do?

  23. legniak1 on April 6, 2021 at 1:20 am

Honestly, I don’t think I’m smart enough to pass the test 😂 it sucks you need one for a toy with a camera on it. Maybe I’ll put a go pro onto a balloon for my Ariel footage

  24. Justin Redline on April 6, 2021 at 1:25 am

That’s the Gray’s Creek Airport! That’s where I took my flight instructions for private pilot license!

  25. Bern C. Prasertsri on April 6, 2021 at 1:26 am

Yea they’d always be a disgruntled person in a neighborhood no matter what you do. If not the drone, then it’s something else. If nothing else its your face that will bother them.
I have a few documents of my own with my drone and I’m only less than 2 weeks into drones.

  27. Joseph Burton on April 6, 2021 at 1:29 am

Download RPA on IOS, go thru each section 2x read the question once and the answer twice. Take the practice test as long as you pass with a 80 go take the test. The. App is 10 bucks.

  28. furonwarrior on April 6, 2021 at 1:29 am

Omg, you don’t need to spend $300 for a class to pass the exam… There are plenty of free resources available on Youtube and on the FAA to pass the exam beyond the 70% mark.
Please don’t waste your money on a class. Use that money for your quadcopter.

What is the specific test called that I should be signing up for? Is it the Unmanned Aircraft General-Small (UAG) or is it the Unmanned General- Recurrent (UGR)?

  31. Daniel Brooker on April 6, 2021 at 1:33 am

So wait, you paid $450 total to get your drone license?

  32. audiotinker on April 6, 2021 at 1:35 am

How long is your license good for and do you have to pay to renew? Also, is there an international version and paperwork you carry for traveling to other countries?

  33. M J on April 6, 2021 at 1:35 am

I really appreciate the breakdown and the valuable information that you have passed along.

  34. Ramon Ramirez on April 6, 2021 at 1:36 am

do I need a drone to start?

  35. May Media Productions on April 6, 2021 at 1:37 am

So they give you the testing supplement book to help you with the test? or the book is the test?

  36. NMFLYER ROBBIN on April 6, 2021 at 1:38 am

do you have to have an flying test like in a pilot license for the drone license?

  37. Jimbomatic5000 on April 6, 2021 at 1:41 am

To people about to take this test. If you study only using quizlet you will fail ! I know from experience!

  38. Airhead Drone Services on April 6, 2021 at 1:42 am

I spent a total of $25 on study materials
2 paid test prep apps, 1 free, the FAA study guide, and watching several videos on areas I didn’t fully understand. Scored 95% on the first try.

  39. Pacific Realty on April 6, 2021 at 1:43 am

Thanks for an informative video! I just tried your code, and was given and "Invalid Code" message. Any suggestions?

  40. Ridi_FPV on April 6, 2021 at 1:43 am

Just signed for for my 107, got 2 weeks to study.

  41. codyoftheinternet on April 6, 2021 at 1:43 am

    Just got mine today

  44. DarkSoundLab on April 6, 2021 at 1:46 am

Since it has been 3 years since this video, have you had to retake the test to renew your certification? Was it the same or different as before? Easier/harder?

  45. Beth Tucker on April 6, 2021 at 1:47 am

Hi! Is it better to get familiar with the drone you plan on purchasing before getting licensed or is it necessary?

Also, do you recommend a videography course? I have some goals in mind and trying to organize which ones I should begin with. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks a bunch!

  46. Bruce Baker on April 6, 2021 at 1:49 am

It seems like it was easier to get my privet pilot’s license to fly a real airplane, than it is to fly a drone these days….
