Hi Jeff, just wondering on the Q 500 there is a spot for an SD card in the back of the transmitter. I never knew this is 1 of the most important things to do Before you fly. This happened to me so I am sharing this issue with all . When you loose your drone But you have a good idea where it is in the woods , I couldn’t find it heave brush, So if this SD card was in my Q 500 I would have the Exact spot where it is by using a hand held GPS So this is something Everyone has to have in before flight. I should have been told this rite from the Hobby store . Its still lost , if you have any ideas , would love to hear them. OH I now own the Typhoon H now its built in the radio.. I love all your videos.

good video but why does everyone feel it necessary to have music.

  4. Kacy Wheatley on December 19, 2020 at 10:00 pm

Hi there. Thanks for the video. Why couldn’t you calibrate the compass with the gumball off instead of having to worry about it?

  5. br011075 on December 19, 2020 at 10:06 pm

Hi Jeff, you said the gimbal calibration is
finished when the cam stop moving. But … will the text ´calibration´ on the
ST16 disappear after a successful calibration?

    HI JEFF
HAVE YOU MESSED WITH YOUR TRIM TABS

By far the best video for Calibrating the Typhoon H. Was not able to get my new H calibrated after several attempts but with the new knowledge I got from the video I hope that changes my ability to get it calibrated.

  17. Costellophoto Vegas on December 19, 2020 at 10:27 pm

2 things , probably a consistency issue, at the end of the Compass calibration shouldn’t the indicator light at the back be solid green? And when doing the calibration for Accelerometer aren’t you supposed to tip the aircraft forward twice ? BTW I was never told to face north….but the tin foil hat and standing on one leg whistling Dixie helped !

I have been having issues with craft wondering and landing recently.

Hello jeff ! Before any thing thank you your videos are great ! I brought and fly my typhoon H in miami Florida but traveled to Rio Brazil and can’t finish the Cc procedure, ever at the end i still have a (amber light) blinking together with a green, purple or red if i move the switch smar, angle or home so i can’t start the engines and take off i was in a open field and no cellphone or other electronic ! Do heard about demagnetizing procedure? Do you know how to do that?

  19. KEITH KUHN on December 19, 2020 at 10:31 pm

    HI JEFF
YUNEEC TOLD ME TO DO THE COMPASS CALIBRATION FIRST
    THEN ACCELEROMETER
    THEN GIMBLE
PS THE Y ALSO SAID YOU COULD DO THE COMPASS CALIBRATION
WITHOUT THE CAMERA ON THE DRONE.

I THINK THAT IS COOL CUZ YOU DON’T GET ALL THE
    CAMERA JITTER IN THE PROCESS.
    KEITH

Hello Jeff, I’ve heard that doing the compass calibration with the gimbal attached can damage the gimbal..???! Is it OK to calibrate the compass with the gimbal removed…???? On my last flight my Typhoon H would not land when throttle fully retarded. It remained in a hover for a good 5 minutes at approx 12 inches off the ground. PUZZLED…??? By the way…Great video…!! JB

  21. Whyme on December 19, 2020 at 10:39 pm

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been looking at videos and no one quite explains it like you do. It was extremely helpful. I just wished I watched this before I flew into barbed wire 😅😂👍🏼

  22. Kurt Hantwerker on December 19, 2020 at 10:39 pm

    Great explanation!! Thank You!

  23. Andrew MacQueen on December 19, 2020 at 10:39 pm

  26. Ed Sisco on December 19, 2020 at 10:46 pm

Jeff, wanted to let you know that I was able to do the upgrades by going outside of my house and doing everything over as per your video . I do have one more question, on my screen it will show a red arched line with numbers on it. What is this used for?
    Thank you for the assistance……..

  28. David Munkhoff on December 19, 2020 at 10:50 pm

Jeff, have you done a video on calibrating the st16 controller? (please say yes) I’ve been looking but can only find crappy videos with mumbling narration on the subject. Your videos are so complete and thorough and easy to follow. My Typhoon H just started pulling to the right unless it’s in turtle mode. While idling and I start to move toward rabbit mode the H moves to the right faster and faster.
Thanks for teaching me about drones.

  29. Happy Fox on December 19, 2020 at 10:51 pm

Great detailed video for anyone that can’t read the manual. It can be very misleading to say drifting to one side must have anything to do with the compass calibration. What’s a way more usual cause for this kind of drifting(and also an error beeping if it occurs before launch) on a Typhoon H, is a loose pot-module on the (usually right) stick, on the ST-16 controller. The pcb with the potentiometer is a little bit too tiny to be clamped tight by the two screws. It makes it move a tiny bit, that results in the stick not returning to exact 0. It’s easily fixed with either a drop of glue or a piece of paper.

  30. jason baumberger on December 19, 2020 at 10:51 pm

and what do u do if it flashes green but will not lock

  31. Rob Losie on December 19, 2020 at 10:51 pm

Yes Very Good Video just what I was looking for thank you!

  32. Charlie Echo on December 19, 2020 at 10:51 pm

Jeff, to make sure that you do not damage the camera gimbal could you keep the cover on during compass calibration.?
