Transport Canada – Drone/UAV Safety Video
Transport Canada’s drone safety video teaches you to fly safely responsibly: maximum 90 meters altitude, 9km from airports, within visual line of sight, 150 meters from buildings and people, and never at night or bad weather. For more information: http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/standards/general-recavi-uav-2265.htm
So you’re not allowed to fly rc anywhere in the City of Edmonton/St Albert/Sherwood Park because every hospital has a heliport. (see map at link http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=72272572245905094449)
Having a 9km no fly zone around an airport (5 is more realistic) is already overkill but there’s no reason to have a 9km no fly around a heliport. Making overbearing rules just makes people ignore the rules.
thanks for putting this out there.
If using a monitor is not accepted why are all the "pilots" on this video has one and are using it !?
TC is confusing me now !
Hey Garneau, if you have repeated nightmares about something that has never happened then you go and see a psychiatrist, you don’t use it as a basis for legislation.
