Thanks Jack for putting out some content for real, actual people that are just looking to explore flying a drone. All the "Best Drones under $1000" videos in the world are useless to these folks.

When buying a sub $200 drone:

Step 1: Temper your expectations. A lot! You are not going to get a DJI Clone that does anything close to the real deal.
Step 2: Look at all the specs -the actual numbers; completely ignore the "Fly’s back to you when you send it a longing feeling" stuff.

I’ve noticed movement down-market on brushless motors over the last year. The cutoff for brushed motors seems to have fallen to somewhere in the $100-125 range – though QUALITY brushless motors is an entirely different discussion. Same with GPS/Non-GPS. While it was right 1round $200 for a long while, It’s also in the low "100’s" – occasionally I see sub $100 GPS "4K" drones. The "4K" is nearly always PHOTO resolution; video being 2K. – crappy 2K at that. In this class you aren’t getting high quality photography – but hopefully a decent flying design, with acceptable video to learn on, and to find out if you are a "drone guy" or just satisfying an itch. All the guys with these gathering dust at least didn’t spend a lot of money to find this out.

Yeah, I like that beast. Just don’t like that radar thing going around on the topside of the drone. Thanks for sharing. 👍

F11 4K pro es mejor creo que los que has presentado.

DJI MINI SE? It seems DJI is getting rid of excess stock and the WiFi chipsets are available to help fill this market nitch. I don’t see any difference between the SE and the original Mavic MINI, but I don’t have an SE and don’t test drones. Your thoughts about this $300 variant of the DJI 2.7K MINI line? Certainly too light for way too many days here in windy North Texas! Thank you for the information and evaluation. Good to show at the club meeting for intro camera and FPV drones to allow uncertain members to try drones.

  9. Timothy Mmope on October 28, 2021 at 9:11 am

Isn’t the mjx bug 16 pro the same drone as the flyhal fx1

  10. FBI AGENT on October 28, 2021 at 9:11 am

You can buy A used mavic mini 1 for about 200$ nowadays… I bought my fly more combo mini 1 year ago for 240$ and If I really wanted to save money I could of sold the 2 extra batteries and the 3 battery charger for like 80/100$ and my price would of gone down to 140/160$ or so..I’ve had few other camera and race quads but Kinda lost interest in the hobby so I sold everything and kept my mini…

Jack, Gave you a thumbs up, but as with other reviews like Tello, they show you how to use it and how easy. Going forward, when reviewing lower cost drones, please show how to use and how easy. In the market for my first drone, thanks for your video.

I did love my A3 but you can no longer get batteries for it…so buyer beware.

Usually at least a breeze if not windy where we are.
Not going over $200 for his first.
If yall had to pick one what would you recommend I get?

    Question here:
Between the SJRC F11 pro,MJX Bugs 16 Pro and the FLYHAL FX1 EIS which one is the best?

  18. Phil McGladdery on October 28, 2021 at 9:26 am

Stay away from Snaptain or any of the alternative names they use for their machines, unless you want a really cheap machine. They advertise a RRP above what the current “offer” always is. They fly ok and the customer service is friendly and approachable but a close inspection of the guts of the drones reveal really cheap parts and questionable build quality. They do seem to include offers in return for favourable reviews though (such as £30 Amazon vouchers or two free batteries) which costed in brings the price down a bit further.
We had an SP500 as a “beginner drone” which unfortunately weighs in at 258g. It literally began falling out of the sky during normal flight but fortunately only from low altitude until it managed to fall into water and became an ex-drone. Despite obviously breaching the warranty by a, getting it wet and b, taking it apart, Snaptain sent a new replacement without any hassle. With offers included the drone cost us about £50 from a claimed RRP of £150. At £50 it was good value but I’d have been furious if I’d paid the £150 for it. It did serve its purpose though and everyone who has used it to try out drone flying has moved on to more expensive machines, but as a drone to keep I’d advise anyone to look elsewhere, and definitely don’t pay the RRP.

Great Video Jack!! It looks like the Mini 3 will soon be available.

i got hubsan zino1 during sale for $200 flying since 3 yrs 🙂 Much better drone than this list. only limitation is it goes only upto 1km. but no need for me to fly that far. It shoots good 4k

  21. Doug Troyer on October 28, 2021 at 9:37 am

Glad to see the Bugs 16 pro in the list since I just ordered it. As far as the Tello, it seems if it did go out 100 meters, you wouldn’t even see it, or maybe my eyes are just getting bad? Los anyway. Another good solid choice. I just wish there was an update to get rid of the frame skip. I also thought even though it’s a little older, the Parrot Bebop2 which has a really great camera and EIS, would be a good choice for under $200. Just my opinion.

    Thumbs up well done

  23. Mal John on October 28, 2021 at 9:38 am

Great video but you nailed it on the head. I own 9 drones all under £200 uk sterling . Each And some of them you have talked about in your video. But I must admit my MJX BUGS 4W IS THE BEST. GREAT WIFI FANTASTIC FLIGHT PERFORMANCE AND 20 T0 25 MINS FLIGHT TIME SUBJECT TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. And 800 meters out of the box BUT IF YOU ADD A 5.8 GHZ CAMRA AND UPGRADE THE T/X AIRAL YOU CAN GET A 1,000 METER PLUS.

  24. Charlie Scott on October 28, 2021 at 9:38 am

The Ryze Tello is a great starting drone. But it is too light. I would always have to watch the wind conditions on UAV forecast or Tomorrow weather app before flying to make sure the winds are not too strong for it.
