I can’t find any of these on amazon.

  2. Charlie Scott on August 24, 2022 at 8:19 pm

The Ryze Tello is a great starting drone. But it is too light. I would always have to watch the wind conditions on UAV forecast or Tomorrow weather app before flying to make sure the winds are not too strong for it.

Any plans on making a under $500 video?

  4. Phil McGladdery on August 24, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Stay away from Snaptain or any of the alternative names they use for their machines, unless you want a really cheap machine. They advertise a RRP above what the current “offer” always is. They fly ok and the customer service is friendly and approachable but a close inspection of the guts of the drones reveal really cheap parts and questionable build quality. They do seem to include offers in return for favourable reviews though (such as £30 Amazon vouchers or two free batteries) which costed in brings the price down a bit further.
We had an SP500 as a “beginner drone” which unfortunately weighs in at 258g. It literally began falling out of the sky during normal flight but fortunately only from low altitude until it managed to fall into water and became an ex-drone. Despite obviously breaching the warranty by a, getting it wet and b, taking it apart, Snaptain sent a new replacement without any hassle. With offers included the drone cost us about £50 from a claimed RRP of £150. At £50 it was good value but I’d have been furious if I’d paid the £150 for it. It did serve its purpose though and everyone who has used it to try out drone flying has moved on to more expensive machines, but as a drone to keep I’d advise anyone to look elsewhere, and definitely don’t pay the RRP.

I did love my A3 but you can no longer get batteries for it…so buyer beware.

  13. FBI AGENT on August 24, 2022 at 8:31 pm

You can buy A used mavic mini 1 for about 200$ nowadays… I bought my fly more combo mini 1 year ago for 240$ and If I really wanted to save money I could of sold the 2 extra batteries and the 3 battery charger for like 80/100$ and my price would of gone down to 140/160$ or so..I’ve had few other camera and race quads but Kinda lost interest in the hobby so I sold everything and kept my mini…

  14. MrRaymond1021 on August 24, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Yeah, I like that beast. Just don’t like that radar thing going around on the topside of the drone. Thanks for sharing. 👍

  16. Roy Lindsey on August 24, 2022 at 8:39 pm

I recently bought the F11 pro under a different name as my entry into GPS drones and I love it. No the camera quality isn’t 4k but it is stable. As I am still new to drones something I learned that others first time buyers need to know is any drone over .55 pounds has to registered now with the FAA. I was unaware of this until just recently though its apparently been a thing for 3-4 years. Happy flying!

Looking to buy my son his first drone for Xmas.
Usually at least a breeze if not windy where we are.
Not going over $200 for his first.
If yall had to pick one what would you recommend I get?

  18. MVMTV on August 24, 2022 at 8:43 pm

    Thumbs up well done

  19. Mummythick YT on August 24, 2022 at 8:45 pm

I would recommend the holy stone 175D it has brushless motors tons of cool features and stabilization. It is a good gps starter drone and it is only $170

  20. Jrbrass on August 24, 2022 at 8:46 pm

Jack, Gave you a thumbs up, but as with other reviews like Tello, they show you how to use it and how easy. Going forward, when reviewing lower cost drones, please show how to use and how easy. In the market for my first drone, thanks for your video.

  21. Andres Melendez on August 24, 2022 at 8:48 pm

    Yes, you miss E58.
It is the best drone ever.

  22. Adebiyi Adesanya on August 24, 2022 at 8:49 pm

Completely new to drones and looking to buy one for my kid for Xmas. For the Ryze Tello, there are many reports that the Tello app does not work on the latest Android firmware (Android 12). Can the drone fly without the app?

  23. BlairAir on August 24, 2022 at 8:49 pm

Thanks Jack for putting out some content for real, actual people that are just looking to explore flying a drone. All the "Best Drones under $1000" videos in the world are useless to these folks.

When buying a sub $200 drone:

Step 1: Temper your expectations. A lot! You are not going to get a DJI Clone that does anything close to the real deal.
Step 2: Look at all the specs -the actual numbers; completely ignore the "Fly’s back to you when you send it a longing feeling" stuff.

I’ve noticed movement down-market on brushless motors over the last year. The cutoff for brushed motors seems to have fallen to somewhere in the $100-125 range – though QUALITY brushless motors is an entirely different discussion. Same with GPS/Non-GPS. While it was right 1round $200 for a long while, It’s also in the low "100’s" – occasionally I see sub $100 GPS "4K" drones. The "4K" is nearly always PHOTO resolution; video being 2K. – crappy 2K at that. In this class you aren’t getting high quality photography – but hopefully a decent flying design, with acceptable video to learn on, and to find out if you are a "drone guy" or just satisfying an itch. All the guys with these gathering dust at least didn’t spend a lot of money to find this out.

  25. Mr. YCK on August 24, 2022 at 8:51 pm

    Question here:
Between the SJRC F11 pro,MJX Bugs 16 Pro and the FLYHAL FX1 EIS which one is the best?

  26. Asim Ergič on August 24, 2022 at 8:53 pm

The cost of a remote control, you just Said it’s Worth setting acide more money,.Exact how much money that is,.The most important part of the video and you don’t know exactly how much money.

  27. gmcjetpilot on August 24, 2022 at 8:53 pm

I spent more for a SJRC F11S 4K 5G GPS, with 3000m range ("S" is 3Km) and 28 min flt time, gimbal and EIS video 4K video. I ended up under $264 w/ two batteries.

    tello or bugs 7 ?

  30. Doug Troyer on August 24, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Glad to see the Bugs 16 pro in the list since I just ordered it. As far as the Tello, it seems if it did go out 100 meters, you wouldn’t even see it, or maybe my eyes are just getting bad? Los anyway. Another good solid choice. I just wish there was an update to get rid of the frame skip. I also thought even though it’s a little older, the Parrot Bebop2 which has a really great camera and EIS, would be a good choice for under $200. Just my opinion.

  31. Doug Cooper on August 24, 2022 at 8:57 pm

Great Video Jack!! It looks like the Mini 3 will soon be available.

  32. Ashish Amatya on August 24, 2022 at 8:57 pm

i got hubsan zino1 during sale for $200 flying since 3 yrs 🙂 Much better drone than this list. only limitation is it goes only upto 1km. but no need for me to fly that far. It shoots good 4k

  33. Dennis Brooks on August 24, 2022 at 8:59 pm

DJI MINI SE? It seems DJI is getting rid of excess stock and the WiFi chipsets are available to help fill this market nitch. I don’t see any difference between the SE and the original Mavic MINI, but I don’t have an SE and don’t test drones. Your thoughts about this $300 variant of the DJI 2.7K MINI line? Certainly too light for way too many days here in windy North Texas! Thank you for the information and evaluation. Good to show at the club meeting for intro camera and FPV drones to allow uncertain members to try drones.

  41. Mal John on August 24, 2022 at 9:13 pm

Great video but you nailed it on the head. I own 9 drones all under £200 uk sterling . Each And some of them you have talked about in your video. But I must admit my MJX BUGS 4W IS THE BEST. GREAT WIFI FANTASTIC FLIGHT PERFORMANCE AND 20 T0 25 MINS FLIGHT TIME SUBJECT TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. And 800 meters out of the box BUT IF YOU ADD A 5.8 GHZ CAMRA AND UPGRADE THE T/X AIRAL YOU CAN GET A 1,000 METER PLUS.
