I have had my Phantom 3 Standard for about a week now. I was sent to a 3 day drone flying and Part 107 license class by my work so I can fly with a commercial license for business related stuff. My company is getting a Phantom 4 Pro Plus Falcon package from Drone World. So I decided that I wanted to get more experience with the platform and was looking for an excuse to buy a Phantom of my own.
For my personal Phantom I ordered a sticker package for my controller so I have little reminders, Up, Down, Left, Right. Something good since I’m new and still learning the controls. Plus I just hated how plain the controller looked so I stickered the heck out of it. LOL.
I wasted money on a camera/gimble protector which goes between the legs under the camera. I could never get it installed properly without it hitting or blocking the camera when it points straight down. I have the optional gimble/camera lock but have been using the big original clear lock because the one like you showed doesn’t seem to hold as steady and I can get the original on and off just fine.
I got the leg extenders so It stands a little higher and wider and helps keep the camera a little higher off the ground.
Other options are spare batteries and another charger so I can charge 2 batteries at once.
I am waiting for a delivery of a hard case from Ebay to carry it all in. Come on FedEx. Get me my drone suitcase.
As you pointed out, the cell phone holder sucks. I upgraded to a large tablet holder. I’m currently using a 7 inch Android tablet but am considering switching to a 10 inch tablet. My drone class instructor used a 10 inch IPAD on the controller for the Inspire we trained on in class. A bigger screen is nice for 50year old eyes like mine.
I’m still learning the features of my Phantom and am flying cautiously. When my company gets the Falcon package in I will be using it around multi story buildings, parking lots and tree lines so I will not need to worry about being FAST but slow, deliberate and SAFE.
I played with the video and photo feature of my Phantom some this weekend.
I posted a couple of videos at- and in case anyone is interested.
Thanks for your video advice and don’t worry about the Umms and Uhhs. I rarely work from a script and am guilty of the same thing. LOL.

    The best intro

  16. JC on July 28, 2021 at 9:22 pm

FYI DJI claims the gimbal guard can interfere with the compass/signal with the phantom and won’t honor warranty if you crash while using it

  17. Marklester Suano on July 28, 2021 at 9:23 pm

    Upgrade or accesories ?

  18. Paul Wrest on July 28, 2021 at 9:26 pm
