I’m thinking that instead of fighting that Remote ID thing, just try a compromise. Like wouldn’t it be nice if they can at least raise the weight limit from 250g to even like 300g? I’ve only been flying DJI Digital FPV kwads, all sub250g, and the 50g increase would be sooo nice!! 🙁 It’s quite tough to be sub250g for some frames
wth, this was THE BEST vid I have seen the last moths. In my country (The Netherlands) the EU laws are getting in place, they do make things easier but the 250 gram is really a turningpiont in what you are alowed to do and what not. I was really getting into fpv 2 years ago, spent a year on learing everything and for what to lookout for in fpv, bought 1 year ago the tinyhawk s, spent a year flighing that., its an awesome tinywhoop. Now I have made up my mind, I want to go into racing… So first, I need a spot to fly, very important! So I have 3 places where I could fly/race, but there is a chance that some people are going to hear and see it, so I need to keep the rules to play it safe and not risk fines. But back to the piont, max 250g is really a save weight to not get fined and still have all the fun that FPV quads bring. So I have been looking for parts to build a fpv racing quad for the last year, still getting more info on what to look out for. So I have a racing setup now, only need to buy the parts and looking for the right props… But now I think, I dont gonna spent 300 on a quad and have to buy 6 lipo’s for getting the risk getting in trouble… So max 250 is I think now from now on my new focus piont to study on…. (still dont have a 5 inch quad) But I love to see more of these kind of vids to study on what parts to buy and to look out for… Also I might start looking for study vids on the combination of props and motors, I dont have seen much vids on that subject, but it is a very important factor on how your quad will fly in the end. Anyway, thanks for the info and the awesome vid!

50… In volume… more ? Come ooooooon ! You’re talking motor size in millimeters… So volume is mm3 … or cubic millimeters. I was expecting better ! Nice sense of R&D though. Not very scientific, but close enough, the thought process is interesting.

Thumbs up, nice to have a 250 gram 5-inch quad. But, to match the endurance of traditional 250 gram helicopters, it needs to be 7-inch to equal the disk loading.

Ummagawd your so Choice! your the fpv ninja,(don’t care i’m blowing sunshine), love your vids, techy and fun, with the skillz, and humble to boot. would love to see this build tuned for a 3 or 4 blade prop, scraggly tends to stop 2 blades dead, I run HQ 4’s and love them, Know the weight and drag is a big one though. cant wait for the third vid, and most def will be purchasing, peace love and mung beans 😉
14:25 Was 13.8g on the CAD model with or without wire? I see the current official weight is 15.2g with 3cm of wire.
I live out in the country, cable TV doesn’t even make it out here. I own 40 acres and fly only over my own land. The nearest big city is thirty miles away, my neighbors can’t even see my drones when I fly them. I am mostly surrounded by woods and farm land. I am in the United States and wonder who would care I am flying and how much my drone weighs. Will they come looking for me? What would they do to me if they caught me flying a 500 gram drone? Yes I will do the sub 250 gram build he comes up with here, but what about the 20 or so drones I have that are over 250 grams, what do I do with them?
I hope they move it up to at least like 400g

Wait so if my drone weighs 300g and I don’t have it registered would it get picked up on radar? I built it myself so I don’t think there’s a tracker in it

I you want a long range quad get a light frame in the 4 inch or 5 inch about 30 to 40 grams and use the mamba 1408 or the t motor 1408 and 4 inch or low pitch 5 inch props and a 1500 mah pack or an a 850 and it will be awesome.
could anyone create a 2 inch set up with 2306 motors and 5 inch props and see how much faster it would be because of the oversized motors and (insane) weight reduction

Heck yeah !!!!! Man that was sick !! I’ve been flying 2306 2400 kv and love it. I put them on heavy frames and they hop over trees amazingly!? But I’m loving your perspective. I’ve been wandering the same thing. Thin but durable frame with ledrib type motors. I was thinking the armattan rooster frame could be cut down, as well. But your drone frame looks lighter, since the camera cage is made of carbon fiber…
I was thinking shave the arms on the rooster and put your camera cage one it. With your new motors on it with a higher kv. They also have a 20×20 4in1 and flight controller now. That would withstand all the voltage you need…. 🤯🤯🤯 I just can’t remember who makes the 4in1 and flight controller but they were green. lol I think it was iflight and they had changed the color. But that could help you in weight too…!?

these motors dont work well with standered mounting unless you like you wire coming out the side of the arm instead of following the arm
sub 250g, it’s just a number, let the system take your liberty, 250g is arbitrary. without meaning. fight !!!
