Roughly 25% of the human population would be annihilated during this initial outbreak. Eventually as humans got a foothold, they were able to fight back, but these physical prowess of these monsters, made them difficult to go toe to toe with and as a result, not many soldiers would be left. It would come light, that scientists employed by the COG would responsible for humanities ultimate predator. I’ve never really been a fan of this series, I played the first game, but thats it.

I have to say though its really frigging weird watching and reading about this stuff after the fact, considering Im friends with the guy who does most of the Narrative direction of this series now.

  4. Marco Mazzeo on September 2, 2021 at 10:57 pm

On the General Raam part, aren’t Therons just older Drones anyway?

  5. TrayCaddyyy on September 2, 2021 at 10:57 pm

Are the Swarm in Gears 4-5 the same species as the Locust in the previous games?

Back when gears was manly and awesome

I definitely like exploring and explaining mutants and trans-human enemies in Games. The locust and half the shit in Resident Evil being prime examples. This is a time I’m also exploring Vampire lore and non-modern "humanoid monsters" such as Lovecraft and early sci-fi human-like beasts. I must request Twilight Vampires and Werewolves/Skin-Changer physiology Explained.
Yes, I hope you read it. Twilight has the oddest and most introverted take on Vampires that seems both impossible and upon some inspection, believable. My theory is that they have been taken over by a silicon based "fluid" akin to a plasmodium and can resist most damage, being so tough. Extreme strength or force can break them apart but only destroying or burning kills the body.

Just about the Locust of Gears and their "schlocky and radical evolution" in the series, I did like them esp. in Gears 1 and 2. While Gears 4 and 5 just "over-does" them in a kind of over-evolved, exploited way, I think the reality in-franchise that they’re man-made freaks is deep. Mutants including Witchers, weaponized vampires, etc. always go bad or act in their own power. The idea that a transhuman army is linked to some genetic telekinesis to a ruler and if said ruler/Queen dies a related female must take her place is both extreme and believable. I like a simple theory in this too: Myrrha was a narcissist who hated the humans and so she used the Proto-Locust and experimented on them with Hollow Creatures’ DNA and her own. She created a kind of hormonal or pheromone control method. She may also have tinkered around seeking immortality or a successor too.

Likely she set up the Horde to function without her but it would be interesting if this "hive mind" could be systemically killed. After all, after Gears 3 this problem + the new and further mutated Locust was the problem. … This is interesting. I suspect surviving nations and settlements have enough power to beat back a Swarm threat. The key is either making peace or totally destroying the hive-mind "matriarch" command, even as a gene in the "hive" itself.

Could you do a Gears of Lore episode on "Ukkon" from Gears Tactics?
I’m interested to hear about your explanation for not only HOW Ukkon can speak proper intelligent English, but also how he’s able to regenerate unlike normal Locust variants.

I don’t know why but everytime I watch your content I always want to play the game in question I haven’t played this game in years and now I’m dying to keep up the great content

The leader of Ill-fated Zeta team did too.
And just like that, Boom: you have a Boomer.

  14. Ian G on September 2, 2021 at 11:08 pm

Which gears game has the Locust survival mode? I’d assume 4 or 5?

Also, imagine needing to be the locust who needs to fuck the Berserker? Yeah sure… but like, the risk sounds a bit too much.

  15. Jr G on September 2, 2021 at 11:10 pm

Favorite part of gears is when they see a Sierraipede for the first time but no one knew what it was but they already had a name for it 🤣

  16. Flexican on September 2, 2021 at 11:12 pm

    The locust

Queen (Politics), Trinity (Religion), Horde (Military)

  17. andrzej wysocki on September 2, 2021 at 11:14 pm

how the locusts had the supplies n numbers to do this made no sense to me, i mean if they spend more than a few decades gearing up, sure…but they only had like 50 ish years of existing

  18. MisterM0nkey on September 2, 2021 at 11:14 pm

About drone individuallity, there’s actually a comic called "Gears of War: The Rise of RAAM", which shows infighting and quite lot dialogue and friendship between the Locust.

Drones and Fallout Super Mutants have the same orgin.

  22. Flexican on September 2, 2021 at 11:18 pm

Rise of raam gives a. Lot of insight in their culture. There are some drones that get “breeding rights”. Locust even have their own alphabet and language. Military ranks etc

  23. Brian Achim on September 2, 2021 at 11:18 pm

    So do Drones have souls?

  24. Cristian Villarreal on September 2, 2021 at 11:20 pm

  25. robert demonte on September 2, 2021 at 11:21 pm

  26. AnomalyINC on September 2, 2021 at 11:21 pm

RAAM being a drone makes him more awesome, not less.
It takes an absolute unit to go from one in a million to THE one in a million.

  27. mike johnston Bob on September 2, 2021 at 11:21 pm

so the carmine brothers are just the same guy who are incrementally and genetically improved through cloning and potentially splicing with locust creatures/berserkers

  28. Abdulla Buhmaid on September 2, 2021 at 11:22 pm

    Great video !

but the heart sounds bit is not totally accurate

The human heart produces S1 and S2 which are the normal heart sounds "this is what is referred to as Lub Dub" but the cause of these sounds is not the contaction of the atria and ventricles but actually they are due to the closure of the atrioventricular valves and semilunar valves (during ventricular systole and diastole).

There also might be added sounds like S3 or S4 forming "gallop rhythms" which could be seen either in normal cases or abnormal cases too.

  29. Brian Achim on September 2, 2021 at 11:25 pm

The fact that the new COG still keep all of this a secret is sick

For a second I was very confused about how mutated genetics created an older generation

  31. Ben Falkner on September 2, 2021 at 11:27 pm

Honestly Gears 5 has a cool concept but I wasn’t really satisfied with it. I can’t put my finger on what I didn’t like though

  35. Flexican on September 2, 2021 at 11:29 pm

The other human to probably beat a drone in strength is Tai Kaliso, tho Skorge captured him and he was tortured as a POW

  36. Janoy Cresva on September 2, 2021 at 11:29 pm

Gears 4 and 5 are so shit. Literally turned the series into a GI Joe/rescue heros hybrid. The whole humanity created the locust is so dumb. How the hell did they build so much in only 100 years? And make that many locust for a 17 year war?

  37. holly clown on September 2, 2021 at 11:30 pm

I really did feel sorry for the Locust’s cause, as i chainsaw them in half.

  38. TK G on September 2, 2021 at 11:30 pm

"Sickness for the Thiccness" when it comes to locust drones….ewww. Say, Roanoke, you ever consider covering the Crossout Virus?

I personally have crashed lots of times and fallen quite alot from more than 6 to 7 feet drops. I now know why I have probably not broken a bone in my life, and it takes alot more effort for me to stay buoyant than most in water, I know how to tread water and different swimming techniques but I always seem to sink below the surface.
Maybe I am just lucky and bad at swimming, but maybe not I’m only 5,9 and I have low fat and average muscle mass but I way more than expected and my BMI never seems to make sense and comes back inaccurate.
So it all makes sense now…. Apparantly I’m a Gear…. But I’m more UIR tbh,

  45. smckrack3r on September 2, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Vagina power basically the point of gears 5

  46. deathbringer 989 on September 2, 2021 at 11:38 pm

where are you going to talk about sir carmine? he is no human he is our god the fact there is no vid on him is heresy

  47. #makeYTgreat Again on September 2, 2021 at 11:42 pm

Like you I haven’t been tested for it but considering my height and weight for my BMI and my experience having smashed my anckles and at the msot getting a minor fracture and healing rather quickly I do think I have this, it would explain why I cannot swim as well so yeah double bone density may be more common than we thought

  48. Zero on September 2, 2021 at 11:44 pm

Michael Barrick overpovered drones aswell in the montevado Gears comic book , he literaly ripped a locust apart in his hand.
