I’m looking for a cheap drone with decent camera under $100 to capture all my outdoor adventures. Any recommendations?

READ THIS BEFORE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO AND POST A SILLY COMMENT. If you want to know the PRICE of each drone or the SPECS of each drone, you have to watch the DETAILED REVIEW of the drone which can be found in the Links below this video.

My dad self built his modular drone. He’s put so much time, perseverance and dedication into it I’m beyond proud, his talent and passion is admirable. It would mean the world to him if you checked it out on his new YouTube page https://youtu.be/QdSZ_rnPVss Thank you 🦣

Thank you for making this video. I lost a nice Holy Stone 700D. It took off on its own after it landed kind of weird a short distance away from me. There is hope that it will show up eventually, but it’s probably in a park that’s closed and fenced in for the winter. I just passed my Canadian drone exam and now I’m considering buying a second hand one on FB Marketplace. You help with comparisons, so I’m going to check the ones you recommend.

  27. jayson ramos on February 23, 2021 at 11:57 pm

You should at least flash some basic specs and price….how low cost exactly are these?

  28. 2 Big Railfans on February 23, 2021 at 11:58 pm

I recently purchased the Holy Stone HS700D (approx. $250 US) and it’s a really good drone for the price. The factory camera does 4K @ 30fps BUT if you want, you can get the gimbal for the HS700 for your GoPro or other similar action camera…just don’t forget to grab a micro-USB to USB C type jumper.
My question is…does anyone make 3 three bladed, screw on type props that will fit these drones? Would they even be worth the investment as far as generating extra thrust…maybe to eek out a little more flying time?

Great introduction to drones. One of the most important feature I think should be priority when rating a drone is distance. Just about every drone you recommended you say has good distance. What is a good distance? I mean 300 ft does me really not much good . I read some drones advertised at 100 meters and others at 500 meters .Or a little over a 1/4 mile which is better but still not really very impressive. 20 minutes seems like a pretty short day outing as well . I dont want too get too far ahead of the game .I just think it would help if you explained in your video what too expect between good distance and great distance maybe even the best distance is ? Thanks again for the introduction to drones .

Most beginners don’t want to spend too much money but so as this doesn’t tell you the approx price of these drones it really isn’t a great deal of help. Maybe this could be edited to write the approx prices in the description

    GREAT VIDEO – THANKS.
One question – Are there situations where a white colored drone is better than a black colored one? ..As far as seeing/tracking/finding it in the sky with your eyes etc? I am just wondering if there are advantages for one color versus the other? or do difference in your experience ? THANK YOU.

  39. David James on February 24, 2021 at 12:14 am

I paid $20 for my first drone and have a blast with it. No GPS, no camera, 1 hand controller (tip it to steer). Probably the easiest drone to fly I have ever seen. Sharper Image DRO 002. It is a stunt drone so it can easily do flips. I have had it up to about 150 or so feet and the range is about 300 ft or possibly up to 500 ft if conditions are just right. Between about 5 and 8 minutes of fly time (depending on how you fly it). Bad things are you cannot easily tell when the battery is low (during the daytime) and it will start coming down when the battery is critically low and if it is over water (such as a lake), you will only have a short amount of time (depending on how high above the water it is), to get it back safely on land. Why "waste" money on a drone with GPS and camera for a first drone, when all you really want to do is fly something to get your "feet wet" (and if the drone goes into the lake, you probably will get your feet wet). Also, it can only be flown "safely" when the wind is maybe 6 MPH or less, otherwise it might not fly directly into the wind or worse, the wind will take it out of range.
