Dadgum, BEAUTIFUL country Jake, makes me miss Montana!

I am a little surprised that the Air 2S has 0 degrees operating low limit compared to -10 (celsius) for the Air 2. Curios to see if there is a real difference or if this is just a text thing

so beautiful review for beginner like me! so thank you so much 🙂

Dang don’t you worry about flying $1500 over the water?

  5. MrCuervo22779 on November 19, 2021 at 10:16 am

First off, thank you for this review, it is extremely informative as I have been kicking the tires for quite some time. My question to you is what happens if I fly this without registering any of these drones? I hate the fact that my life is being recorded somewhere by some entity. I do not plan on using this for "commercial" purposes. At best I may try to use it for personal use photography and filming my "adventures". Is there any other information or advice you can give someone that is wanting to join the drone community?

Great review! I debated between the Mini 2 and Air 2S for my first drone. Pros and cons to both, but both great options. I went with the Mini 2 and have been happy with my decision.

  10. Sean Joe on November 19, 2021 at 10:24 am

I’m planning to buy mavic air 2. I’m a beginner for these things. never fly any drones. Is it ok if I choose mavic air 2 ? what I need stability, obstacle avoid and can return home without any problems. I think drone is the best christmas gift for me. thanks

  11. Tony D on November 19, 2021 at 10:25 am

6 sided object detection and USB-C charging should be standard by now. 2S was so close!

    These drones are all overpriced…

  14. Numinous20111 on November 19, 2021 at 10:32 am

I’ll be purchasing your course before long. First I have to practice, practice, practice with my Air 2S. Your work is very informative and very polished and presented in an engaging way, so I’m sold on the course.

Great and Very Informative video Jake ! I "Liked & Subscribed" as an Ol’ guy at 71 yrs. old.. I have Attempted my luck to fly Helicopters, only to "Fish " them out of trees with my fishing pole/line… I gave that up… but I’m still interested in learning how to Properly FLY a Drone and be successful at it ! Watching Your "How to & What to purchase" videos are a VERY good Influence for me and I would like to add that YOU are APPRECIATED !!! Keep up Your FANTASTIC Video work !!! Most Enjoyable !!!👍

I bought Mavic 2 pro as my first drone ever. Loving it. Mavic 3 doesn’t impress me. The quality of Mavic 2 pro is second to none. The advanced technology behind M2P is unbelievable n trustworthy. You just need to master distance return to home battery level n critical battery level. I’d wait for Mavic 3 pro to come. M3 is just a trial product. High Price tag is understandable for CINE version. It’s Not for everyone. I decided not to get it bc I just don’t need to extra features yet. If I’m a short film music video YouTube video creator / blogger n making money out of it yes it’s worth it. For a beginner mini 2 or air 2s r great. They will deliver. Trust me.

  18. Tobias Steiner on November 19, 2021 at 10:38 am

What’s with the "stop motion" type jitter on the water surface with the mini 2? Is that in the native footage or is it an artifact of your video export in editing?

  19. Kelly Jerred on November 19, 2021 at 10:40 am

Enjoyed the video and the comparison of various drones was very helpful to me when I am trying to decide on a first drone. My takeaway was the Mini 2 is recommended unless you have the budget for the Air 2S and then it would be the best choice. I can see where a difference of a fatal crash risk of $599 vs $1299 could be a deciding factor …. after all, we are talking about a 1st drone and novice pilot….

  21. Jakob on November 19, 2021 at 10:41 am

Great overview, and again.. wow the surroundings.. breathtaking.. the only thing I missed was the FPV feed, as Im personally using a big tablet (10.5" 397g LTE 5.5mm) with high brightness 750 and 1600p OLED screen, and that FPV live view..really a feature I appreciate and it is shocking good even at the low-end Air2 line. (that FPV feed quality for consumer drones is a segment DJI really have nailed)
But I guess it is something like
1080p for Mavic2 pro, Air2 air2s, and 720p for the Mini line..though have not looked at the bitrate block sizes and if they differ and if they are variables amongst the same res.
Skydio.. though not sure what FPV feed they operating with and is it still piggyback riding on that controller from another vendor..–, sadly not for sale here in scandinavia.
I was wondering you seem to be really hard into the DJI you have a walkthru video with other apps for the DJI line. as I understand some of the features missing in the DJI Air2 and Air2s and Mini1 and 2 fx waypoints are present in other controller apps.

  22. gregg logan on November 19, 2021 at 10:41 am

all your drones are way out of my price range.

  23. David BARNETT on November 19, 2021 at 10:42 am

do not buy any SYMA drone just look at the remarks and complaints on their page

  24. D Hansel on November 19, 2021 at 10:42 am

    Taking your drone on vacation.
If you are going to take your drone on vacation I think this would be the thing to do.
Do not leave the batteries in a hot car. If you are going to a show such as Branson Missouri and you know you will be leaving your drone and the batteries I suggest you find a good grade small cooler. You want to get the kind that you can put these ice bags you have in the motel’s freezer in the cooler. Place each drone battery in one zip-lock bag. You can double bag the batteries if you would like. You do not want to have moisture get on the batteries. You want to keep them cool and dry while you are out of your car.
If you don’t have the freezer gel packs you can double bag ice from the hotel.
The idea is keep the batteries cool and dry.

If anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear about this.

  25. carl david Hanson on November 19, 2021 at 10:44 am

wow wouldn’t it be awesome if DJI and SKYDIO would become partners.. out of this world drones and i would only buy there drones EVER!.

  26. Monkey Attackedmyass on November 19, 2021 at 10:45 am

I want to get proficient with flying before buying the Mavic 3. What drone in the roughly $200 range or under would be a good choice to master drone flying before upgrading?

  27. John Riggenbach on November 19, 2021 at 10:46 am

All you have are very expensive drones? Why? So you make more money?

  28. Joe Shmoe on November 19, 2021 at 10:47 am

The Mini 2 is perfect for a first drone….I can afford to crash it! Hope I don’t and have 2 years of DJI Refresh, but all in with the Fly More Combo, a new tablet as my Nvidia Shield won’t run DJI Fly, a few other accessories I am under $1000 CAD.

As a side note, I bought the Walmart ONN 8 in Tablet pro. $130CAD ($99US) and I must say for a low cost tablet it has worked out great so far. I didn’t want a tablet that cost as much or more than the drone, and I would recommend. I can go all Triple Tech, when I am on my 3rd or 4th drone.

Great introduction on each, and the scenery outstanding! I will be testing the Mini 2 all winter, as I just got it and I am not waiting for spring. I don’t think I will try -40, but -10C for sure. I have used it in pretty stiff winds and it is surprisingly stable for a sub 250 gram drone. – Cheers

  29. Run away on November 19, 2021 at 10:47 am

Definitely the Mini 2 but if you got the budget, obstacle sensors on the Air 2S could be more beginner-friendly.

  34. Łukasz Kłapyta on November 19, 2021 at 10:49 am

    Great video!!!
I’m thinking about my first drone. And now it’s between mini2 and air 2s. Which one will you recommend? The purpose it’s mostly photos… is it quality OK on mini2? I’m using full frame canon camera and I’m wondering if the quality of mini2 will not be annoying for me… maybe 2s it’s the best choice…
Can you help me with this choice?

  35. TheManeliss on November 19, 2021 at 10:50 am

Best tiltle for your vid : most expensive drone for beginers!!!

  36. GnarlyBark on November 19, 2021 at 10:51 am

Great video Jake, thank you! Of course the pre-roll ad on this video is for one of those cheap drones described by many as a scam.

  37. Terry McGeary on November 19, 2021 at 10:51 am

Just the thing for me! The Mini is going to be the one to start with I think.

  38. Night Days on November 19, 2021 at 10:52 am

I hit the water and there fried. They have the no how. So why are they not making them water proof. They want you to hit the water .so they make more money.

Hey Jake, another great video review from you. Just wondering what made you change your mind about Air 2 as you was not sure if you’ll be keeping it?

  42. willia3r on November 19, 2021 at 10:55 am

DJI Mini 2 will likely be my choice.

  43. Trip Building on November 19, 2021 at 10:55 am

    Amazing video!

  46. Ben Nguyen on November 19, 2021 at 11:04 am

What about non-photographers.. that is, I’m least interested in the camera quality (1k resolution videos is fine)… nor is Battery life terribly important for me.

The *MOST* important features I’m looking for
    1) it can fly by itself (waypoint) and/or can follow me from a distance.
    2) small/portable
    3) beginner friendly – easy to fly, hard to break

Which one might work best for me?

  47. John on November 19, 2021 at 11:04 am

Got the Mini 2 for my first drone! Crashed it and it was covered by DJI Care Refresh. It’s worth every penny for someone who’s still learning.

  48. Edwin Bab on November 19, 2021 at 11:04 am

How far drone goes and once reaches limit does it automatically come back or shoes range limit

  49. Spearfishing Pastor on November 19, 2021 at 11:05 am

I like the mini 2 but i think its a risk for beginners since it doesn’t have obstacle avoidance
