Taking your Drone on a Plane & What Equipment I Carry (& which model to fly over a volcano…)

#TSA #Drones #RoadTrip

Travel is starting up again, and we can take our drones on planes quite easily these days if you know the rules. I explain how to take your drone on a plane and where to pack your Lithium or LiPo batteries in Hold or Carry On luggage. If you’re taking your drone on vacation or holiday, I go through some key points to make life easier, and also go through the equipment I take when travelling. Tripods, Power Banks, LiPo Batteries and which model drone I prefer to travel with. I also talk about my plans for flying over the volcano in Iceland and which drone I’m prepared to damage
Cheers, Ian

Iceland? I’m too lazy to drive 50 miles to the shore. Farthest I’ve traveled lately is the ball field about 2 miles from my home.

Ian, Have a safe and wonderful time in Iceland. We did a home swap in Iceland in 2017. Super trip with lots of photos, but sadly just prior to purchasing our drone. 😞 – Bill from the States

I’ve been following the volcano and would love to go see it. Enjoy your break 😊

  42. Larry Bees on April 23, 2022 at 7:04 pm

great advice Ian all the best in Iceland !!!

  43. Reel Kiwi Memories on April 23, 2022 at 7:04 pm

Yeah I also would probably choose my most expendable drone – the Mavic Mini for the Iceland volcano… until I remembered the Mini is made of very light flimsy plastic! You might want to steer clear of the really hot zones with that drone. I’m sure it’s probably extremely hot even at a decent height above lava. Be interesting to see how it goes anyway.

Great video, certainly makes you think just how much your going to take with you. Maybe leave the Mrs at home and use her baggage allowance. Good luck stay safe and really looking forward to either a horror story or some fantastic footage 👌

  47. Super Nova on April 23, 2022 at 7:08 pm

I went to Iceland in the winter a couple of years ago. It ranks as one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. It’s also extremely expensive but worth it. Looking forward to your footage.

  48. ToastandJam52 on April 23, 2022 at 7:09 pm

Great video and a lot of useful info. I am guessing you have seen the recent Youtube video of someone flying a drone into the volcano (recording the video to his phone). Great words of wisdom at the end: it is all about the memories. Have a great time in Iceland!
