What do you think about Hubsan drones?

  2. Ben W on June 10, 2022 at 7:04 pm

I have a spark got it over 2 years ago and I can agree it’s a tank but I have never crashed it I will get a air2s or air2 soon.

  3. Angel Manuel Camacho on June 10, 2022 at 7:05 pm

I’ve bought the sg906 pro2 and yes I got bored that I had to buy the mavic mini now I have this helicopter 🚁 that I’m not flying so selling it.

  4. Jonathan H on June 10, 2022 at 7:05 pm

I know two friends that bought cheap drones that were rubbish and their hobby has gone nowhere. I did some research, got the MIni 2 and have not looked back. Have now done 50 odd flights in 2 months. One subject I would appreciate you Darren making a video, is how you choose locations to launch. That is always my most difficult decision, from where shall I fly. Should I fly from location without people around further from subject, or one best to keep VLOS of the drone? Would be interested how you select.

  5. Tony Sutton on June 10, 2022 at 7:06 pm

I started with the original F11 and had no problems with flying it but I was disappointed with the picture quality and then got worried with the changes to drone laws. I switched to the Mini 2 when I could get back out again after the first lockdown (being locked at home for months meant I hadn’t spent anything So I had spare cash) and I’m really pleased that I did.

I trust the Mini 2 in the air, the picture quality is far better and, being so small, I can take it everywhere. I’m just looking forward to heading north, getting on a few Scottish islands and taking so footage.

Now that the Mini SE I think these budget drones will lose customers but most people with very low budgets will still continue to buy 100£ drones for their kids and as presents but for people looking to spend the extra money for these better features the 300$ DJI SE is going to become a homerun….

Depends if you want a toy really!!

  9. Science & Imagination on June 10, 2022 at 7:13 pm

I bought a BUGS 4 drone, and it’s too big, but it does fly nice. You don’t need to load an app for it, unless you want it. I actually love it better than my Mini 2, but that’s simply because I hate cellphones, but I use it for my mini only. It’s just a refurbished phone, but my Bugs is awesome, but it’s too big and no prop guards for it; the mini does. Thank God. The mini 2 is GREAT, BUT you need to cover the base cost of the drone, then, you have to buy a High End Smart Phone. I love my Bugs more than the Mini 2, but they made it against the law to fly it outside in the city. The two reasons is that, 1 the drone is big enough to see it and the other reason is that you don’t ever need to buy high end phones to activate it. I wouldn’t have bought mine if I knew for sure you had to have the FLY App. I don’t like dji at all. I bought a robomaster and love it, but they get to OWN IT STILL! I HATE DJI, but I do like their products, but they are sort of out of hand now..

  10. Roo’s-Bots …. iOS on June 10, 2022 at 7:13 pm

The new mini SE will change all this as it’s cheaper …… thanks for your honest review ….. and I totally agree they are what they are ….. at the time I got mine the mini 2 wasn’t out …. the mini was and I didn’t even think about a reconditioned one …. very sound advice Darren 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  11. Thomas Courtney on June 10, 2022 at 7:14 pm

    Hi Darren .
Well said again Darren . I bought a cheep £100 drone first flight started Okay for the first few minutes .. Then shock horror it flew off out of control but luckily I did fined it .. Still in the box from that day .. Cheers Darren Tommy Yorkshire 😊👍🛰

  12. Chris Lee - UK on June 10, 2022 at 7:15 pm

There needs to be more videos like this Darren, fair play fella. I started out with a Phantom 3 Pro, and now have the Air 2S and will be buying a Mini 2 next week. I like to concentrate on the footage and photos, not dam buster style endings…

  13. John Walker on June 10, 2022 at 7:16 pm

    Forget the budget drones!
Spend a little more money for a safe, reliable drone that won’t fall out of the sky and hurt someone on the ground! Dji drones… 😉👍

  14. Steve00 Alt on June 10, 2022 at 7:16 pm

Well paying £30 for getting you into the drone industry is much better than paying £300 for something that does the same job. Then later if you find you dont like flying drones then you didnt pay huge amount so not to worry.

  15. Terry Neil Booth on June 10, 2022 at 7:19 pm

Absolutely agree with your coverage on these cheaper Drones. I’ve seem so many reviews when the apps crash or where the smart features don’t work because its in beta stage? The CAA should also be imposing more basic safety regulations and quality control of all these cheaper drones – just like they set the standards for us pilots. DJI sub 250g is next for me but holding on until the new mini 3 spec and pricing is more available. Enjoying you channel 👍

  16. madnlooney on June 10, 2022 at 7:21 pm

This is an example of bigger isn’t better plus the biggest issue is the weight category it falls in

  17. 1010AD on June 10, 2022 at 7:21 pm

Great video and glad I found it as yesterday I very nearly bought a RED5 from Mankind in Manchester. I’ll now look at Cex

  18. EnglishTurbines on June 10, 2022 at 7:24 pm

I’d rather cut off a limb that buy that….lol..🤔🤔😳😀😀🇬🇧

  19. Joe da man on June 10, 2022 at 7:24 pm

Thank you for this video, I am on the verge of buying a drone on a budget, just so I can learn how to fly one and get used to it before I invest in a more expensive one, I don’t want to buy one for decent money yet, just incase I crash or lose it, plus my daughter wants to learn how to fly one too.

  20. Gregory Henderson on June 10, 2022 at 7:25 pm

That’s my drone but my camera isn’t working. Yes that’s what it does moves from side in the wind . It was my first drone. And wanted to learn how to fly. That’s why I subscribe to your channel

  21. Exploring Canada on June 10, 2022 at 7:25 pm

I agree. The mini 2 is a perfect beginner drone. 👋🏼🇨🇦

  22. Steve Emary on June 10, 2022 at 7:26 pm

The Mini 2 is one of DJI’s best kept secrets, it’s by far a powerhouse of a drone. People need to do research and chat with other drone pilots on their choices. I have had many ask me why my drone is so stable and rock solid in the air, while they fight for control with theirs. DJI is the cornerstone and has more than the market share, they raise the bar on drone tech and lead the way with all their products. The resale value is high, and the support is bar none. Save your pennies and dimes, and invest in quality.

  23. Chad Gilmore on June 10, 2022 at 7:26 pm

If you buy these budget drowns you get more time waiting for the batteries too charge than you get flight time

  24. Rikardo Zimmerman on June 10, 2022 at 7:30 pm

Yep great review. I owned one of those Zino Pro drone and guess what after one month it flew away when I tried to do a waypoint and I could never find that drone again with a 128 gb of storage memory card and all the film that I had on there. I was so mad that I chose that drone vs mini 1 at that time. Then I saved little bit more money and bought me a mini 2 and boy I have a lot of fun with it and so so much confidence that it will always come back to me no matter how reckless I am. Honestly mini 2 is the way to go and there is no better budget drone that you could ever buy and have so much fun with it. LITERALLY you can fly that drone ANYWHERE!!!!😉 Oh there is something else: NEVER👎 buy a ZINO DRONE EVER!!!!

  25. markmezo on June 10, 2022 at 7:32 pm

I wasn’t even going to watch this Darren, but i did & got to 58 seconds, i knew the answer, the answer is NO.

  27. Retired and Living the dream on June 10, 2022 at 7:34 pm

No No No buy quality. I bought a JJRC X12 £250 no guarantee no serial number so hard to register 4 flights the battery’s expanded, contacted JJRC nothing. Buy quality first.. After 2 months my DJI min2 battery expanded contacted DJI replacement two days later.
By quality once buy cheap many times. My DJI mini 2 is great.

  28. SGT BIGBAWZ on June 10, 2022 at 7:35 pm

This video will help assist others in their choice of which drone to purchase and as you say, not waste their money!
I bought my DJI mini of an auction site about 7 days ago, came with little use, the flymore combo, a full set of ND Filters and 2 of the best range extenders plus a set of warning lights as extras’ for £300 including postage and as a new drone user have been very impressed with the ease of flight and quality of the 2.7k camera. Really happy with it and looking forward to using it more in the right areas, gaining some more flight experience and then jumping up to the Mini 2 for the 4k.

  29. WhatToDo on June 10, 2022 at 7:35 pm

Great video again. I have never looked back after buying dji. A major point I think you missed is that all these cheaper drones are over 500g and the complications that creates with registration etc. I just added the dji fpv to my collection but I’m having issues with places to fly "legally". I don’t see the point in owning a drone that weights more than 250g anymore unless it’s for business or fpv. The sub 250g maket is about to literally take off as all manufactures start to expand small and micro drone products.

  30. Trev on June 10, 2022 at 7:36 pm

Yes D spot on advice. DJI SE for budget. Just stay with the brand we all know and love 😀

  31. BlairAir on June 10, 2022 at 7:37 pm

Another issue with F11 Pro 4k. There are ZERO camera options. None. Not even exposure value. 😒 Plus, literally no one has that stable hover DJI mastered. Still like my Fimi drones, but the QC is shit. I own 3 DJIs and 3 Fimi. Need to sell all but one of the Fimi.

  32. jack sparrow lookalike shaun hammant on June 10, 2022 at 7:38 pm

yea totaly spot on mate i have bought many drones still have my hubsan h501s but only fly dji now my mini 2 and air 2 are just worth the money fantastic uavs

  33. The Lone Racer on June 10, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Mini 2 all the way. I love mine. Definitely worth 200 more and you’ll get sooooo much more out of the experience.

  34. charlie gaudino on June 10, 2022 at 7:41 pm

If you’re getting into flying a drone, you might as well get a DJI mini. I bought my first drone last year. A budget drone from holystone. It was okay but the camera was horrible. As I started to really look into the hobby and saw all the amazing videos from something that was a little more, I immediately wanted the mavic mini. The twist is that I’m glad I didn’t get that right away because the mini 2 came out! So I flipped a PS5 to get my mini 2. Now I was so much more happier. So, it might be worth it to wait but don’t even fool around. Do the mini 2.

  35. Marc de on June 10, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Great stuff Darren….similar lutes to you mate and wouldn’t touch these shite drones now and recommend pals don’t….only good one was the Tello Iron man mini drone for fifty quid for my son that’s actually awesome inside….mini 2 still my go to even with the older larger more sensors DJI ones lol. ✌️👍😂

  36. Embark Outdoors on June 10, 2022 at 7:42 pm

    I’m gonna say…..
    GOD NO. Get a Mini2 🤪

  37. Steve Standing Wolf on June 10, 2022 at 7:42 pm

Great video. I tip my hat to your honesty.

  38. john Taylor on June 10, 2022 at 7:43 pm

Wish this up four weeks ago, as they say buyer beware I saw one of those for 90 quid three weeks later this little toy drone turns up which you could fit in the palm of your hand. 20+ emails later that company asking the same questions eventually I sent it back, from being delivered but no one in to receive it five days later someone has picked it up don’t know when I’ll get my money back or if I will. DJI soon me thinks

  39. Doug Cooper on June 10, 2022 at 7:47 pm

Great Review Darren!! I agree with you!! DJI Mini 2 is an awesome drone, and the price is awesome too!!

  40. MrRaymond1021 on June 10, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Yeah, that’s the problem. A lot of people buy these cheap $80 drones and expect something great. I wouldn’t spend that much, maybe $30 drones from wish just to learn. Now I have a MA2, and I love it. Thanks for the video.

  41. Seer Seerwealth on June 10, 2022 at 7:50 pm

BRAVE, BRILLIANT no BULL review, and straight talk like an arrow.
As expected from Darren. Just do not try cutting down the tree with a DJI MINI2, mate. lol. Even when that baby can almost do it.
One of my favorite sayings goes as follows:

***When you truly do not care
    what anyone thinks of you
    You have gotten dangerously close
    to something called
    "**FREEDOM" ***!

  42. JasonScott on June 10, 2022 at 7:54 pm

With the mini se for 299 with 3 batteries all these cheap unreliable drones are absolete . If you want anything larger then a tiny Woop just get the mini se. Otherwise you’re just throwing your money away.

  43. Mark Jackson on June 10, 2022 at 7:54 pm

I’ve been wanting a drone for a while, and recently took the plunge and went with the DJI Mini 2 after reading a lot of reviews – I’m amazed with how capable it is for the size, and how easy it is to fly (though I still have a bit to learn). The quality of the photos and footage is great too. Glad I didn’t opt for a cheaper drone to start off with, as I’ve a feeling I’d have ended up regretting it.

  44. DARYL SJ on June 10, 2022 at 7:54 pm

I started with the BUGS 4 who now have a BUGS 16 which looks like a good drone but my upgrade from the BUGS 4 was the Mini 1 and can honestly say it’ll be DJI for the foreseeable future.

  45. Mike Hrenak on June 10, 2022 at 7:55 pm

Way to speak the truth brother air2 army out

  46. Wise Man Sky Films on June 10, 2022 at 7:55 pm

Fully agree, my first drone was a phantom vision years ago. Even that drone would out fly these so called beginner drones. 👍

  47. Jorg Schlagheck on June 10, 2022 at 7:56 pm

Thanks for this honest video. I went through two budget drones and then bought my Mini 2. The difference is like day and night. I still fly the budget drones just for fun, but there is no way the footage comes anywhere close. However, I’m the type who learns things the hard way. Crashed my JJRC Cetus many times and it is still okay. Lost my Holy Stone for six months. Glad I didn’t pull my beginner shit with the DJI 😁

  48. Siegfried Pruscha on June 10, 2022 at 7:56 pm

If I have the money for a Bentley, I would never buy a Rolls Royce 😉

  49. Landmark Aerial Drone Photography on June 10, 2022 at 7:57 pm

😂 🤣 That’s what I like about you Darren and why you are the best at what you do. Yet another great and informative video, dji all the way for me. I did have to pause your video at 3.23 when you said what you did. It cracked me up, I was crying laughing. 😂 🤣 😅. Keep up the great content my friend. Del 👍

  50. SuperArmus on June 10, 2022 at 7:57 pm

These cheap rip-off clone drones are actually a liability and give the drone community a bad name.
