Recreational Flyers: Get Airspace Authorizations with LAANC

LAANC is the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability, a collaboration between the FAA and Industry. It directly supports drone integration into the National Airspace System (NAS) — and is now available to Recreational Flyers.

It provides access to controlled airspace near airports through near real-time processing of airspace authorizations.

For more information on LAANC, go to our website here:

Two of the three providers charge a fee for service.  Does someone flying a manned aircraft have to pay a fee to get an authorization to operate in Class E, D, C, or B airspace?
