why u dont say how and where u find it trash clip

  2. M on July 30, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Have 2 storage racks, 1limpet controller. Advanced maint tab sees controller but will not let me buy limpets?

  3. Goblet on July 30, 2021 at 9:16 pm

Worst fucking song choice ever. so hard to concentrate on what you’re saying -.-

  4. Rebellious Angel on July 30, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Thanks for this made the mistake of not buying them and the cargo needed. Plus I went and forgot to equip my mining laser

  5. Tankofnova on July 30, 2021 at 9:18 pm

0:33 ‘…purchased in a station under advanced maintenance…’ Came here for this. I was confused as I restocked as I normally do but I had no limpets.

  6. Yetzel González on July 30, 2021 at 9:19 pm

Didn’t buy my limpets before leaving the station….. f me.

  7. Micheloski on July 30, 2021 at 9:20 pm

Very useful for mining the "famous" 500 tonnes of "ore" 😂

  8. nick s on July 30, 2021 at 9:21 pm

dude please help me???? I do not know what I am doing wrong here, I have the collector controller and the prospector controller, and 64 cargo slots, but I can’t get any limpets at a port I go to advanced maint. then try to restock them and the buy option is red. I have no warrent. I have been at this for days.

  9. Mike Oxlong on July 30, 2021 at 9:21 pm

I didn’t know they had a lifetime. I thought they were a one and done thing. Thanks for explaining this for me.

  10. trajan_x on July 30, 2021 at 9:22 pm

    Thanks soooo much

  11. First Last on July 30, 2021 at 9:28 pm

unfortunately there’s no engineer upgrade to fix their fucking brain dead minimum dev effort pathfinding AI

  12. Whitey-Wizard on July 30, 2021 at 9:30 pm

Does anyone know where I can buy a limpet controller? To make a prospector and collector

  13. TheAnhydrite on July 30, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Glad you mentioned that prospector limpets increase mining yeild. A rated prospectors results in a 3.5x increase in fragments.

  14. Evil Ways on July 30, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Yeah, still don’t get it.. Funny how I can mine in Star Citizen, Eve Online, but not in Elite.. Is this mining technique from 1984 as well..? Isn’t it bad enough they have a WWI flight combat simulator for space combat.. :p and they wonder why they cannot get people to play this game.. DUH.. It would be like Eve Online with every ship having a combat range of 1k…. You cannot balance that… and they cannot balance this crap either..

This game should have buried Star Citizen, Eve Online and even X Foundations but the developer are too busy shooting themselves in the foot with overall development for some child’s toy console, and a child’s toy controller, and childish Gameplay…. This companies head is still buried in the 80s.. I just hope some of the Staff Changes fixes this.. Its like these people DONT want to make money, or something…

Game is kind of hard when you have to try to manipulate everything a TWO BUTTON Game Console System…. The extractor should should have been in the damn mining module… or even the Processing Unit.. This type of mining brakes the immersion as no one would have developed this type of mining system.. Its costly, inefficient, wasteful, and time consuming. On top of that its contrary to anything anyone has ever done in an online game..

Its bad enough with a WWI Dogfight Sim in space, what a bunch of goofs…. it doesn’t even make any sense and throws the game immersion right out the window… Then throw goofy mining on top of it….and trying to manipulate it all with just two buttons..

In any case, thanks for your videos they are helpful.. and sorry about the RANT.. lol.. but I got to vent somewhere… Its not like you can do the combat in the game to vent..

Great video! How do you make your camera move so slowly and smoothly?

  16. Jeefly on July 30, 2021 at 9:33 pm

Isn’t this the song from Avatar? Such a good movie

  17. Joshua Baker on July 30, 2021 at 9:36 pm

Can i use fuel limpet on myself

  18. Tikmony on July 30, 2021 at 9:40 pm

The moment you realize, you spent hours in SRV to collect iron and nickel for your limpets, but you can buy them too ….

  19. Malcolm 460 on July 30, 2021 at 9:40 pm

Great stuff. I always learn something new from your ‘Quickie’ videos. Thanks CMDR!

  20. Boondock on July 30, 2021 at 9:40 pm

I’m being absolutely honest, this is a really good and consise guide, but how the hell do you even buy limpet ammo there is nothing telling you how to buy it and there’s nothing that seems obvious to me and there is no guide that explains this and it really annoys me how this game has no proper way to teach new players. Anyways if anyone could reply and explain to me like I’m 5 on how to actually buy limpets I would really appreciate it I’ve been playing for like 3 days and this game teaches nothing.

  21. paschaDE on July 30, 2021 at 9:40 pm

im on the coeloh station right now and i cannot buy them… i use the starter ship… is it to bad to use collector limpets?

  22. HoneyBadger on July 30, 2021 at 9:42 pm

0:27 copy and paste errors and spelling mistakes. Recon and Research "HATCH data terminals" Decon and Repair limpets both "repair hull and canopy" no mention of removing caustic damage.

  23. Rod on July 30, 2021 at 9:43 pm

I assume your basic Limpet Collector limit is only good for one piece of material pickup? I just started using Limpets and I noticed, that when I stop at a Signal Source with Materials and I send out a Controller to pick up a single material I have targeted, it will go get it, come back with material and then state "Limpet Controller Expired". I have a Cargo Rack with 64 Limpets and can go through all 64 really fast picking up materials. So, just wondering if I am doing something wrong, should a single limpet last longer than one piece of material pickup? I’ve also had cases where two Limpets will get "stuck" under my ship… they just sit there, remain blinking at my cargo hatch. Have no idea how to resolve that. I can target them in my panel but can’t DO anything with them. I need to hit Supercruise again and then when I stop, they seem to be gone, BUT, I have stopped and they were still there, like fighting each other to get into the cargo hatch. Thanks!

  24. Florian Weiss on July 30, 2021 at 9:44 pm

How does one program a collector limpet to only target a specific material?

  25. Constantine M. on July 30, 2021 at 9:45 pm

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

    Cool new background music

Always like to point young CMDRs to your vids when they ask innumerable questions regarding things like this. Fly dangerously, CMDR. o7

  29. Sol Chaos on July 30, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Except for you didn’t mention how any of them are actually used. You told us what therefore but not how to use them, how to activate them. This piece of info doesn’t seem to be anywhere. And as a new player it’s one of my biggest questions.

  30. Jessebob Æ on July 30, 2021 at 9:54 pm

    Very good information. Cheers! 🍺

  31. S Mansel on July 30, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Good vid. The music you use should really be mentioned though. In the description if not in the vid

  32. George Gutierrez on July 30, 2021 at 9:58 pm

I like the information in the quick format

  33. lasvista on July 30, 2021 at 9:59 pm

There should only be one type of limpet controller but able to house drones of different type saving us the unecessary hassle of fitting multiple controllers and wasting ship slots.

  34. Darkzide on July 30, 2021 at 10:02 pm

It’s too bad FDev didn’t add an engineering effect to a limpet controller that adds a second programming effect. Such as engineering a hatch breaker limpet controller to also be able to program limpets for collecting.

  35. Ragna Rok on July 30, 2021 at 10:04 pm

Thanks for detailed explanations, I just can’t understand why this damn sick idea of easily destructible drones collecting asteroid chunks is still up. It should be long ago exchanged by some advanced tractor beam that would scoop automatically everything in range directly to our cargo bay or refinery. That is implemented in number of different space games like the X-Universe. Just imagine it’s 32-nd century, colonised universe yet we still use small drones to collect meteorite rocks and these drones explode after picking a few rocks and transferring to the ship. 5 mins operational time before exploding? In 32-nd century? And each drone takes 1 tonne of internal cargo bay? And must be replenished every fucking time? HAHAHA. So stupid. And this for my money!

  36. Camy252 Camy on July 30, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Can the collection limpets be used to collect debris from destroyed ships? Getting really bored of running around with my cargo hold open picking up individual things!

  37. tbirddddd on July 30, 2021 at 10:08 pm

Thanks! I figured out the basics eventually after trying to do a hostage rescue mission that required a return to base. Watching this first would have saved me some time, but at least I got a rundown of other things limpets can do.

No valid collector target….No valid collector target…No valid collector target…No valid collector target…No valid collector target…No valid collector target…No valid collector target Game: are you mad bro?

No valid collector target…No valid collector target…No valid collector target… Me: Stop it! Just stfu, okay?
