Don’t get your drone confiscated in Vietnam airports!
Starting from 2018 Vietnam adopted a new drone law and because of this if you don’t get a permit for your drone and you attempt to bring it into the country you might get it confiscated.

We took a domestic flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang and this being the first flight that we took inside Vietnam we did a little bit of research about the drone laws. That is the moment when we found out that a lot of drones are confiscated in Vietnam airports.

After going through the airport I explain what happened and what you need to know before traveling with your drone in Vietnam.

The rest of the day we rented a scooter and we got stranded at the side of the road because we emptied the gas tank so it was time for a little jogging for me to the nearest gas station. These little adventures are the things you remember over the years.

Hi thanks for the info. you video has the most current info on drones in vietnam 2018. I’m assuming you purchased your drone in Vietnam (ho Chi minh)? Because you get into Vietnam with the drone you need to take an international flight right? thanks

I have my Drone with me, I came from Australia. My "camera fly" is packed in my check in baggage. My batteries are placed in LIPO friendly little bags in my carry on. I have been in Da Nang for one month and have only been asked once to show a permit. The ranger was extremely polite and apologised to me. My understanding so far is there are radars and antennas on the top of the mountain above Lady Buddha. The VN government are sensitive to drones in this area. I have flown my "camera fly" around Lady Buddha" and on all occasions suffered some kind of failure and disconnects. My VN friends have also warned me to be careful. Out of respect for this wonderful country I no longer fly in this area.

So you have nice click bait around new drone laws but don’t actually say anything about drone laws other than your limited experience at the airport. Thanks for wasting 5 minutes.
