  2. Shayne Stephens on October 13, 2021 at 8:22 am

Russ, thank you. Question: Does the DJI app have to be connected to the Mavic Pro in order to keep the setting? I make the changes in the app (while NOT connected to the Mavic Pro) and the settings don’t keep. They reset back.

  5. Anton Oosthuizen on October 13, 2021 at 8:23 am

Settings resulted in much smoother movement during video recording, thank you

  6. Philippe Marland on October 13, 2021 at 8:23 am

Thank you Russ for this settings video. Valuable info.
However, when I checked my settings, I noticed two items down the bottom of the Advance Settings screen:
    1- Brake gain
    2- Yaw sensitivity
You didn’t say anything about them. How important are they? I’m confused.
Thanks and looking forward to your answer.

I have also camped there over by Parshall and if you go into their office they have a big sign on the back wall no drones I asked they said it is a federal park and you cannot fly drones there I tried to educate the young lady she was not interested in that conversation 7/20

  8. sebastian moreno on October 13, 2021 at 8:25 am

Really well explained , awesome video, where can i put you 6 starts

  9. Kevin J. Hurt on October 13, 2021 at 8:27 am

Good video. But do you have to make these changes every time? I made the EXP changes and then was unable to make the sensitivity changes. When I went back to EXP it was back at the default settings. Ideas?

  10. Dan Sohan on October 13, 2021 at 8:28 am

my video sucks and that’s without moving the drone or camera at all. a simply stationary image, too much noise, not sharp enough, poor colour reproduction. Would replacing the camera assembly change anything.

So you call my footage trash? Have a look before saying anything about it. I had the drone 2 weeks when making my second video

  16. Antraun Turner on October 13, 2021 at 8:34 am

GREAT VIDEO! I just started flying my drone this year. I’ve had it on 4K and it drains the battery so quickly. That my next challenge. But great video tho. This really helps me.

  17. Harrycarden on October 13, 2021 at 8:35 am

Hey man, this has been so helpful for me. Keep these videos coming!

  18. Allan Copland on October 13, 2021 at 8:36 am

Good advice. DJI always use settings that are too ‘harsh’ for my liking.

  19. James Crittenden on October 13, 2021 at 8:37 am

Great work lots of good info side note there are some differences. In settings on the Mavic air brake goes from 80 to 150. I have not researched to see if this is an issue on my 2 Pro. However it is definitely there on a Mavic Air. As a side note I understand this is an older aircraft. So I am not sure if it carries over to the Mavic Air 2 but it would be interesting to find out. But the real thing that is killing me is the Mavic Air seems to operate on a frequency Channel "2" as my Bluetooth keyboard so needless to say typing is a handful when it is on at times. Meanwhile awesome job well researched keep it up.

By the way guys he summarises all settings at 10:35. I was taking lots of screenshots before I knew this!!

Russ.. I like your video and you are funny. Anyways, everything you said is easy to understand and great demonstration.

  22. Tim Townsend on October 13, 2021 at 8:42 am

Russ, I have the Mavic air2s and the Mavic 2 Pro. The Mavic 2 Pro exhibits the following behavior before I get "linked": I scroll down and see the message "Gimbal disconnected." Now before hand, the Pro does diagnostics and I see all the possible movements of the gimbal. In addition, I can cause the gimbal’s pitch. Nothing I did fixes the problem. Someone suggested to calibrate the compass which I can’t do because I’m too close to something emitting emi. The warning message: "EMI interfer". GPS signal strength is good.

  26. Glenn Hill on October 13, 2021 at 8:49 am

Dude…Thanks for your good videos but you lost me on this one. I was following right along with this video when you were discussing the sensitivity settings, and when you got to "Yaw" you never said where to put it. The default is 50 but you were sort of jumping all over and then you just went on to "Gain" before finalizing the setting for "Yaw." Max is 250….so I had mine set at 50% or 125 ?? Is that a good setting ??

Even after 2 years, the information provided is still relevant. I changed my settings as instructed and the results were night and day. Thank you!

Would you rate the mavic pro, over the new mini 2 or air 2? I’m an enthusiastic photographer and got around £500 to use. Thinking of a mavic pro used. Thanks.

  36. Steven Shackelford on October 13, 2021 at 8:59 am

Regardinf Mavic Pro AEB. After clicking Camera Icon, then clicking Photo, I only have ‘Single Shot’ Option… nothing else! The other 4 choices are not even there. Thing is it worked earlier today just like you show and I successfulluy did a 3 shot AEB test no problem. But now, those other 4 options only show when the iPhone 8 with IOS 13 & RC, are disconnected from drone. I did a ‘Camera Rest" someone mentioned in a forum, but it did not resolve this problem. I have turned off & turned everything back on to no avail. I have version DJI Go App 4.3.38, & am all updated on the Mavic Pro from the DJI Assistant. Please… any ideas?? Thanks

Hi Russ when you have information that you present to your viewers like the information sheet above. Can you please make into a printable chart for everyone. I am putting together a quick reference file on my clipboard that I take with me when I go fly. All my manuals and relevant information that I collect from you tube. Again thank you for your video and and concentrating on detail.

  43. Kevin Johnson on October 13, 2021 at 9:10 am

I tried to adjust the sensitivity but it wouldn’t do anything is there something that needs to be turned on or off?

  44. Jim Harris on October 13, 2021 at 9:10 am

Hi Russ – Great video (Stop Getting Terrible Footage)! I realize that that your video was posted nearly 3 years ago, so I’m expecting that the differences between the current version of the DJI Go 4 app and the one in your video have been changed by Mavic. I recently purchased a Mavic 2 Pro and really like it, but I realize I’m barely a beginner. As I was watching your video, I was following along with my DJI Go 4 app and when you got to the gimbal settings, my app does not have the Gimbal Pitch Smoothness setting available. Are you aware if Mavic has eliminated that feature? Thanks!

  45. David Pennington on October 13, 2021 at 9:11 am

Hi Russ will this apply to all Mavic drones, I have the Phantom 3 Pro

  46. Matticulous Media on October 13, 2021 at 9:13 am

Russ, I rarely comment on videos, but wanted to tell you how much your videos help me. I am a new owner of the Mavic Pro and the way you explain things really works for me. I only get notifications from one YouTube channel and it is 51 Drones. Now tell us how you came up with that name! Thank you from a loyal follower! Greg in Arizona.

I tried to change the yaw numbers I input .15 but it keeps going to the default of .20

  49. Helen Hilman on October 13, 2021 at 9:18 am

Silly question. I’m getting ready to fly my M2P this weekend for the first time. This is an upgrade from my Mavic Mini. Once I set my drone / controller to the settings you recommended in your video and I power everything down and power back up for the next flight, will my settings be saved, or do I need to do this every time? Thank you in advanced for your time. Great videos by the way, I learn a lot from them.
