Mavic Air 2 Test Flight Ended in DRONE CONFRONTATION (drone police)

Mavic Air 2 Test Flight Ended in DRONE CONFRONTATION (drone police)

Mavic Air 2 test flight ended in drone confrontation with the birdman. This could happen to you despite you know the local drone laws. This is not the right way to approach a drone pilot in operation. Have you experienced anything like this?

If you are in Denmark or Sweden I would recommend buying from the Danish DJI Dealer DRONER.DK otherwise from Amazon 🙂

Proper response: "You are not in authority, here. Mind your own business. Contact law enforcement regarding this matter and leave me alone. Got it?"

  2. Dave Bowman on July 2, 2021 at 11:22 pm

Well you had much more patience with him than I would. Should’ve just told him that he was distracting you and that to do so when a pilot is actively flying a drone is against the law. That if you have an accident as a result it would be deemed his fault.

I fly my Mini 2 in expansive parks and fields and so far no nuisance from the public, if anything people are curious about the technology and want to see more.

  5. Problem Slayer on July 2, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Easy to say afterwards and not actually being there, but would have asked what his authority is to ask you questions. No identification and no authority, no discussion. Flight continues

I was flying my new Autel Evo II Pro in our downtown park when a cop came up to me to see what I was doing… because he was my co-worker at the police department where I work. I took a week of leave to learn how to use the Evo II and to set up my side drone business. While we were there, I kid you not, one of the patrol guys came up and said some woman called because she thought me flying the drone in a public park was "creepy". So there we were, three cops (me in my off-duty street clothes) laughing at how stupid that was. And I just kept flying.

can someone help me find some information on where I can and can not fly my drone in Denmark? I want to avoid this kind of scenario on during my visit coming august 😉
I’m A1/A3 licensed, but all the information I find is in Danish…

  8. damien Behan on July 2, 2021 at 11:28 pm

Every time I drone, I absolutely mentally prepare myself to not engage with a member of the public while I am operating the drone. I have a laminated A4 sheet in Red writing saying “do not approach the drone operator while the drone is in flight” I just hold that up and keep my focus on the drone and refuse to engage with them until the drone is landed safely and powered off. Then, quote them the rules and beat them over the head with your right to fly and operate in that area.

  16. TroColp68 on July 2, 2021 at 11:42 pm

How I handle these types…… Sorry I don’t have time to discuss this, I am fully legally flying as these drones will not fly in restricted areas as they ARE geo-fenced with GPS, if you have issue , please call the authorities and report it… I am getting to back to my job and finishing my work , thank you…

Many birds breed on the lakeshore. I always start at a distance of at least 100m from hedges or lake shores. You can also see the lake well in the video when you are not flying over it. In America it may be different, there is more space. In continental Europe we are just too many people. That is why nature needs its rest.

  24. eduar ed on July 2, 2021 at 11:51 pm

U should of bring the drone back straight to his head lol 🤣🤣🤣

  25. Dave.H on July 2, 2021 at 11:56 pm

Maybe consider subtitles with something like this. Would go much quicker. Take it with a pinch of salt… otherwise I’ll report you to the government 😉

  26. Bori Cua on July 2, 2021 at 11:56 pm

I think that you two are almost the same way in they way that you reacted based on the video, I would had told him to take a walk or he would had become part of my video when I slap the taste out his mouth. That’s what I had done. 👍🏾😬 you definitely would have had gotten more views in this vid. 🤣🤣🤣

  27. K85 FlyBoy vLog on July 2, 2021 at 11:57 pm

I like to never "Over React" with people like him. I usually tell people simply that it’s against the law for me to take my eyes off of the drone, then ignore them and go back to flying. If cops come I show them my license, permit(s), etc.

  28. Paul Creswell on July 2, 2021 at 11:58 pm

I had an older man and lady ask me if I was using the drone to get pictures of birds I said no was at a cliff side I was just there for some nic photos and the lady flew off at me shouting about how I wasn’t aloud to fly it when she was there It was a mini 2 and was properly registered but she didn’t believe me even when I showed her my flyer I.d

  29. Tyson Harris on July 2, 2021 at 11:58 pm

A few reasons this would have been different had it happened in the USA. First, we revere our personal freedoms. For the most part, people understand this and they wouldn’t dare have the nerve to come tell you your business while flying your drone, legal or not. Second, If the person felt it was their right to defend their position then the other is entitled to defend theirs as well. That’s why it’s totally reasonable and expected that an argument could arise if you go on about telling someone their business. Thirdly, the USA has a code of chivalry, which we actually inherited from you Europeans, whereby if we couldn’t settle the argument then it’s necessary to duel to resolve the offense. So it’s likely that if this confrontation had happened in the USA one of you would have ended up in the lake and the other would be the owner of a drone and pair of binoculars.

  30. Embeded Fabrication on July 2, 2021 at 11:59 pm

There’s an easy way around all this when people harass you flying models. Get a bull horn, and shout right in their face, tell them, leave me alone, you’re harassing me, get right up to their face and yell as loud as you can. Try it….it’s works perfectly. Let them call the cops, you’re not doing anything wrong, they were the ones breaking the law harassing you. I try and get them to take a swing at me.

  31. Dayve Ferrick on July 2, 2021 at 11:59 pm

There is a negative stigma attached to drones and unfortunately the improper actions of a few end up generalizing all hobbyist in general. I’ve even had encounters with local authorities and they don’t care about any official paperwork you have. So many misguided understandings of the hobby in general.

  32. Rafael Hoyos Weht on July 2, 2021 at 11:59 pm

In Argentina this would end up in a fist fight after the third word.

  33. Rigger on July 3, 2021 at 12:00 am

You had all the paperwork in place and called the police, before commencing your flying activities. I would have suggested that the gentleman call the police himself. You could be bluffing, but the fact that you are willing to involve the police usually makes people think that you have the law on your side – which you do in this case. They tend to back off then.

A few years ago i was flying about 100m away from lake beside a church and closed cafe. Some dude came up and was saying it wasn’t legal to fly there and that it could disturb potentiall customers to his CLOSED cafe 🙄 I said it’s a legal flight and that I can take some aerial shots of his cafe and email them if he wants. He was very happy and instantly treated me like his new best mate all of a sudden and thanked me 😂

I’m afraid modern society seems to have increased the number of people who hate there lives so much that they want everyone else to be as miserable as them, they can’t stand seeing other people enjoying themselves and don’t seem to understand the concept of "Mind your own business".
    Just ignore the silly people.

In America we call that guy a "Karen". You’re English is very good. I wonder if you could teach us if there is a comparable name in your country? Great videos.

  38. Doug Gould on July 3, 2021 at 12:05 am

You should have landed that drone if you were going to have this long discussion. You were obviously distracted during this encounter, and continued to look away from the the drone and the remote control. Here in US, was are supposed to maintain visual contact with the drone at all times. As a professional pilot, you should have either offered to land your equipment before discussion or asked him to quietly wait a safe distance away while you finished your mission. At the very beginning, you should have said "I’m a licensed pilot with authorization to fly here today," rather enter into a debate about the rules.

  39. Kamil Pleszyniak on July 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

I say always the same.. call police.. 🙂

  40. Vega on July 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

Here in america I would have told him to mind his own business at the very least. He would have ended up pepper sprayed at the worst.

We don’t take that kind of shit here, we have the freedom to do these things, and not be bothered by others.

You’re 100x nicer than I would be to a Karen.

I had a situation like that on the past an old lady came at me and say that I was not allowed to fly my drone because there was an airport nearby (it was 35 miles away) I informed her that I had reviewed the location and notify authorities , then she procced to mentioned that she didn’t felt safe with my drone on the air to what I asked her where she was and I would stay away from her location, she says that she was walking everywhere, to this point I had enough, told her to call the park ranger and police if she wishes to but she was going to receive the same answer, she kept complaining and get closer and closer to me i told her that if she wasn’t happy with her life that was not an excuse to suck happiness out of other people, and she get offended and started attacking me with her purse, I recorded it with the drone, called the police, when they arrived I showed them the video and the old lady got arrested, turns out the lady frequently pick fights with everybody for any reason, for riding bikes, wearing shorts, same sex lovers, dogs, anything, I was asked to sue her, and I did because she broke my controller and scratched my face, I get $5k out of it (she was a rich lady) and she got banned from all the parks on the county

We’ll then they need to post a sign in that spot for all to read.
You did the right thing by getting away from that dumb phuck.

  43. Serial Wheeler on July 3, 2021 at 12:14 am

Thanks for this clip! I keep thinking whether to add a drone to my filming arsenal… encounters like this seem to prove more of a hassle than enjoyment. It appears that you’re mostly limited to very specific or remote areas if you’re doing it legally…

    Cool drone though

  44. jeff malm on July 3, 2021 at 12:14 am

Crazy the amount of registration and information you must submit just to fly a drone there. In USA you don’t even need to show an ID to vote.

  45. Michelle Toni on July 3, 2021 at 12:14 am

You handled it better then I would, funny how these people feel so entitled, I mean, how dare they Invade your space, WHERES, our protection????

i would ask him this : if you make me prove to you that it is leagal to fly here ( and show me this way he doesnt knew the rules wich he claimed and just was troling me ) , next thinkg shure ashured , i will call up the police and take legal action agenst you for herasment . wich i would do !!!! even if i had to tie him up to a tree so he is still there when police came
