I don’t have a problem with this infomercial, for new UAS operators it would be great but the comments above are right, why is it not broadcast as a PSA? What really troubles me is the new PRM. This is not good for either commercial or recreational UAS operations. FAA please place a post on your site to defend the rules and how it will impact the population you serve. I am a software systems engineer that practices Agile development. We have this thing called a scrum master that manages a team. A key principle of the scum master is the ‘servant-leader’ model. The scrum master leads by serving the needs of the community. Please lead by serving the entire aviation community. These rules are not a good way to lead by serving. I cannot speak for others, but I will be commenting on all 400 pages of the NPRM.

It all started with the repeal of 336 buried (hidden) in the middle of NDAA that got signed into law, giving FAA authority over model aircraft they were never meant to have. Unscrupulous. Every time NDAA comes up for renewal we need to make the President aware of the fact that 336 needs to be un-repealed.

$5 to play with a toy? and you have to renew it? This is a huge overstep of FAA authourity!!

"Welcome to aviation"??? Hope to like the way we over-regulate and take away ALL airspace from you in a little under a year.

Why is this NOT on every cable outlet in the Nation ? Very few people of the General public looks at a FAA you tube site
Plus it is time the FAA actually got input from actual normal everyday recreational pilots, instead of the commercial entities and the useless we want to make a dollar AMA…..
The one size fits all ideology has to stop, and the FAA needs to make regs and rules that apply DIFFERENTLY between the many various levels of recreational flyers . and far from the commercial entities they seem to cater to .

Most people who will buy their kid a drone or even themselves will NEVER KNOW there is laws governing them because NO seller/manufacturer addresses that fact and the few that do is simply a one line sentence in a book many never see .

Of every 6 people who think they will be killed by a toy drone, there is 1 person who knows that they will not. If drones can take down a plane, we need to do something about all those birds, because those birds have some may be stronger than Chinese plastics! Those beaks are hard! I bet it would have the damaging potential of a bullet! Better track them birds! The FAA con’t keep helicopters or airplanes from getting too low. Don’t bother putting more safety equipment or regulations on the things that are really killing people…. RIP Koby…

WHY isn’t this an AD on EVERY cable outlet in the Nation FAA ? How many people of the general public looks at FAA you tube site ? Right VERY FEW…and btw , everyone wants safety but yet the FAA still seems to not understand this hobby…to much applies to commercial entities and then try and place that same ideology on recreational flyers….they are FAR APART and the one size fits all ideology has to STOP…….Please get some real normal everyday recreational flyers experience and knowledge within your ranks, and stop listening to entities that only want to make a dollar like the AMA and many Drone companies……and get the REAL message out to Mr and Mrs General public something you and the AMA and others continue to fail to do…..

For the 1/5 the cost of a toy you should probably give a course on how to fly rather than just attach rules.
