Just saw the commercial. Nice shooting Tex!!

  2. Atort Photography on April 24, 2021 at 1:31 am

Thanks for letting us in it’s cool to see. Worked on sets like this for still photography never drones…yet. 🙂 I just bought an Inspire 2 and that’s for sure not my toy drone for now! 😂🙈🤙🏾🤙🏾

  3. Shane Little on April 24, 2021 at 1:32 am

I find it hilarious that in your thumbnail you’re standing on a mountain with a useless fucking mask on. Careful, might get sick!

  4. Damian Wierenga on April 24, 2021 at 1:32 am

Peeps the name of the location but shows the coordinates…

  5. Warren Nelson on April 24, 2021 at 1:33 am

If only they had had a drone, right? 🙂

Pic of the day: Film beyond the frame

  6. llshamelessll on April 24, 2021 at 1:33 am

In the end the director was impressed….he will tell his friends about you…future work coming

  7. andy5478 on April 24, 2021 at 1:34 am

What vehicle is the commercial for?

  8. Scout FPV on April 24, 2021 at 1:34 am

    Love your vids

  9. Tagger12496 on April 24, 2021 at 1:34 am

wow thats funny. i was just in that area last weekend. my shitty ftw drive car made it through those rough roads ahahah.

  10. Kevin on April 24, 2021 at 1:35 am

As a professional DP who’s worked with… more than 15 different aerial teams all over the world, this director is just a rude dick. No two ways to slice it man. No one should justify that kind of behavior.

  11. LJ Prep on April 24, 2021 at 1:36 am

I think you may be one of the early adopters of the Recruit drones from when they come out, yes, Trent? And spare carbon struts should be included with rentals of that model (and others?) in the very near future, eh? (Couldn’t hot-glue or cable-tie a tongue depressor onto it right then?) LOL Glad you got through that. Please tell us when we can see the commercial you shot for!

  12. Tom Smith on April 24, 2021 at 1:36 am

The takeaway for me is, if you’re doing this for a living, know your environment and have a backup plan. Spare rig was PERFECT. My view on the director is that it reminds me of a quote from Pulp Fiction "If I’m curt with you, it’s because time is a factor here." It’s just a car commercial, the guy’s not going to Sundance. It’s just money and the stress is all artificial. So you just roll with it and fly the drone, as you did. Way less real stress than being 8′ off the ground at 100mph or whatever in an agcat.

  13. Scout FPV on April 24, 2021 at 1:36 am

    Submission Masks.NWO loves you.

  14. -walf- on April 24, 2021 at 1:36 am

I saw your filming in time square

  15. James Segrest on April 24, 2021 at 1:36 am

This guy is a teddy bear.

  16. Amir Terkel on April 24, 2021 at 1:40 am

Another well produced "life at work" video – loved it. Could relate to minute. Faster Faster – why the f$%! you flying so fast you missed it ! Arggg… Anyhow, I’m sure it came out epic. Keep ’em comin’ and keep smiling.

  17. Neil Geitner on April 24, 2021 at 1:40 am

This was for the new Subaru wasn’t it? The background looks the same. I know you probably can’t say.

  18. Drone Crash TV on April 24, 2021 at 1:44 am

This is great. Love to see your crash collection!

  19. ICanDoItMyself on April 24, 2021 at 1:48 am

    I miss your intro… 🙁

  20. HiddenWindshield on April 24, 2021 at 1:49 am

Was the commercial for the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek? I just had an ad for that, and some of those roads looked really familiar, so just thought I’d ask.

  21. The Scattered Thought on April 24, 2021 at 1:49 am

    Great Video!

  22. LKLM Media on April 24, 2021 at 1:50 am

Have been enjyoing your work for a while now Trent – keep it up.

Would love to get some ballparks on what you charge for that sort of job. 4 days, Significant travel, Plus obviously your own crew…Would be happy to IM for the info – I’m in Australia and trying to break into a Market that is so hard to gauge mostly from a Pricing perspective because Customers themselves don’t know what to expect. We are experienced videographers, and experienced pilots – but putting the both together in a business model that works to Get, and Continue to get paid work is a struggle – Both before, and During Restrictions of course.

  23. Project Brickell on April 24, 2021 at 1:50 am

An R5 over an X7?!? What a joke! I know it wasn’t your call originally but that’s pretty ridiculous. The X7 camera on the inspire is a cinema grade camera 14bit 6k prores raw we’re not even on the same planet comparing that to a R5.

  24. TJ on April 24, 2021 at 1:51 am

R5 just ruining everyone’s life lol. Shoulda gone with Komodo for this!

  25. Josh Stohr on April 24, 2021 at 1:52 am

So cool to see live on set material! We wanna see more of this and what u do Trent !

  26. Seth Love Anderson on April 24, 2021 at 1:53 am

I know exactly where this is! The area is very popular for car commercial shoots. We’ve had a few of the film crews stay in our hotel.

I always have trouble with GPS interference flying my drone there. It is a challenging place to fly with interference, wind, and air density.

  27. EDAN HEYQAL on April 24, 2021 at 1:55 am

  28. Kent Spence on April 24, 2021 at 1:55 am

That director is obnoxious I hope you make some pretty pennies working with him.

  29. Alligator Monday on April 24, 2021 at 1:56 am

To the people who think this director is too harsh or tough, try working in a professional kitchen.

This director is a god damn saint.

I wouldn’t have it any other way. Direct speech, very specific instructions and high standards gets shit done every time.

I’d never work under a sheep of a chef, and I’ll never be domesticated like people are becoming these days.

  30. Kev Sims on April 24, 2021 at 1:57 am

Whats weird is wearing a mask outside at 12,000 ft.

  31. AirWorthy Tours on April 24, 2021 at 1:58 am

Why is it a weird time to be a drone pilot?

  32. axdicaire on April 24, 2021 at 2:02 am

    So the new Bronco… Right?

  33. Dylan Taylor on April 24, 2021 at 2:02 am

Man that’s some professionalism. The director really knows what he wants… Awesome video.

  34. James Stepp on April 24, 2021 at 2:02 am

I understand that it’s hard to get permission to show "a day at MY job" a lot of the time, but just know that your work is VERY interesting to us,so no need to stress about it. If you do a job where they don’t mind you showing how it’s done, that’s cool. Otherwise, you have PLENTY of other content we enjoy. And you’ve probably gotten a LOT of "I wish I was a Pilot" viewers to grit their teeth and make that first call about flying lessons. (MY dream is to have one of those VW powered gyro-copter kits.) Stay safe, brother.

  35. SCS Sarge on April 24, 2021 at 2:03 am

    Ford bronco are good looking.

  36. Ed Moore on April 24, 2021 at 2:04 am

Anyone in the comments thrown by that director hasn’t worked with many directors 😆 PS nice COVID-secure handshake at the end (keep making the same mistake myself)

  37. Tony Skiens on April 24, 2021 at 2:05 am

That’s why you bring duct tape

  38. Chris Lostumo on April 24, 2021 at 2:05 am

the film biz is crazy now
Chicago is mostly sill in holding pattern

  39. TJ Martin on April 24, 2021 at 2:06 am

I murdered my inspire last week my spotter took his eye off the drone and we hit a tree going backwards and it was too late

  40. johnhs51 on April 24, 2021 at 2:06 am

This is directed to commentators, not Trent. Reading comments below, there seems to be a lot of hostility toward the director. Granted, we only saw little bits of the action, but he seemed totally reasonable to me. If you’ve ever worked in a situation with actual consequences and you are the one upon whose shoulders it all rests, expect direct speech without the usual social niceties. For example; if you are on a racing sail boat, the captain is going to be blunt, but you learn to roll with the boat and with the skipper’s orders. It can be harsh in the thick of things, but the aftermath is golden. You finish the race and you have stories to tell. Another example would be the military…

With the primary drone out of action and the backup drone (the ‘toy’) carrying the footage, there is a lot of pressure. Trent handled that beautifully and got the shot. Love to watch a pro at work no matter what the field of endeavor.

By the way, Trent, it is really interesting to see you at work. If you can add the occasional video of your actual work to your channel mix, I think many of us find it fascinating. And, thank you for going down the Youtube road. Your videos are inspiring and oh so interesting.

  41. Milos Jovanovic on April 24, 2021 at 2:07 am

    Commercial for Jeep? 😀

  42. Der Uhu on April 24, 2021 at 2:08 am

You know that you can just tipe 37°56’32" N 107°43’31" W and see where you were (; 6:40

  43. moonranch on April 24, 2021 at 2:15 am

Good job on the Subaru Outback Wilderness filming. The scenery is epic.

  44. Cameron Davidson on April 24, 2021 at 2:18 am

You reveal a location when you show the iphone.

  45. Rob & Mary Kunzig on April 24, 2021 at 2:19 am

So Trent, can you attach the actual commercial when it comes out? I would be cool to watch the two together!

  46. Rob Cook on April 24, 2021 at 2:19 am

Sorry, I would get that guy a cup of tea and a directors monitor away from me before I slap the crap out of him. I can see the director can "see" it in his head, but he can’t communicate what he "see’s" in his head.

  47. Michael Scott on April 24, 2021 at 2:20 am

Trent: "we had to use the inspire which we consider a toy drone"
    Dji Inspire: $5000+ drone
    Me with my mavic: "oh"

  48. DJI Drones and Stuff on April 24, 2021 at 2:20 am

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard the Inspire 2 referred to as a "toy drone"!

  49. Rick Anderson on April 24, 2021 at 2:22 am

Thanks for taking me along on that one, I’m a stage hand and a drone pilot in Edmonton Alberta and that was awesome. Thanks again. WoW.
