Is a Generic Drone Battery for Phantom 4 Pro Worth it?

I 100% recommend these batteries. Just because they are generic, doesn’t mean they are any lesser quality than DJI. This one performed beautifully, just the same as the DJI. It is important to note the capacity is slightly lower, but it doesn’t effect flight time much.

Hello from 🎄🎁🎄Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🎄🎁🎄 I’m a new Phantom 4PRO plus owner 2 months 😎can you tell me how many months or years can I expect from my batteries before I need to buy more ?? I also have a Mavic Pro with 3 batteries I had over 11 months with no Problems with my batteries

  2. Serge Thomas on September 7, 2022 at 8:32 pm

I would stay away from these generic batteries. I use DJI phantoms for my professional mapping work and the pin connectors are the ones that fail first. You can check on amazon for the reviews. Luckily, I did not have any that failed but after examining the pins, I came to the conclusion that they are not safe (especially since I fly over water at 400′). Be aware.

Any follow up on the generic batteries? Are they holding up for you? I see mixed reviews on them so I am a bit leary on trying them!

  4. Sylvain juneau on September 7, 2022 at 8:33 pm

    Great effective.

  5. Hugo Soca on September 7, 2022 at 8:35 pm

wrong comparation generic is 5350 and original is 5870 …you must compare with a 5870 generic

  6. Urban De Souza on September 7, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Thanks for the compare test between generic (5350mAH) and OEM (5870mAH) battery for the P4P. The part you did’nt compare is the life extending controls on the batteries…perhaps the OEM will run more cycles (full charge to discharge is one cycle) to end of life than the generic. Then that would be a fuller comparison. Understand that is hard to put into a video.

Yes, do this setup again. I love your reactions to the "moster in the woods". I’d be freaking out too, but there would be no video proof. Therefore, I would deny ever being scared. However, we get to watch and laugh with you as you react to different sounds your brain is unable to process as a normal everyday sound you’re used too. Cheers from Seattle

How do you “Charge” up the battery

  9. R Jagan on September 7, 2022 at 8:41 pm

Hey, Jeremy would you recommend these batteries for the P4 original in 2020? My Original battery of 3 years puffed up.

  11. Nine Ten Drones on September 7, 2022 at 8:44 pm

Don’t ever buy power extra or other after market batteries for your drones

very good to know about generic batteries

  15. Arnav Nagpal on September 7, 2022 at 8:50 pm

Woah it would be scary to see a random ass guy with two led lights and a camera standing infront sitting under a drone with an iPad Pro on the side lmao

  16. Dee on September 7, 2022 at 8:50 pm

Guess you will find out if your drone falls out of the sky 🙂 if your gonna pay $1400 i wouldn’t cheap out now and risk losing your drone.

  17. SIG PLATAFORMA DE ANALISIS on September 7, 2022 at 8:50 pm

    promotional codes do not work

  18. Rob Nolan on September 7, 2022 at 8:51 pm

there are generic batteries with the same 5870mAH capacity of the DJI Phantom 4 battery.

  21. dennis fong on September 7, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Jeremy, you need to go to the zoo more often … lol :)) or quit watching the "twilight zone" … or carry a bullhorn to scare the roaming munsters …

  22. Wei Yao on September 7, 2022 at 8:55 pm

*It is a very nice piece of equipment🌟>**JustU.Faith/-DJIDrone?畔** that easily provides very nice photos and videos and is simply fun to fly. The case stinks but we know that going in. Plan to purchase a better storage option as part of the budget.*

  23. Mitch on September 7, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Truth is, I get bored flying more tthan 15 minutes or so.

  24. David Stephens on September 7, 2022 at 8:56 pm

Just my opinion, I probably wouldnt skimp on the cheap batteries with a high dollar investment like that, now if it were a cheaper drone, say a first gen parrot bebop, generic batteries all day.

  25. John Dean on September 7, 2022 at 8:57 pm

For one, your not putting any real use loads on the battery from just hovering… So you wont ever tell if the battery can handle real loads and stressing on the cells. You should always stress test your battery dji or generic to see the loads on the cells and do so low to ground in case of fail. Fuck non dji batteries. Lay off the drugs.

  28. Chinmay Anand on September 7, 2022 at 9:03 pm

Does battery gets hang while updating the drone ?

  29. Curt Martini on September 7, 2022 at 9:05 pm

I have thought about these batteries many times.
But I just can’t do it. The risk to a $1499 drone is not worth the worry that something could go horribly wronge.
I’d like too, but try as I might, I can’t justify it.

  30. Don Gerra Marco on September 7, 2022 at 9:07 pm

    what a coward

  31. Mitch on September 7, 2022 at 9:07 pm

Just ask yourself this, if the generic had the name Duracell on it and the DJI OEM had Made In China on it, would you feel differently about using a generic?

  32. Robert Boyer on September 7, 2022 at 9:08 pm

Illuminati in the forest watch out bro !!!! lol

  33. Sebastian Georger on September 7, 2022 at 9:08 pm

No after market batteries for me. The power cut and DJI denied a repair

  34. Tony Stagge on September 7, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Do they have the "intelligent" circuitry to discharge to 65% when not used for a while, etc?
I would try one for non water flights. I already lost one drone in the drink.

  35. Carson_287 on September 7, 2022 at 9:10 pm

The dji battery is more safe

  36. Gary Joseph on September 7, 2022 at 9:10 pm

    Thanks

  37. Jay Blanton on September 7, 2022 at 9:11 pm

I have two generic batteries in my old phantom 3 standard and they last just as long as the official battery, but I don’t think I’d put 3rd party batteries in my p4p or p4pv2.0 simply because DJI May lock them out on an update after purchasing- but as for the quality itself, my experience has been they work just as good as the “official” ones. They all are made in Chinese factories anyway, and depending on the brand, some may even be made in the same factory contracted to make the official DJI batteries!

  38. Steve Bynum on September 7, 2022 at 9:11 pm

Trust me on this, DJI will void the warranty if a battery malfunctions and the battery is not an official DJI battery. Not worth it to me to go generic.

  39. MICHAEL A JACKSON PHOTOGRAPHER LLC on September 7, 2022 at 9:12 pm

Do they sell inspire 2 batteries?!?!

  40. Илья Разный on September 7, 2022 at 9:13 pm

Hello from Moscow, Russia. I liked your video. It’s been a long time, what can you say about these batteries now?

  41. Papa Daddy on September 7, 2022 at 9:14 pm

DJI Battery’s used to cost about $85.00, but because of that Bumble Fuk Trump,… they are now $185.00! That’s why I am here investigating!

  42. Mystica Creations on September 7, 2022 at 9:16 pm

  44. Hunter Winsor on September 7, 2022 at 9:19 pm

Hey thanks dude, really helpful, gonna pick up 4 generics.

  45. Nick Alati on September 7, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Thanks, Great information – I use my Phantom 3 Pro about twice a day / 5 days a week for Home Inspections. I fly about 10 to 12 minutes a flight (twice a day on average), I keep 4 batteries in the case and one in the Drone (So 5 on hand). With all that said, 4 @ $640 vs $320 and only losing about 5 minutes of flight per battery – not worth getting the DJI. Thanks Nick

  46. JustifyJustin on September 7, 2022 at 9:21 pm

The price of the batteries sure does push one’s purchase decision towards the Mavic range – with comparable or better flight time :/

  47. Live Streaming Live on September 7, 2022 at 9:22 pm

    Any battery safe

  48. Oliver kersh on September 7, 2022 at 9:22 pm

what you forgot to mention is the Generic Drone Battery is heavier then the dji, not sure how it will effect the flying.

  49. droneXfactor on September 7, 2022 at 9:26 pm

    Cool

  50. Julito Bernales on September 7, 2022 at 9:28 pm
