Impossible Aerospace: Your 2-Hour Flying Battery

Impossible Aerospace: Your 2-Hour Flying Battery

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew hears from Spencer Gore, the CEO of Impossible Aerospace. The company, which plans to build both manned and unmanned electric-powered aircraft, introduced its US-1 quadcopter drone at the 2018 InterDrone Conference in 2018. The US-1 does not have interchangeable batteries. Instead, the entire aircraft is a flying battery, and is re-charged between flights. The time to re-charge the aircraft is 45 minutes, so with a flying time between 90 minutes and two hours, having a pair of US-1 drones means users can have unlimited flying time.

I really like this idea of the batteries being part of the frame so to speak,if this takes off (Pun intended) watch the copies come out thick and fast.

Still i’ve got to say i’m impressed and i also realise this type of quad/drone isn’t amid at us the RC fliers but to the big companies and first responders and of the like,so take that in mind when talking about said price, just thought i’d put that out there.

You failed to ask key questions… For example, questions about the payloads, what kind of thermal cameras were they offering, low resolution cheap ones like the one in the Mavic 2 Enterprise, or Good 640 resolution ones… What’s the Range, ect…?… See those questions weren’t asked! 🤔 You need to return to that booth and re-do your interview… We’ll be waiting for that to happen…👍🏾

"Electric cars make a lot of sense for the same reasons that electric cars make a lot of sense."

Electric cars make no sense at all; therefore, he’s saying his craft doesn’t make any sense. Go gasoline!

7k drone flying with a $100 controller? That looks like an off the shelf FrSky qx7.

A gas powered heli can stay up longer just refill it. Lol. For an on the job drone cheaper is better, like search and rescue, fire management and any other public service. But for big brother surveillance 2 hours non stop is the way to go. Now just put solar charging on it.

$7,000 for the drone plus $9,000 for the transmitter and screen… Impossible! 😜👊
