ImmersionRC's Vortex Racing Quadcopter

ImmersionRC's Vortex Racing Quadcopter

We’ve shown you how to build your own racing quadcopter, but here’s a ready-to-fly kit that can get you flying sooner. We chat with ImmersionRC about their upcoming Vortex 250mm quad, which was designed with FPV flying in mind. It comes bundled with all the essential components pre-installed and integrated–all you need is a transmitter and video goggles.

This video was shot with a Sony PXW-X70 camera, which we’re testing. Thanks to B&H for providing us with gear for CES! Check it out here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1072752-REG/sony_pxw_x70_professional_xdcam_compact.html

    Cool! Nice Copter! 🙂

  9. Nate Cordova on July 31, 2021 at 9:27 pm

350-380 my ass…its 450 on their site. If you are just getting started, get a cheaper quad that is under 300. TX and googles/monitor will be additional costs.

Boris B, Charpu, MetallDanny and UmmaGawd having been putting this beast through its paces and it is performing incredibly well. The ability to tune PIDs on the OSD like that out of the box is amazing! My only complaint? It’s March 30th and I’m still anxiously waiting!

  11. Shawn Hawkins on July 31, 2021 at 9:30 pm

They changed the LEDs. It doesn’t have the rainbow function and the button is for changing freq on the fpv

  12. GatzMaximus on July 31, 2021 at 9:31 pm

  23. hossmouk on July 31, 2021 at 9:38 pm

  24. DronerUK on July 31, 2021 at 9:39 pm

Like the look of this mini! Couple of questions tho,
With such small ESC’s (9mm)..is this quad limited to 3S?
With the ESC built into the arms would you have to replace the arm to swap an ESC out? @ £$?

  25. ABMNS PRODUCTION on July 31, 2021 at 9:40 pm

Where can u buy these multirotor/quadcopters.
    Or
    When does it comes out

  29. doluseb on July 31, 2021 at 9:41 pm

small motors, tubular CF with plastic everywhere. ccd cam looks straight on…this is probably going to be one of the most fragile/not that quick racing minis out there. for 380 you can build quite a nice one.

  30. nanoverse on July 31, 2021 at 9:41 pm

  33. Stephen Wright on July 31, 2021 at 9:43 pm

would it be possible to easily add a GPS system on this also?

  34. kennethpappas on July 31, 2021 at 9:45 pm

This would be hell to repair with everything buried.

  35. Wyvern on July 31, 2021 at 9:48 pm

Although I do like the looks of a clean layout- it makes for unnecessarily difficult or involved repairs.

I always try to build everything modular and easy to access first, and pretty second.

  36. Michael Moody on July 31, 2021 at 9:51 pm

When will the Vortex be available?

  37. sgtsnakeeyes11 on July 31, 2021 at 9:55 pm

    they forgot to test it

  38. Danny Lightning on July 31, 2021 at 9:56 pm

If a kit is ready to fly you should not need to buy anything else to fly it.   it should have everything that you need to fly it in the kit,  it shoud be built and everything programmed and ready go go,    just charge the battery, check to make sure everything is working correctly and in order and its 100% ready to fly.    buy a plane or helicopter RFT kit and you get the  aircraft, receiver, radio, battery, charger  the whole shebang and its all built and programmed and ready to go.    charge the battery, power it up and fly right out of the box nothing else needed. .   so this is really a almost ready to fly kit.  not sure why they are saying these quad kits are ready to fly when they are not,   you still need to purchase at least something to make it ready to fly so it is not ready to fly.

  39. Scott TurboSix on July 31, 2021 at 10:01 pm

estimated 350-380 in the video. now that its out, $450

  40. Benjamin McDonnell on July 31, 2021 at 10:03 pm

I have a problem with my Vortex. I have really bad yawing to the left. The more i push the throttle. The more it spins to the left. Strange thing is that it only happens with 3s packs. If i use 4s. It doesn’t happen at all. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

  45. Amron coory on July 31, 2021 at 10:07 pm
