ILLEGAL TO FLY DRONES IN CANADA UNLESS…

It is now illegal to fly your drone in Canada unless you get some certifications done. Fly your drone in Canada and you might get in trouble with the law if you are not a Canadian citizen. Hope these laws change soon so content creators can keep creating with out jumping through hoops.

Aren’t DJI drones already registered? I thought DJI take all your details when you fist buy it?

The test actually wasnt very difficult, once I understood what they wanted. They dont want you to KNOW what most of everything in the exam does. But they want you to know, that
    A) this is to be taken seriously
    B) drones are aircrafts.
    C) they can be dangerous if used improperly.

That said, it is a bit overkill, but, the rules, and allowances are at least somewhat reasonable.

The drone license is so unnecessary I agree lol… I have to go study for that now too. Glad your drone is okay tho overall man, we’ll be needing it 😂

What a crock again from Canadian tax collectors. In USA even a kid can go out and fly one. Just another cash grab red tape. They want to regulate everything 🤣😢🤣😢

Hearing sbout these new laws make me sad. I got to use a Phantom 4 for over 2 years working on a feature length film. Never had a problem that affected anyone but me, but with these new laws, I won’t be able to relive the feeling of flying that thing unless my director is willing to pay for certification -_-

  25. Rick Anderson on June 10, 2022 at 8:10 pm

You can thank all the idiots that flew to close to where they should not of been, also over people and events. I did the license exam and it was a breeze and if you cant do it, stick to little boy Drones under 249 grams. Not cool scaring others that it is so hard to do the exam just because it was hard for you.

This doesn’t apply to sub-250g drones like the Mavic Mini right?
