How to Program a Drone Delivery with Waypoints – Phantom 4

Autonomous drone flight: THE FUTURE IS HERE! Today we are taking the newest drone from DJI, the Phantom 4, and programming it to deliver a package using something called ‘waypoints’. These allow the drone to follow a specific set of instructions using GPS, and the BEST PART is that when the flight plan is set! No pilot is needed! It is purely autonomous.

DJI has apps that can be downloaded on both iPhone and Android. So its the best of both worlds. This is the same type of software that Amazon would use for their drone delivery system… just on a much larger scale.

This YouTube video was filmed entirely on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

For the past couples month of watching your videos especially your camera comparisons, I’ve been trying to figure where in Utah you are. I had a hunch because certain landmarks looked familiar, but by this video I should now have a definite answer. I gotta say, if I’m correct it is super cool that I live in the proximity of youself/where this video was made! Love the videos, keep it up!=)

with this app you can set waypoint before you have to actually fly the mission. This app has been made in collaboration with DJI. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aryuthere.visionplus

  30. B Tango on August 4, 2020 at 9:12 am

Is there a way to set the waypoints without flying the route first?

  31. Tom Spallone on August 4, 2020 at 9:13 am

I don’t get it; you have to actually fly the mission in order to program the way points? I’m looking for something where I can program coordinates before hand, load into drone and let ‘er go. Is that possible?

  32. Blender3DProjects on August 4, 2020 at 9:13 am

I delivered flowers to my wife with p3. Delivering the flowers was a success BUT I forgot to tell her to cut ribbons off the p3. So heading to homepoint was a big fail, the ribbon got caught up with the props and drop on to a busy street and cracked opened like a peanut.
