That is just so cool that there are guys just sitting there in ATC waiting for your request to come in so they can cheerfully give you permission. It’s just so awesome! I heard they wear uniforms with bow ties and bus driver hats.
I use that app religiously. Sometimes I use Airmap and B$UFLY as well as a backup. Very useful. Can not wait until they activate it for JFK.
Great Demo of Kitty Hawk Mikey. I use both Kitty Hawk and Airmap, I find Airmap easyer. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go.👍👍🤜

I used Kittyhawk and live 8 miles away from an airport but it says LAANC not available even though the airport in question has LAANC. Might be because the FAA UAS map has a "0" ceiling. FAA stated I needed part 107 and I needed to get auhorization but could be a 90 day wait.
I love the new direction your channel is taking buddy. Great way to pick yourself up and let others learn through your past mistakes and show us all how to fly safely and legally while still being able to have a lot of fun with the hobby! It’s a lot harder to get shots in the city this way but I reckon you could get a lot of the amazing shots you used to by taking off closer to your subject in order to avoid flying over moving cars and keeping it in LOS. Coming from a guy who flies in LA a lot you have shown me how to fly in the city safely but more importantly how to have a ton of fun while doing it! Happy holidays Mikey keep flying 😎
