How to fly a drone near an airport legally | Full CASA process explained

Here is the full CASA and NOTAM application process for flying a #drone within 3NM of an airport in Australia!

If you are looking to fly drones for a living check out our skillset courses:

As CASA ReOC holder, we get this question a lot and there isn’t much information out there for new pilots & businesses so…. we have created a video on the full process of what we went through for this job, from the planning, pre-production to the costs and writing a NOTAM!

There are 6 steps in this video, jump to the sections below:
1- 2:44 The Brief– Clients request & how a drone survey & #photogrammetry was the answer for them.
2- 5:32 Prep & Research – before submitting the application
3- 6:35 CASA Application
4- 8:33 CASA Estimate letter – the $800+ fee they charge you!
5- 9:30 Obtaining an instrument – what it means?
6- 11:40 Issuing a NOTAM – How to fill it out, submit it & check
7- 15:28 DMA – Level up!

Huge process, hope this helps!
Happy flying legends.
