How To Build The World's Lightest 5 Inch Racing Drone!

How To Build The World's Lightest 5 Inch Racing Drone!

In today’s video we build the world’s lightest FPV full 5 inch racing drone! Most racers come in around 250-300 grams some even more. This build all the way done, running 4s and full 5 inch props weighs in at 129 grams!!!

You can tell in the flight footage in the end that it even flies different, it’s kind of hard to handle because even the slightest touch of the throttle sends it to the moon!!

How does it hold up in a crash?
I cut a frame so similar to this 2 years ago but it went to the box of shame never to be tested. I might have to pull it out and see if i can get it lighter 😉

Is this a Dave_C FPV frame? If not, Ironically, he also has designed and cut a toothpick 5” frame, pretty cool!

  3. _GroX _ on July 2, 2021 at 11:27 pm

Yeah, ultralight, more flight time, handles like a dream but fragile as hell. That’s the tradeoff.

  4. Mantis FPV on July 2, 2021 at 11:28 pm

    Good build…but…
Why was the video so choppy/glitchy? You were flying so close

  5. TDOG FPV on July 2, 2021 at 11:30 pm

Not the lightest, check . There was someone that made a sub 250 gram quad AUW

  6. Pixelcounter on July 2, 2021 at 11:31 pm

Looks awesome bro. Good Job 👊🏻🍻

  7. Skvader FPV on July 2, 2021 at 11:31 pm

I own the same frame. The srruggle for escs is real. I hot a spedix IS35 that fits great. I have a mamba f722mini for FC. Thanks for the video.

  8. Angel Adriann Manalang on July 2, 2021 at 11:35 pm

what flight time you get with it cruising around? mine flies for 13minutes with ovonic 4s 1550😁

  9. Danimal 3D on July 2, 2021 at 11:36 pm

Bro you’ve gotta let me rip this thing ay your house soon

  10. Wayne Filkins on July 2, 2021 at 11:36 pm

What battery did you use? Was it something particularly lightweight? I didn’t see mention of a battery in the whole video. May be able to drop more weight with lighter battery

  11. Baro Oxide on July 2, 2021 at 11:37 pm

    wow. considering

  12. TomColontonio on July 2, 2021 at 11:38 pm

  20. Do RC on July 2, 2021 at 11:53 pm

  21. Manaseh Adams on July 2, 2021 at 11:53 pm

  25. Mantis FPV on July 3, 2021 at 12:00 am

It looks like it will fly very well but durability is extremely questionable

  26. Mattia Gatti on July 3, 2021 at 12:00 am

Can you give me a link for the fpv watch?

  27. dilbert mcfly on July 3, 2021 at 12:03 am

You are an inspiration. Great job. Love the funny quibs!!

    I’m building similar using Armattan 5" frame, RCInPower 1506, with a HLGLR 28A 20mm stack, but Tattu 1050mah 4s.
To keep weight low, crappt Eaching TX06.

  28. HÆX A. on July 3, 2021 at 12:06 am

Do you know what’s causing the 2x b&w flicker?

  29. ErgoFPV on July 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

Would be interesting to see if it can survive in real racing environment and also be competitive to those 300 gram 6s monsters that everyone builds these days. I’m also sceptical about the efficiency of the smaller stator size when overpropped that much. Any chance for you drop by a race or give it to a racing pilot?

  30. Brian Ladmirault on July 3, 2021 at 12:12 am

After building this, is there any part spec you might have changed up a little bit? Reason being, is Im wanting to build one myself. And would you recommend the build?

  31. RADER FPV on July 3, 2021 at 12:13 am

This was fun to watch, definitely a funny build. Great rip at the end👍

  32. Jacque Meier on July 3, 2021 at 12:17 am

    What is the motor size?

  33. יהונתן בן זקן on July 3, 2021 at 12:18 am

Favorite fpv youtuber by far. Keep it going my dude👍🏽

  34. Todd Musser on July 3, 2021 at 12:19 am

JEEESH! I bet that was frustrating waiting for parts to get it all together! Way to hang in there, very interesting…hope it can take some crashes.
