All these people that say its great to register your drone cos you will get it back if you lose it?!
Is it that simple? Just pop a sticker on and itl be in the post next day should you lose it?
Im pretty sure they have other reasons beside find my drone…… money?
Sorry for that rant Sean! Great video once again 👍👍

  5. Big Matt 423 on November 23, 2020 at 9:11 pm

Most cops after an interaction say that same thing that they want to get a drone.

  6. Ian Kelly on November 23, 2020 at 9:11 pm

    Sound advice Sean!

  7. maxair420 on November 23, 2020 at 9:11 pm

  8. Phantom Video on November 23, 2020 at 9:13 pm

Quite possibly the best video you have produced Sean – thanks.

Good practice is to wear a bodycam yourself if flying alone. I’ve been threatened to be shot with a shotgun by a lunatic local when flying within an FRZ – with full Airport Tower permission.

The Police, typically have absolutely no idea what the rules are – and really don’t like being filmed, especially live streamed. However, if you do attend a protest environment and are positive you can fly there – then always seek out the Inspector on the ground and ‘inform’ them where you will be flying, and what you will and won’t be doing with the drone.

Chances are you won’t be bothered at all after that, well – most of the time anyway.

Can I shoot down a drone snooping over my garden pool?

  10. Simon Everett on November 23, 2020 at 9:13 pm

    Thanks for the info.

  11. Mick Coward on November 23, 2020 at 9:13 pm

On a completely different matter could you confirm what the mavic air at 480g falls into on the new rules, is it C1? Would you need a Acofc to fly it as a hobbyist? Like the channel keep the good work up.

  12. RICK HALBUR on November 23, 2020 at 9:14 pm

Thanks Sean all very good tips

  13. Enigmatt on November 23, 2020 at 9:14 pm

I hope that copper has a flyer ID 😉

  15. Sky Captain Aerial Imaging on November 23, 2020 at 9:15 pm

Have held a PfCO since early 2015. So have lots of experience being questioned by police and security officers whilst flying legally. Never had any issues after talking to them and showing respect. One situation led me to work closely with South Yorkshire Police which was very rewarding to know I could help to educate officers.

  16. falconidaes on November 23, 2020 at 9:17 pm

Tip. 6. Set Return To Home position mile away. Drone? What drone?

  17. Phantom HodgesDrone on November 23, 2020 at 9:17 pm

I thought you might pull a Benny Hill

  18. Dragons Eye Filming on November 23, 2020 at 9:18 pm

A lot of Police do know the legislation and you seem to make a lot of assumptions.

  19. BigG UAV on November 23, 2020 at 9:19 pm

Great advice Sean, I would do exactly the same at the end, let the officer have a play lol 🙂

  20. CaptureLifeConnection on November 23, 2020 at 9:21 pm

Well done Sean 👍👍I’ve had a few encounters with the police. One cop actually left wanting to buy a drone. Like you said, every situation is different so you must wait for the police officers initial statement before speaking. How you approach the conversation will make a difference in the outcome.

  21. Sunrise Water Media on November 23, 2020 at 9:21 pm

5 great tips and a bonus. I feel prepared now. Thank you, Sean.

  25. Clive Stephenson on November 23, 2020 at 9:24 pm

People have been flying rc aircraft for years and they were a great deal less accurate to fly than modern drones. Strange that these regulations only come into force when an aircraft has a camera attached to it! 🤔

  26. runnerbean1980 on November 23, 2020 at 9:24 pm

on my bebop 2 i have both on each side off my battrey of my flyer and oporator ID

  30. Mike Plowman on November 23, 2020 at 9:30 pm

Great an informative video but could have been improved with a closing scene of Sean being tasered and dragged off to chokey. 🙂

Great video, Sean. Nice drone too 😂

  33. Urbexy on November 23, 2020 at 9:37 pm

Only ever had one interaction with a police officer whilst flying. Didn’t ask any questions regarding the law, was just interested in the drone itself and seemed pretty impressed with it.

  34. M B-Moore on November 23, 2020 at 9:38 pm

Hi Sean. What’s the situation with site specific byelaws. I’ve been having conversations with one of my local conservation officers concerning the land over which they have jurisdiction. Although the CAA have not marked this as an exclusion zone the local byelaws do. What’s your comment?

  35. PHANTOM Flight 101 on November 23, 2020 at 9:39 pm

Officer LOCK HIM UP! HES BEEN SPYING ON MY WIFE! Great information on how to handle the situation. Nice one Sean.👍👍👍

  36. Jonathans Drone Zone on November 23, 2020 at 9:41 pm

    Thanks for this video

  37. Desmond's Donders on November 23, 2020 at 9:43 pm

Great advice Sean. Even if you are allowed to fly he can move you on, for all manor of things. No point aggravating the situation, move on and deal with it calmly and if the Officer is wrong you are not going to change his mind. That is his bosses Job loved the ending, no the bit before Lib LOL

  38. Smiley on November 23, 2020 at 9:44 pm

    Great advice 💯👌💯

  39. CheshireRing on November 23, 2020 at 9:45 pm

In the UK it’s an offence to impersonate a policeman. So, perhaps the first piece of advice should have been "don’t do this at home".

  40. Mia's Drone Adventures on November 23, 2020 at 9:47 pm

I have never had an officer approach me, (tempting fate here) but have had a few just go past. I would like to think staying calm would be easy but I’m sure in practice its a bit more of a panic 😀

  41. HoverbotFPV on November 23, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Cops need to bust that creepy prince over there not toy drone users. LOL! UK has far more immediate crime concerns I think.

  42. Mr Moon on November 23, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Think I’ll stick with my mirrorless camera and lenes,
Drone flyers must feel like they are commiting a crime every time they go out to fly,
No fun in that at all,

  43. Unknown Tone on November 23, 2020 at 9:51 pm

    Simple Common Sense

  44. Jaron Hathaway on November 23, 2020 at 9:51 pm

Step 7: kick the officer in the groin! Haha jk. Thank you

  45. G Wal on November 23, 2020 at 9:52 pm

I can not run the risk of getting arrested by the police as I have one of those faces that look guilty even when I haven’t done anything. I get nervous and say inappropriate things and joke about and always seem to unintentionally offend. I have had my Mavic Mini since December but it hasn’t been outside yet due to lack of places to fly locally and the Coronavirus lock down but the mere thought of being challenged by a police officer who may not know the rules is enough to keep the drone in the box. I have registered as operator and flyer and have insurance but I am afraid that the CAA along with local councils have killed all the pleasure of drone flying for me and so I will now offer my Mavic Mini with fly more combo on eBay auction starting at 99p.

  46. Whosthatguy on November 23, 2020 at 9:52 pm

My dyslexic brain read HOW TO GET ARRESTED FLYING YOUR DRONE 😂

  47. JohnnyD RC on November 23, 2020 at 9:55 pm

Hi Sean I just wanted to tell you about my way of avoiding a ticket. 1. Always fly with someone. 2. As you see the policeman coming your way hand the controller to your friend and run away !
HaHa OK thanks for the video and have a great week

  48. Don Quixote on November 23, 2020 at 9:59 pm

Thumbs up ere’ Sean, great tips on flying your drone and not getting arrested. Many thanks for sharing the info 🙂
