Great video and information Sean as always sean can you tell me is ok to keep a body camera running when being talked to by the police and of course making them aware that it is recording? Just for my safety and there’s to in case you end with the scenario he said I said cheers
Great info thank you.
very interesting i will remember this thanks joh nottingham
All these people that say its great to register your drone cos you will get it back if you lose it?!
Is it that simple? Just pop a sticker on and itl be in the post next day should you lose it?
Im pretty sure they have other reasons beside find my drone…… money?
Sorry for that rant Sean! Great video once again 👍👍
Most cops after an interaction say that same thing that they want to get a drone.
Sound advice Sean!
Run Sean, RUN 🏃♂️🤣. Great vid man. Edit was 👌🏽👍🏽
Quite possibly the best video you have produced Sean – thanks.
Good practice is to wear a bodycam yourself if flying alone. I’ve been threatened to be shot with a shotgun by a lunatic local when flying within an FRZ – with full Airport Tower permission.
The Police, typically have absolutely no idea what the rules are – and really don’t like being filmed, especially live streamed. However, if you do attend a protest environment and are positive you can fly there – then always seek out the Inspector on the ground and ‘inform’ them where you will be flying, and what you will and won’t be doing with the drone.
Chances are you won’t be bothered at all after that, well – most of the time anyway.
Can I shoot down a drone snooping over my garden pool?
Thanks for the info.
On a completely different matter could you confirm what the mavic air at 480g falls into on the new rules, is it C1? Would you need a Acofc to fly it as a hobbyist? Like the channel keep the good work up.
Thanks Sean all very good tips
Thanks for that Sean!
I hope that copper has a flyer ID 😉
Have held a PfCO since early 2015. So have lots of experience being questioned by police and security officers whilst flying legally. Never had any issues after talking to them and showing respect. One situation led me to work closely with South Yorkshire Police which was very rewarding to know I could help to educate officers.
Tip. 6. Set Return To Home position mile away. Drone? What drone?
I thought you might pull a Benny Hill
A lot of Police do know the legislation and you seem to make a lot of assumptions.
Great advice Sean, I would do exactly the same at the end, let the officer have a play lol 🙂
Well done Sean 👍👍I’ve had a few encounters with the police. One cop actually left wanting to buy a drone. Like you said, every situation is different so you must wait for the police officers initial statement before speaking. How you approach the conversation will make a difference in the outcome.
5 great tips and a bonus. I feel prepared now. Thank you, Sean.
Fab intro. Absolutely hilarious outro. Almost choked on my kebab!
Thanks for the great tips and video Sean!!!
WELL DONE SEAN, WELL DONE !
People have been flying rc aircraft for years and they were a great deal less accurate to fly than modern drones. Strange that these regulations only come into force when an aircraft has a camera attached to it! 🤔
on my bebop 2 i have both on each side off my battrey of my flyer and oporator ID
Great tips Sean even for us in the states. Funny intro!!
What cheap drone u flying. U can use rth and it will autonomously land on your H pad
Great advice 👍
Great an informative video but could have been improved with a closing scene of Sean being tasered and dragged off to chokey. 🙂
Very helpful, Sean. Thank you. And great to see you on TNL last week. Now a subscriber.

Great video, Sean. Nice drone too 😂
Only ever had one interaction with a police officer whilst flying. Didn’t ask any questions regarding the law, was just interested in the drone itself and seemed pretty impressed with it.
Hi Sean. What’s the situation with site specific byelaws. I’ve been having conversations with one of my local conservation officers concerning the land over which they have jurisdiction. Although the CAA have not marked this as an exclusion zone the local byelaws do. What’s your comment?
Officer LOCK HIM UP! HES BEEN SPYING ON MY WIFE! Great information on how to handle the situation. Nice one Sean.👍👍👍
Thanks for this video
Great advice Sean. Even if you are allowed to fly he can move you on, for all manor of things. No point aggravating the situation, move on and deal with it calmly and if the Officer is wrong you are not going to change his mind. That is his bosses Job loved the ending, no the bit before Lib LOL
Great advice 💯👌💯
In the UK it’s an offence to impersonate a policeman. So, perhaps the first piece of advice should have been "don’t do this at home".
I have never had an officer approach me, (tempting fate here) but have had a few just go past. I would like to think staying calm would be easy but I’m sure in practice its a bit more of a panic 😀
Cops need to bust that creepy prince over there not toy drone users. LOL! UK has far more immediate crime concerns I think.
Think I’ll stick with my mirrorless camera and lenes,
Drone flyers must feel like they are commiting a crime every time they go out to fly,
No fun in that at all,
Simple Common Sense
Step 7: kick the officer in the groin! Haha jk. Thank you
I can not run the risk of getting arrested by the police as I have one of those faces that look guilty even when I haven’t done anything. I get nervous and say inappropriate things and joke about and always seem to unintentionally offend. I have had my Mavic Mini since December but it hasn’t been outside yet due to lack of places to fly locally and the Coronavirus lock down but the mere thought of being challenged by a police officer who may not know the rules is enough to keep the drone in the box. I have registered as operator and flyer and have insurance but I am afraid that the CAA along with local councils have killed all the pleasure of drone flying for me and so I will now offer my Mavic Mini with fly more combo on eBay auction starting at 99p.
My dyslexic brain read HOW TO GET ARRESTED FLYING YOUR DRONE 😂
Hi Sean I just wanted to tell you about my way of avoiding a ticket. 1. Always fly with someone. 2. As you see the policeman coming your way hand the controller to your friend and run away !
HaHa OK thanks for the video and have a great week
Thumbs up ere’ Sean, great tips on flying your drone and not getting arrested. Many thanks for sharing the info 🙂
cool video
Very Well Done Sean…. Important Information ….
