The Holybro Kopis 1 was the best value/performance bind-n-fly racing drone I had ever seen. But it wasn’t perfect. The Kopis 2 takes everything that made the Kopis 1 great and kicks it up a notch. F7 flight controller. T-Motor F40-II Pro motors. BLHeli32 Dshot1200 ESC.

You can’t build a quad this good for this price.

Hey Joshua, love your videos, i have learned so much recently, with the lockdown i think lots of people like myself are going to want to get an entry level quad, i prefer your comparison videos, and i think it would be great if you did an entry level quad video, including the x220s, x220hv, the holybro kopis 2 and any other quads that come into (and a little above that price range) including in your breakdown, which ones would hold a gopro better (I’m sure lots of people are interested in getting into this hobby to film other hobbies like i am), which ones are easier to upgrade/ work on, my weakness is computer stuff so the x220hv is looking very attractive that you can just connect through bluetooth, I’ll happily sacrifice having to replace some motors and esc’s for not having to do the complicated computer stuff, and on this topic it would be great to do a little series on entry level gear, including batteries, chargers and transmitters, (rotor riot already did a good one on fpv goggles although some people would probably like to see the fat sharks go up against eachine, personally i don’t want to skimp on the goggles but some might not have that luxury) newbies like myself don’t want to sift through a bunch of reviews, it would be a dick ton easier to have the 4 or 5 most relevant quads in one video so we can decide which ones right for us
(Also this holybro kopis 2 video i was just watching is from 2018, I’m not sure if everything you’re saying is still relevant, like the camera, is that still a pretty decent camera here in 2020)
I’m quite keen to order myself a quad imminently so I won’t be able to wait if you do make this sort of video, so I’m sorry you probably get this question 10 times a day, which quad should i get for my first one, does the x220hv rise above the likes of holybro kopis 2 or are there any others that i should look into, and also something no one covers, what are the risks in buying second hand (making sure the quad is ready to fly or close of course)… Or i love building, is it worth looking into building my own, in which case can i build a better quad than the x220hv for the same money?
Thanks for all your videos, has been a massive help, I’ll definitely try to order through one of your links if possible here in New Zealand

Hey JB this video just so you know actually got me into flying freestyle I went out and bought this quad for my first actual FPV quad had been flying tons of toy grades and the MJX bugs series tons of others but this video got me to go out and buy this quad and let me tell you I’m loving every minute of it having a problem though where a lot of the times the top plate screws back themselves out my question is are they specific M3 screws Because I just ordered some online waiting for them to get here tomorrow but want to make sure I got the right ones

  5. Jesse Manson on November 30, 2020 at 9:28 pm

After hearing you discuss the issues you had with the stock prop and watching you fly, I feel like you were flying more like a stunt operator less of a race operator, could this have anything to do with your issue with the stock prop?

  6. KSC65 on November 30, 2020 at 9:28 pm

Hey Joshua, I found this link to what maybe in the middle of the Carbon Sandwich. I saw another YouTuber from another country and he claimed it’s this material called Rohacell. https://www.rohacell.com/product/rohacell/en/

Will it work with 4S 850s?
    How long would it fly?

  16. BespokeRotors on November 30, 2020 at 9:36 pm

They cut back on the cost of manufacture ( not full carbon frame/ 4 in one esc ) and the price went up! Buy the Emax hawk 5 for better value and quality. I had the choice to get either in stock and the Emax won hands down. This is good don’t get me wrong.

  22. DreadCandy86158 on November 30, 2020 at 9:49 pm

I fried a FC, no idea how, went back through all the soldering/wire setup and it all looked correct. Got the new FC, plugged it back in (both times with smoke stopper) and it was fine. I don’t think I will use kiss software again. anyway, had it all setup and couldnt bind, well thats because I don’t have a crossfire module on my receiver/controller which is another million dollars, so I just installed a 12 dollar Frsky XM+. I have the DJI system now so I am not spending anymore money on analog stuff. DJI has crazy range with low latency.

Hi Joshua I own a Kopis 2 and I’ve recently bought a DJI FPV HD kit. Do you how to fit the video transmitter into this drone? Worth it? Or maybe I should do it in a new built drone?

hi, i am a beginner in drones. i want to fly a 5 inch fpv drone for cinematic footage. what i want is to have an average stable gas control but have some enough power to do some acrobatic tricks and dives etc what ever it is called when i need to. and i want to fly it long distances. maybe to the top of a big mountain. maybe between the trees in the forest. what i learned is that for long range and cinematic footage i should use 6 o 7 inch but i think i like the agile of 5 inch drones. long range video and radio signal is more important to me than flight time. is holybro kopis 2 a good choice for these needs. or should i i go diy. or any other rtf drone offer for me or any advise can be helpfull. thanks.

Hi Mr Bardwell. I’m a patreon because you provide excellent videos jam packed full of the information this old man needs to learn this FUN Hobby. I’m not sure where to ask technical questions. I’ve bought a Kopis 2 followed instructions to the letter. Motors spin up after arming flips quad over and continue to spin faster until I disarm even at Zero throttle setting.Rechecked everything Min Throttle setting etc. Is my best option to start over reflash/ reprogram? Funny thing though BangGood was very slow to ship, I called them they apologized and sent it out straight away but they included a lot of free Quad stuff one was a new Kakote F7 flight controller, was there a bad batch of flight controllers? Has anyone else ever got a bunch of free stuff from BG?

  36. I FPVIsh on November 30, 2020 at 10:04 pm

hey JB, do you know that your frame has bad hex frame screws ?
after a while they strip into the carbon and sometimes the hex part pops off and was wondering if you know where to get a replacement or upgraded hex nuts for the frame? holybro doesn’t seem to have that part displayed in their parts list

  37. Keith Nelson on November 30, 2020 at 10:05 pm

The best archery limbs are foam core – less vibration, no problems with strength. Great flying.

I am very angry and very disappointed, on Holybro and frsky, their support is worthless terrible..
I have a lot of things from them, and despite that, I am a super fan of their stuff, but if something happens non support.

Lost more than 500 euros that day, my kopis 1 was 5 day old, and my gopro5 3 day’s old, but a sorry or a compensation from frsky or holybro, no wayyyy…
hopefully the kopis 2 is a good drone that does not fly away from itself

  40. Admar Godoy on November 30, 2020 at 10:10 pm

Hi, i have kopis 2 se quad, i love it! and just recently i got a gift – DJI FPV GOGGLES, it came with the whole thing, transmitter , goggles and the camera unit. I was wondering if i can put it to my Kopis 2se ? Im fine if i can use only the FPV and stay using my own TX (Tarranis) if so how do i do that?

  48. KSC65 on November 30, 2020 at 10:16 pm

Joshua! Can you top mount the battery? Any disadvantages with a bottom mount?
