The FAA is really cracking down on Realtors taking drone video and pictures, even for their own property listings. It is a $4000 to $10,600 Minimum fine against the Real Estate Agent AND their Managing Broker/Owner. Anything Real Estate is automatically considered in "Furtherance of a Business" by the FAA and they are NOT fooling around anymore. I am a Part 91 Private Pilot, Part 107 Commercial Drone operator, and a Broker/Owner of a Chicago Real Estate company, so I have seen the recent crackdowns – no playing around anymore. Funny your take on the Sectional Maps! 🙂

  13. The Pseudo Outdoorsman on February 23, 2021 at 11:34 pm

This video was extremely helpful, thank you! I’m stressing less about this now and plan to start working towards the license soon!

  14. furonwarrior on February 23, 2021 at 11:35 pm

2:24 Not true. Anyone can request permission from Air Traffic Control through apps on your phone like what I use: AirMap. It can tell you current events and if where you want to fly will require permission.
Unfortunately, the FAA is applying more restrictions… can’t renew your registration this year unless you passed a knowledge exam which is what the Part 107 license is. So, you won’t be able to fly legally when flying any UAV above 0.55lbs unless you pass the knowledge exam… and more rules will be in place like Remote ID….

  24. LST PRO on February 23, 2021 at 11:41 pm

great video, just got a drone getting license soon! what app do you suggest for that laanc stuff?

  25. ReaganVFilms on February 23, 2021 at 11:42 pm

To be fair as a 13 year old who wants to fly his drone for his church… I wonder why they won’t allow ages down to 14 years old rather than 16, like we are getting younger filmmakers here hello faa, they should allow the age to be lower towards the part 107 license thing.

  26. Arrowhead Aventures & Treasures on February 23, 2021 at 11:42 pm

WE just started flying drones and no we don’t have a license YET! 😬

  27. Allwonkyvids on February 23, 2021 at 11:43 pm

The Tampa Bay area is a great place to drone. I’m new to the hobby and I think I should get certification before I spend good money on a quality drone. Are there spots around St Pete that you know of where we can fly our drones?

  28. Randy Valimont on February 23, 2021 at 11:48 pm

Thanks! Studying for my test now. Didn’t know about LAANC, that’s kewl. Much faster. Very surprised the government allowed anything that might help cut through a little red tape.

    Thank you

  40. furonwarrior on February 24, 2021 at 12:06 am

My recommendation is to get an amateur radio license. You’ll need a higher grade to pass, but the exam is very easy, can be completely free and you get to enjoy a wonderful new hobby filled with Elmers. 😉

  41. Royce Cedrick Bulado on February 24, 2021 at 12:06 am

I recently bought a drone, and finding any bit of information to get Part 107 is a little hard. I googled and didn’t find much info. Im glad I found the tool to find a testing site in my area. Turns out, the place that came up when I googled does do testing for general public ( I live by an air base) . So it makes sense now, thanks for helping me clear that up! Ill deff be looking into the video you recommended to study
