Thanks, great presentation. You put a lot of work into it. I’ll let you know how I do on the test!

there is actually a maintenance schedule you should check the propellers and I think replace them after some time of use. That’s probably the only and most important part of the drone

Listen as a CFI, CFI-I, MEI, ATP, IGI and AGI Pilot | Instructor. I compliment you on a well delivered lesson. With this knowledge hope you go on and get your pilots license. Just FYI it’s not runway 27, you say it like runway 2-7. You pronounce each number.

do I need part 61 to take part 107?

  5. Neil Knowles on April 16, 2022 at 6:03 pm

Very Helpful, watched this one once and a couple other peoples as well. Barely passed on the first try, so you might want to watch it a few times :-p

Thanks for the video Tony! Received a 90 after watching this 1.5x and refreshing on the technical pieces. Cheers!

5 years old and STILL the BEST study guide content out there. Thank you Tony. Watched it when it first came out – passed. Amazing content. Let license lapse, looping to renew – watched a couple other study guides (parts of them) produced more recently. Trash.

  8. Flyin Ryan Productions on April 16, 2022 at 6:06 pm

Just passed with 87%! Thanks Tony!

I love your way of instructing and have found this to be most useful. Do you have a more recent updated version?

  10. James Stewart on April 16, 2022 at 6:11 pm

this video is very outdated!!! this video is good to get you started BUT SHOULD NOT BUT YOUR ONLY SOURCE TO STUDY.. the test has gotten ridiculously hard. practice tests are worthless..
    I fail my 1st time…

  11. Ryan Dodd on April 16, 2022 at 6:12 pm

I watched this for no reason

  12. Jose Calderas on April 16, 2022 at 6:14 pm

YO TONY!!!! I took my exam today for the first time and passed!!! Thank you so much for putting out this video I’ve definitely watched, and listen to it so many times the week before my test. I did have some questions with the new updates from the FAA, but felt pretty confidently in all the content that I consumed from this video! Thank you!!

  13. Angel Errafay on April 16, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Has the exam changed since this exam came out???

  14. Matthew Vargo on April 16, 2022 at 6:15 pm

I took my sUAS Exam a week ago and passed with an 83%. I was super excited. Studied a good 10 hours. I’m glad it’s done.

Thanks for the free vid, definitely subbed for that reason!

Video is awesome! one small thing, in 32:01 I believe C does exist, I have the pdf downloaded from the FAA titled exactly that "Weight and Balance Handbook". It’s one of the reference material listed on the beginning of the FAA remote pilot study guide provided by them.

  17. Chris Aguayo on April 16, 2022 at 6:17 pm

Legit just passed due to this video within 24 hrs of watching this on replay 3 times and 2 practice tests. I also read all the questions which he doesn’t have a answer key to and that helped a lot. I struggled with the charts and weather reading stuff but just acquired this certification to have it for future utility work. If I actually need to use this, I will legit take a real drone course to enhance skills and knowledge and not fly without being the best RPIC out there. I also fly my DJI Mini Mavic II frequently and respectfully to all rules and regulations. and it’s limit. Also had a fun time learning this instead of needing to pass, and that definitely helped! I believe to be an above average test taker. So if you struggled with school and tests definitely noe an easy exam to pass. THANK YOU TO MR & MRS NORTHRUP for putting this video and website together!!

Question about your point said at 9:50 .When doing aerial real estate photography of a property. How do you stay away from GUY WIRE.. lol. if guy wires are line connected to the power lines that provide power to a home. so with that being said, are they saying we need to stay 2000 feet from the actual property because of that guy wire

  22. Yendor65 on April 16, 2022 at 6:22 pm

I watched this video twice and one other video and got a 83 on the test. 👍👍

  23. Keith Mikoff on April 16, 2022 at 6:23 pm

Thanks Tony, because of you today I passed the 107 tests with a 92 percent!

  24. jwskiman on April 16, 2022 at 6:24 pm

Warning everyone: while somewhat helpful, this video is outdated and it alone will NOT help you pass. Maybe I just got a bad batch of questions, but be prepared for a lot of "why" questions: Why do you have to do blank? Why does blank exist? I watched this video 3 times, took practice exams 10 more and failed today. Also, the price isn’t $150 anymore, now it’s $170 but you probably already know that if you’re here and bothered to scroll down to this comment.

  25. john wester on April 16, 2022 at 6:25 pm

Do you have to have a part 107 if you want to just post on social media?

  26. Greg Yancey on April 16, 2022 at 6:25 pm

Thank you sir, watched this video twice or three times read the manual and passed the 107 with an 85 the first time. Thank you.

  27. Ryan Hartford on April 16, 2022 at 6:28 pm

Failed the test on my first time with 67%. Watched this video 3 times. Took practice tests 57/60. Lots of question types not mentioned here. I was in complete and utter disbelief when I got my score back. There were a few I was unsure about, but after studying for a few days and knowing the material fairly well, just can’t believe I failed it. Not sure what to study since the material that was provided didn’t seem to cover exactly what was on the test. I’m a bit bitter, especially since I felt super prepared. I even thought it was easy. I was cocky about the answers. This test seems like a money grab. Granted I agree with the license/some of the questions, but it’s ridiculous to say the least. Test cost $175 and took in Van Nuys, CA. Maybe the test was harder here, because I felt super prepared.

  28. Frans Samuel on April 16, 2022 at 6:28 pm

Thank you sir for your time and effort to to this video.
    GOD BLESS YOU

  29. Carlos Rey on April 16, 2022 at 6:29 pm

This is awesome Tony, thank you. Do you know if the test has changed over the past 5 years, I think there are new regulations now in 2022. Thx

  30. Josh L on April 16, 2022 at 6:29 pm

    This needs to be updated.

Just passed my test after watching this video and taking his advice (2/21/22).Also found practice tests online, paid 7 bucks for them. Kept taking over and over until I was getting 95% consistently. Thank you for the video and resources Sir!

  33. Nya Kennedy on April 16, 2022 at 6:33 pm

THANK YOU SO MUCH I PASSED WITH A 82% 🙂

  34. rmcgunner5 on April 16, 2022 at 6:33 pm

In position 1:00:48 (Runway markings), there is a question about the plane being "midfield left downwind to RWY 13…." Your answer is East. Would it not be West. If wind is going northwest, and you land in the upwind, wouldn’t that plane be going in the same direction as the wind (northeast) if he is going "downwind"? So the answer should be actually be "West" then…. correct???

  35. John Rando on April 16, 2022 at 6:34 pm

can you do an update with the laws that has changed???? 🙂

  36. JP Cacike on April 16, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Tony, as with countless others who have thanked you before, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for those free videos, they got me a great passing score. Your videos were right on the money and anyone wanting to take your courses will definitely succeed. Thanks for your help.

  37. Jerry Golden on April 16, 2022 at 6:36 pm

This video is nearly 5 years old and is still considered to go to, Great job to you and Chelsea, I passed my Part 107 with a 90! even with the changes. Thank you both so very much!! March 25, 2022

  38. Cameron Barnes on April 16, 2022 at 6:38 pm

As much as I appreciate the hard work that went into this video, this NEEDS to be updated! The test has changed SO much since 2017. Please do NOT solely watch this video if you hope to pass. I was lucky enough to pass it because I looked up every possible practice tests and studied them but this video DID NOT help with the test!

Please make a 2022 version of this video!

  39. Edward Simms on April 16, 2022 at 6:41 pm

I just took the test today, and they were ready for me. They have all new questions. Good thing I actually studied the information and passed with a 77%. So happy I passed. I was just looking for a few questions that I saw on other sites and this one, nothing. I was so stressed because I didn’t know if they were trick questions or what. Thank you, the preparation still helped me to understand how to solved the problems presented.

  40. Matt Wagenecht on April 16, 2022 at 6:43 pm

Very helpful guide, I passed my first attempt after watching this video and reading the 2022 FAA remote pilot test prep. The test has changed quite a bit since this video was uploaded, you cannot pass it by watching this video alone anymore

  41. Jesse Hembrook on April 16, 2022 at 6:43 pm

First of all, thank you for this. Now, on another note, the bit about density altitudes was a bit confusing. I think you may have misspoken at some point there. You first explain that high density of air is better than low density, but then immediately say the opposite and then move on, and so I’m confused on that point.

  42. What's up San on April 16, 2022 at 6:44 pm

Just passed my p107, got an 83% but man it was super tough! Definitely need to understand sectional maps, and weather condition

  43. eksboks148 on April 16, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Wait.. what??? I got the part 107 license but I didn’t have to go through any tests, reviews, or even pay extra, just 5 bucks and it says I have it and yes I’m on the official site, I checked a million times, I’m confused

Hey Tony! This is one of the best Part 107 tutorials I have found, however, I was curious if you did an update with the new rules on flying over people/night flight. I have been taking practice exams and came across some questions about remote ID, and categories 1-4 on the new rules… if you did an update on this can you please post a link? Thank you!
