I noticed the subtitles hasn’t been updated since Feb 3, 2017. That is a sum of four years and the subtitles got cut off at 5:10 with "TO BE CONTINUED". It will be appreciate if this video can be updated with complete subtitles ASAP. It should’ve been done when the post production was put together instead of waiting years later.

33×1.1= 36.3 lol so is there a round up to the closest number or something?

  6. Timothy Zube on February 23, 2021 at 11:22 pm

TLDR: I took the test on 2/20/21 and passed with an 88%. Don’t pay for a course!

I find myself as an above average test taker. I watched this video about 4-5 times, flipped through the study guide (2016), and watched a chart video from Drone Pilot 101 (really good 10-15 min video). Knowing how to map and read the chart is a large portion of the test. Be sure to understand how each of the different airspaces work including class and type.

There were only a few questions that caught me off guard. Some were about crew management and another question about your drone operating poorly around buildings. I suspect these are in the newest study guide. I was able to find it once, but for the life of me could not find it again later on.

There are enough give me type questions that should keep you above the 70% mark as long as you watch this video a couple of times. Be sure to read his study guide and it is not a bad idea to read through the FAA one too.

An updated video would be nice, but this is good enough to pass. Thank you!

  8. Connor Schank on February 23, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Took the test this morning and passed with an 88%. All I did to study was watch this video twice as well as Better B Rollโ€™s video and marked up additional info onto Tonyโ€™s study guide. This information was still valid even in February 2021. I would recommend just watching these videos and not spending any additional money on study guides since the information is relevant and up to date. I did not have any prior knowledge in aviation prior to watching these videos. Thanks Tony for making this video!

Passed last wk and a lot learned from this vid. There were more chart questions, a number of center of gravity, weather impact questions and some rando critical thinking that were out of left field. Use this and other videos to cement your understanding. Thanks for this!

Hey just stopped by to tell you like so many before thank you for putting out this video. Even in 2021 it was still an integral part of my studies to get my part 107.

  16. Servant Productions on February 23, 2021 at 11:37 pm

is this study guide still relevant for today’s part 107 in 2021? or has there been any significant changes?

  17. Rick Melcher on February 23, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Just a friendly FYI, this was done 3 yrs ago. The FAA changes stuff like every 3 seconds. Iโ€™m buying a video course. But thanks Tony, this IS helpful. Canโ€™t expect Tony to GIVE us all the answers.

SIDE QUESTION: Is the 24months renewal from the temporary certification date or the date you receive the actual license (i.e. temp received 2/5, but what if my actual isn’t processed/dated until beg of march? Would I need to take renew test by end of Feb or end of march?)

  24. Kevin Easton on February 23, 2021 at 11:52 pm

I passed the test but while I was taking it, I felt like I was failing. Lots of metar questions and sectional chart questions. I felt metarded during the test trying to decipher tafs

  29. Zachary Scott on February 23, 2021 at 11:57 pm

Four years after he published this, I still passed the test first try with an 87% (with this video as my only study material). I watched it once through, taking some notes of acronyms and the METAR reports and such, and then reviewed it again the morning of. Definitely a very easy test. Thanks Tony for taking the time to make this video! Way better then the way other people seem so dramatic about the whole thing’s complexity or try to charge for a whole course.

This was a great video, there were a lot of chart questions on the test which I wished I would have brushed up on a little bit more, but I passed the test on the first try after just watching your video one time.

So… I am washing dishes and listening to this. When he said "Sectional Charts" I heard "Sexual Charts" followed by him saying "This section on sexual charts will blow your mind!"

Sometimes my hearing is like google autocorrect, if you use incognito mode a lot. Sorry…

  36. Spencer Garn on February 24, 2021 at 12:02 am

Enter 2021, February. NEW FAA updates for USA! Do you plan to do a new study guide update? Just curious. I know there are other’s out there doing so, but just wondering if you had plans to do that, as this one may become obsolete in certain areas and some new drone pilots may not even be aware of that unless they do their own research prior to

  37. Christian Mazilu on February 24, 2021 at 12:05 am

Thanks to this tutorial and 2 more from YouTube I passed my test with 83% for the first time in just 1 week of watching those videos. thank you… just to make an idea, English is my second language and I passed from the first try, what if you spend some $$$ and get the compressive course or study materials from Tony? that will increase the chances…The test has a lot of questions about maps and airports … a few about alcohol rules, and few questions almost identical in this tutorial. like the little red flag on the map,…..btw: get a magnifying glass before the test, symbols on the map are so small printed in the book, I do not use reading glasses but those symbols are minuscule, good thing for me I asked for one at the test center and they provide me… they also gave me a little calculator even the question for what I had to use it was: for a plane weight 45 lbs at the angle of 45 degrees…. so not really hard to calculate…

Confused – at 9:16 you say if cloud ceiling is at 600 ft then you could only fly to 200 ft…? Why would n’t that be 100 ft if you must remain 500 ft below cloud ceiling? Thank you! trying to make sure I understand as I study to take the exam

  41. Geesaman Homes on February 24, 2021 at 12:07 am

I just passed my part 107 with an 83 on my first attempt. I used this video as a study guide, took notes, watched it several times and listened to it on the 2 hour drive to my testing center.

You saved me several hundred bucks on a class, and now I can start getting my drone business up and running. I cannot thank you enough for putting this together!

36:22 What do the large numbers randomly placed around the map mean? Near the bottom left, there’s a couple 17s. What do they mean, and why is the first digit larger?

Thank you for the amazing video!! Just took the exam and passed with a 90%. I only watched this a few times (3 or so) and took a few practice exams and passed first try! Great video! Covers about 90% of what you need to know and the practice exams will give you the final 10%
