FPV Drone Racing in Rural Canada

Subscribe to Motherboard Radio today – http://apple.co/1DWdc9d

Here at Motherboard, we’ve been watching the emerging hobby-sport of first-person drone racing ever since we first strapped on VR goggles in the Bronx, New York, and flew tiny robots across a park in the middle of winter. That’s why, when we heard Canada’s first organized drone racing would be taking place in a town called Clinton, Ontario, in rural Canada, we sent VICE Canada’s Patrick McGuire to document the festivities.

Hi Guys, I am trying to set up Drone Racing in Victoria Australia. I have a location where we can have a race course through trees, a race course through trees and obstacles, and a large paddock where we can set up pylons for a pylon racing course or else an oval shaped course for speed freaks. Is there a set of rules?  It would be great to grow the sport where we can compete on an international basis? Are there any international groups yet?

Well, those drones flying things were actually the reason I gave up GTA VC and SA

6:00 How foolish. Who would arm a quad right next to someone’s head. Perfect way to kill someone. Especially with powerful brushless motors.

How do I make my qav250 more stable? Feels like once I TRY to make it level it wants to go up or down constantly making hard for me to fly.

Wow!!! That is Sooooo horny… lol When I was a kid we had electric race cars that ran around a track on a ribbon of Copper wire… It’s been so long, I can’t remember what we called them… I do remember that I had a scale model of a Lola Can/Am car and I smoked everyone… This is Lightyears beyond that… 🙂 I LOVE IT! Thanks for posting… Move over Predators… the Public is taking over… lol

  17. eggo on December 1, 2020 at 9:47 pm

This would be so boss if the drones were like half a ton racing machines.

Watch drone pilots navigate one of the first-ever drone racetracks. Naturally, it’s in a horse pavilion somewhere in Canada.

  29. Buffet of Lies on December 1, 2020 at 10:00 pm

Pssst! It’s FPV not FVP. Measure twice, cut once.

  30. ZealousAce on December 1, 2020 at 10:03 pm

It’s a radio controlled model-quadcopter, not a drone. A drone is a military aircraft what shots missile and kills people.

  31. eu4ia on December 1, 2020 at 10:04 pm

what song is playing during 0:42?

  32. David Chase on December 1, 2020 at 10:04 pm

  33. Granite on December 1, 2020 at 10:06 pm

    It isn’t a drone…

  34. SticksFPV on December 1, 2020 at 10:06 pm

Finally made my first edit! check it out!

  35. Mauricio Ruiz on December 1, 2020 at 10:09 pm

Seems like modifying the drone to race would avoid so much damage to it.

  36. Alexandre on December 1, 2020 at 10:10 pm

who is this drone aficionado that keeps popping up in all the videos

  37. SoftWarewolf on December 1, 2020 at 10:12 pm

this is the second drone racing video i’ve seen on mb, and neither had an actual race in them, please do a real race instead of just goofing around. give the specs and quick info on each contender, follow the race live from multiple angles, and declare a winner. even if it’s all time-trial, you could still give some actual times and show a whole lap of one of the best times. why do we have to just see you fail with a tiny copter.

  38. s p a c e soma on December 1, 2020 at 10:13 pm

I’ve been talking about this for years!

  39. Thomas The Fap Engine on December 1, 2020 at 10:13 pm

I feel like this’ll become such a big sport within the next 10 years.

  40. aeronutzfpv on December 1, 2020 at 10:17 pm

That would suck if the mini quad at end scalped the hipster. Lol! Don’t pull a iglasias.

  41. Wojtek Bednarzak on December 1, 2020 at 10:18 pm

Seems like Drone racing might actually be part of our usual set of sports watched like football or F1 (depending on preference of course)

  42. Rodger Rabbit on December 1, 2020 at 10:20 pm

    "Drone" "racing"?? Wow…
Only Jesus lord our GOD can rid you of that sin!

  43. themeloninc on December 1, 2020 at 10:24 pm

More like this. Loving the drone coverage 🙂

  44. neo69121 on December 1, 2020 at 10:24 pm
