so, I have glasses… any recommendations?

  2. John 007 on September 2, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Great review just wondering why you chose tinyhawk 2 over eachine novice 2 is one better than the other?

  3. Twins on September 2, 2021 at 10:19 pm

The $1500. For the DJI goggles, don’t you need to get the Air Unit as well or no?

  4. Robinchills on September 2, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Yo man sick vid! Question : I assume you can’t use the DJI goggle with the smaller quads you showed in the beginning? Those are only analog right?

  5. HEnergyCZ on September 2, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Hi, what would you reccomend me to buy. I want to start with FPV And I would like to order drone from banggood. I am considering Eachine Wirard x220S the RTF version with controller And Eachine EV800D googles. IT seems fine according to the Price. But I saw also iFlight Nazgul5. Which one Is better, or do you reccomend aby other drone fór 2021? Thanks a lot.

I want mostly to try freestyle. So I want a "freestyle drone" I want something that Is a mix power price and has a variety for freestyle

  6. Josh Eason on September 2, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Well I just spent almost 1,200 for the $900 kit. Lol 😆 I hope it goes well. I like your videos. Put alot of trust in your recommendations. Thanks for the information.

    Good information, thank you

Awesome channel man… I’ve been wanting to get into FPV… but I’m on a budget… so I was wondering, I have a broken Yuneec q500 drone, the controller works, the motors work, it’s just the frame and the camera that’s broken… do you think I can Frankenstein an FPV drone using some of those parts?

  9. MrFormenis on September 2, 2021 at 10:24 pm

nice video, and nice material, now I’m starting out, like you said I arrived to the same conclusion before watching the video: going digital is the way to go since I have nothing analog and would be a wast of money to go analog to then switch to digital down the road.

now something I also decided (because it would be double the fun to also do that) I really want to build my own drone and avoid buying a pre-built: this is because I want to understand everything about it to be able to quickly re-solder/change components I might have destroyed after a crash.

I find really difficult to actually select different components that goes well together and make sure I do not forget anything in the shopping list of a build yourself drone.

I could go and buy a kit, but that would means I don’t get to chose the individual components on it and therefore make less sense on building it myself

so not sure if you have a good ressource which is not sponsored and therefore not honest (I’m not referring to your videos at all it’s more a general feeling I have when I see some other websites).

but if you have some advice on how to chose an ESC/motor/flight controller, propellers etc etc.

and maybe having a video like yours but for custom built drone (maybe separating the video in 2: analog custom drones and digital custom drones) and all different prices

  12. carlos fernandez on September 2, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Can you use a HD drone (betafpv75x hd) with the eochine 800d googles?

  13. PMGXxXPRODUCTIONXxX on September 2, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    Nice video man 🙂

  15. Harry Plohg on September 2, 2021 at 10:30 pm

I like how his microphone might be more $ than his laptop-

  16. Tarjei Lannem on September 2, 2021 at 10:31 pm

Do you get good range with the ev800d?

  17. Dextro on September 2, 2021 at 10:31 pm

Bro you can do so much better at $400, you can have an amazing 5" quad ok goggles and a great transmitter but he put a tinyhawk 2 or a tiny cinewhoop. Come on man u have to upgrade within a month with a quad like that. I’m not going to talk about the other prices because those are ok but $400 was the worst one out of all of them.

  18. Rel XL on September 2, 2021 at 10:35 pm

    Thanks Matt

  19. Bas Janssen on September 2, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Great video Matt! I Just ordered the BetaFPV Literadio 2 from a dutch webshop and the DRL simulator via steam. Let’s just get some simulator time first; before I go all-in on that whole FPV thing! 🙂

  20. jrallen404 on September 2, 2021 at 10:37 pm

I love watching your videos. I just recently discovered fpv drones flying and I’m so intrigued. I havnt bought anything yet so this video is very helpful.

  21. parkadiy on September 2, 2021 at 10:38 pm

hello, I don’t know if you will understand me or not (I am writing through a google translator) In Russia, FPV is very poorly developed, and with our salaries it generally turns into an expensive pleasure, I assembled myself an assembly, I would like to know your opinion
    ordered myself:
    Eachine EV800DM
    RadioMaster TX12 + TBS CROSSFIRE
and I can’t choose a copter: I would like to fly smoothly at the same time the ability to freestyle (as far as I can) so that there is a gopro 6 (7) (used) on board well and the maximum flight time
help with the choice, well, to be included in my micro budget up to $ 200-250

  22. CheApAss FPV on September 2, 2021 at 10:43 pm

Part Recommendations that are hard to break – Armattan Rooster 5in Frame, SERERATE ESC’S (not a 4in1) Spedix Brand are cheap and super reliable, Matek AIO Flight Controller, Emax Eco Motors, DalProp Props (i love building and have 10+ quads, but my everyday go to freestyle quad is this exact setup for 2+years. At least twice a week this quad smashes into the pavement at FULL throttle and just keeps on going!!!)

If you need a bind and fly (BNF) Iflight Nazgul or Cidora is good goto

  23. Centurion MCJK on September 2, 2021 at 10:44 pm

but for 400 you can build your own 5" have a sim, and get decent gear

  24. Khédhiri Sadri on September 2, 2021 at 10:44 pm

Correct me if Im wrong but for the best kit it doesnt looks possible. The dji googles are only compatible with the dji receiver ( you give a tbs crossfire on the drone). And the dji receiver is only compatible with the dji remote… Did I missed smtg ?

  25. Crevtout98 on September 2, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Awesome video – full of good info – Thanks!

  27. james pong on September 2, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Super Cheap drones don’t worth it imo

  28. The666Reaver on September 2, 2021 at 10:48 pm

Fantastic video. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this…sadly, being from the UK, most of these prices are nowhere near accurate to us Brits. UK tech prices are always horribly inflated. Meaning $100 item in the US, costs almost £100 in the UK, despite the pound being technically stronger to the tune of £1.00 = $1.40 Your $300 setup as an example, costs £250 ($347). It’s the same here for PC components. Not blaming you or calling you inaccurate, mind. Just me venting at this country’s ridiculous inflated tech prices!!!

  29. philip rogers on September 2, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Hi Matt, thanks for all the effort you put into making this video. Since you made it, dji have released their own FPV drone, which I’ve seen for just over $1,000. Of course the problem is it can’t be upgraded or easily repaired. On the other hand, it’s a lot cheaper than any other digital drone package, with the same characteristics. Do you think it’s a good option?

  30. United Apes on September 2, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I was looking at your list for $1000 I found a $300 controller with the Cross fire module but I don’t know how to add the crossfire module to the drone is it called something other than crossfire

  31. Matt Pochwat on September 2, 2021 at 10:53 pm

Prices may vary at the time of you watching this video! Luckily for you, I priced a lot of this gear just as sales ended so you might be able to get some things even cheaper!

One thing I meant to mention, is that you can go even higher than $1600 by purchasing custom-built quads. You can even get the same quad that Johnny FPV or Mr. Steele fly. The Nazgul is honestly great though and for the cost of those other quads you could get two or three Nazgul’s instead as backups. I sure did!

  32. Ruben Lalovski on September 2, 2021 at 10:54 pm

This is a very valuable video for ppl who want to start flying FPV. Thanks a lot for sharing so much experience!!

  33. ChipZilla69 on September 2, 2021 at 10:56 pm

Who’s here because of the dji fpv but is scared by repair costs and is looking at other options? I would definitely go digital and ideally get gps module as well in case i lose signal.

  34. Rem Tran on September 2, 2021 at 10:57 pm

    @Matt Pochwat hi,
I would love to see your tutorials for newbies about fpv, because of limited economic conditions, if I use EV800DM goggles to catch tbs waves as far as possible, what kind of antennas should come with the glasses? similar to the EV800D?
Thank you very much, have a nice day

  35. Anish Agarwal on September 2, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Could you use the mavic mini as an fpv drone?

  36. Mason D on September 2, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Idk anything about drones and I’m trying to get into my first fpv setup. This video was great thank you

  37. Paul Allan on September 2, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Question, is TBS Crossfire digital or analogue? I want longest range on my build.

another great sim is Tiny Whoop Go its a free sim for whoops and have TONS of tracks, works on most computers, backed by a great community and ran by a great guy Jesse P!

  41. Eppo on September 2, 2021 at 11:06 pm

how much batteries would you reccomend for the tinyhawk 2 freestyle
im on a tight budget and trying to follow the 400 one

These are some of the best series of videos and information for starting out that I’ve come across. Just binged through several that you’ve put out. Thanks for the incredible amount of work and effort you’ve put into these!

  46. Bel Air Computer Guy LLC on September 2, 2021 at 11:10 pm

Excellent video! Hey Matt, could I use a spektrum dx6i? I happen to have that.

  47. John Smith on September 2, 2021 at 11:12 pm

Hmmm, does the "international" filter excessively limit your recommendations? Would you find a better selection of less expensive options by looking at a "US-only" offering? Perhaps you could also make a "US-focused" video?

  48. Quick Tutorials on September 2, 2021 at 11:13 pm

Thank you so much, this really helped me settle on what FPV drone to buy.

  49. icantake on September 2, 2021 at 11:14 pm

Adding a crossfire before upgrading the ev800d to skyzone cobra x is a crime imo
