i feel like they could have made the material sorting abit easier

    Another good one mate,thanks

    Tip for the cargo scoop.

I use an Xbox controller on the PC to play this game and trying to fly the scoop was a real pain but toggling "alternative flight mode" by clicking in the left stick makes it so your right stick will directly translate your ship up, down, left, right rather than up, down, yaw left, yaw right.

Then it becomes a piece of cake to center the cross hairs of the scoop on the item.

Click left stick once again to toggle it off.

Ok… I’ve got my Hauler all outfitted, and took on a mission to go find a mine 4 units of Osmium. Spent almost 2 hours going from asteroid to asteroid, belt to belt, and found a buttload of stuff I didn’t need. Ended up abandoning the mission. My question is, how do you know where to find the different items? I’ve got EDDB, but I guess I don’t know how to use it for mining purposes. (PS, Love the vids, best series I’ve found yet. And I’ve watched a lot!)

Great video. I was hoping to avoid mining but you need to do it to unlock at least one engineer so I’m having to learn. I do have one tip……..you can allocate a button on your keyboard to open and close the cargo bay far more quickly than flicking through menus. I have the number – pad permanently locked and use those for cargo, landing gear etc.

Thank you for the video. I thought I had to make my own limpets via mining with my srv and getting nickel and iron. I was thinking what a pain in the rear, how do these guys make any money? But the comment about the advanced maintenance solved my problem. Thank you again

  10. trajan_x on July 19, 2020 at 7:51 am

How do I not lose my prospector limpets when going to a second/third etc asteroid? I’m Ltd mining in an adder so I don’t have limpets to spare.

It’s hard to find someone who goes over things slow enough for me. Thanks Bacon LOL

Great guides, I’m probably going to watch all your videos as I grow into the game. great game and great tutorials, thanks so much.

This 2 video series is great, thank you for making them. They’re the best, recent guide to mining I’ve seen. They’re slow, methodical and well narrated, just what an ED noob needs as this game is near overwhelming in the beginning.

  14. MadMonkeyMaster on July 19, 2020 at 7:56 am

I just found your channel and am following your guide to start mining a bit myself.

  15. Thomas Nyvell on July 19, 2020 at 7:59 am

Just began playing this game and without your videos i allready would have stopped playing it because the ingame manual Really sucks. A HUGE Thank you for doing this videos!

  16. George on July 19, 2020 at 7:59 am

my mn you post some of the most simple and easy to follow ED videos i have seen. Thank you so much! please keep it up. You have made me enjoy the game again!

  17. l_devo_l on July 19, 2020 at 8:00 am

I don’t see any Prospector limpets in my Outfitting. And how many limpets should I bring? Do I fill my cargo with them? What does “Recourse Unallocated” mean?

  18. Brian Givens on July 19, 2020 at 8:01 am

Well I just mined about 15 units worth of material, probably 40k worth and then an NPC shows up an attacks me out of the blue. I tried to switch to my combat fire group but it was to late, I was already a sitting duck. Less than 10 seconds later I had been blown to pieces…at least I had enough to buy my whole ship back but 16 limpets worth of collection gone in an instant 🙁

  19. namaikikitsune on July 19, 2020 at 8:03 am

Just started playing and your videos have helped a lot. ED is a bit like warframe in that they’ve added so much without streamlining that it can be a bit overwhelming to a new player.

  20. Pat176 on July 19, 2020 at 8:03 am

So we’ve to deploy the collector limpet before or after you start shooting the mining lazer?

  21. G on July 19, 2020 at 8:04 am

Thank you for putting these tutorials up. I was very overwhelmed. Almost turn the game back to steam. Gave it one last shot found your channel.

Finding out the space bar is actually the enter key is some what important.

  23. Pedro Moraes on July 19, 2020 at 8:07 am

Does the prospect limpet has to be called back ?
If so, how to do it ?

  24. steve Apperley on July 19, 2020 at 8:09 am

how do you know what materials are valuable ?

  25. Roaringbeardragon on July 19, 2020 at 8:10 am

So I did a mining run but it was really unprofitable compared to just foing days courier missions etc so um is there something that I’m doing wr6

  26. Vegas Sims on July 19, 2020 at 8:13 am

AWESOM tip at the end of the video, I have heard this from no one before. THANKS

  27. Andrew Grey on July 19, 2020 at 8:13 am

I don’t understand the refinery interface. For instance, at 10:52, why is Lepidolite at the top but Silver and Samarium are at the bottom? What’s the difference?

  28. Qurmo on July 19, 2020 at 8:14 am

I love how he continuously says, don’t forget your limpets…. guess what I forgot 🙂

  29. JTooSquared on July 19, 2020 at 8:14 am

Honestly this video is going to be so helpful. Getting a flight stick soon and am going to fully delve into this game when i get it

  30. hardino0311 on July 19, 2020 at 8:15 am

How do you defer power to your mining laser?

  31. Alexander M. on July 19, 2020 at 8:16 am

Does each unit of minerals = 1 ton of cargo?

  32. Nolen CrowDragon on July 19, 2020 at 8:18 am

You’ve been of good help! Thanks

  33. Bill Rush on July 19, 2020 at 8:20 am

Oh man that ignore tip at the end is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing!

  35. Marco Santaella on July 19, 2020 at 8:24 am

Hey there, I’m new to the game. I’ve followed your last video (part 1) and I’m at the mining bit now and there’s an issue. I’m mining and whenever I launch a prospector limpet it says ‘prospector failed’ even though it launches and attaches itself to the asteroid. My cargo hatch is lowered but I don’t pick up any of the fragments either. Do you know what the problem could be?

am 70 and just found elite again i like the way you so things so you can take than in, it was a solo game when i played it before

  39. Eclipse on July 19, 2020 at 8:34 am

Skipped the first video because I am already familiar with the outfitting aspect of mining in the game, but I am questioning my use of a T6 as my mining ship. Are there any better options that won’t use all of my 14.8M Cr I have available?

  40. Jonathan Edwards on July 19, 2020 at 8:34 am

LOL, watched your last vid and the 1st minute of this vid…… whats the 1st thing I did ? forgot to tool up on Limpets 😀
Need a ED dashboard post-it note!

  41. Josh on July 19, 2020 at 8:35 am

    Two Questions!
Question 1: Once you’ve deployed a Collector Limpet, does it automatically target the fragments as they break off the asteroids?
Question 2: Can more than one Collector Limpet he deployed at a time to speed up the collection process?

  42. Brendan Hynes on July 19, 2020 at 8:36 am

Great stuff any thanks from Aberdeen
