Chris begins by saying that he wants to make 3 simple points during his speech. The first of which is that Drones are ethically different from other weapons in that they lower the cost of engaging in lethal military action. The second issue is the myth of the accuracy of these drones and the idea that they can magically erase bad people from the face of the earth. The last issue he wants to challenge is the motion of drones being ethical and effective.
Chris highlights that because these drones are constantly surveying areas of suspicion it makes the option of lethal military force all too easy. He mentions the playstation effect saying that the drone operator is geographically and emotionally distant from the target that is lowers the threshold of reality

Hillary Clinton in charge of a kill list makes me worry as many people have died around the Clintons.

Gosh, Chris: if drones killed more people (aka made the cost of force higher), then they’d be ethical I guess.

If you don’t trust elected leaders to control war machines then who do you trust? and who do you think controls wars…

Of course, but there has to be someone you trust to use them? And surely an elected leader is ‘the best of a bad bunch’, so to speak.
