Drone Review – Syma X100 – Toy Drone With Obstacle Avoidance

The Syma X100 is advertised as a drone for kids and it is easy to see why with its fully enclosed props and obstacle avoidance capabilities. But how does it perform and is it fun to fly? We test it outdoors and indoors to see how it does in a light wind as well as with avoiding obstacles.
This drone is a basic line of sight flyer with no app or connection to a smart phone. And it’s made by one of my favorite toy drone makers, Syma.

Your comments about wind have me wondering…what would you say the BEST (photo) drones in semi-windy conditions would be? Mavic2? Asking cause I’d like to do some fall color drone photography but it can get a little gusty in some of the spots I want to go. Thx for your videos

And like anything else always read the instructions. Took mine outside it went straight up in the air and it was gone. Got it back 3 days later when a kid found it.

Second try… Flew it in the house and freaked out my dog. Oh…. And don’t fly it over your ashtrays.

Pretty cool video that’s a neat little drone thanks for sharing Kelly and I got a question my drone will not fly steady when I’m flying it it drifts backwards it won’t hover steady and I’ve tried everything to fix it but it still flys that way what causes that?

If still go for the Potensic drone for a toy, over this. Lots more fun to fly.

That’s a cute mini drone. I have one that i bought from radio shack hobby store few months ago and it looks similar to this one, But even smaller.

Very nice video Kelly. I have the Syma X20 but haven’t flown it in a long time. BTW you need to water your lawn in the back yard.
