When the DRL Nikko Air racing drone first came out, the price tag was around $180. Now it is at $90. Why the big price drop? Let’s test it out and see if this drone that is backed with the DRL name is worth the money.

I ordered the 2 cell betafpv tiny whoop today.. could you maybe get it and review it guys? I know it’s not for beginners but it would be so awesome to get info from you about that drone. Thanks in advance ❤️
Edit- btw I started having real fun with a drone since I started playing with the furibee f36
Love that drone.. I already do fpv with it daily for like about 2 months now and it’s still not getting old even with that basic mode

  4. Mobius-1 on October 25, 2020 at 1:17 pm

Shame the battery is like that theres no way to put a hotter battery on it,i am looking at drones all the time and if you have your own radio you could get a real racing drone for not to much money, I know you could build one for that minus the battery, anyway I was shocked it was as good as it was thats why I like Nate and Abbie so much because he started having fun with it,I love that haha I get a kick out of Nate if there is any redeamable qualities at all he is going to figure out a way to enjoy it I think that is so cool.

Yeap the battery is a problem…..I will not buy at all unless it comes with 4 batteries. Everything else seems OK.

  8. BANG For Your Buck-Rc reviews on October 25, 2020 at 1:20 pm

Hi guys! Great video! Looks like a great starter drone for a kid,but I agree, still overpriced even at $80. I think there is better out there for the money. Any chance you guys have tried out the “bolt” rc drone? If not, I recommend checking it out. I haven’t seen many videos reviewing it. What a great drone!

Put a acro board in my f36. It is is blast

  11. Chad Pollman on October 25, 2020 at 1:25 pm

Considering it is U.S. stock sold on Amazon, comes as a complete 5.8GHz FPV package, has features rarely seen in cheap toy-grade quads, actually flies really well, most likely is licensed branding, and is priced below $90, I’m calling that a bargain, maybe even a steal. Yes, the components are entry-level and cheap; as long as they get the job done, it serves as a great way for people to explore FPV drones without a hefty initial price tag.

A lot of “pretend you are like the pro on TV” fan club merchandise is pure rubbish. Kudos to this team for designing a product that actually works: docile and easy so regular folks can handle it, yet with just enough tricks up its sleeve to let their imaginations run wild.

Hopefully they’ll do a second generation that addresses the battery, airframe, and DVR issues. Do that at a reasonable price and it could turn out to be a must-have Christmas gift idea. 😎

  12. Bryan Owen on October 25, 2020 at 1:27 pm

Nikko mode? Are they trying to confuse new pilots? I also don’t see the appeal of automatic flips. And it looks cheap, but honestly I don’t know if I’d be disappointed with this drone. I paid about the same amount ($80) for an Eachine QX7 with goggles and it wasn’t much better.

  13. didactylos4 diddy4 on October 25, 2020 at 1:29 pm

I’m going to go with Abby’s first reaction 😀
Even with the slightly redeeming acro I wouldn’t have it as a gift.

  14. QBrady Rhoads on October 25, 2020 at 1:30 pm

I’m torn between taking it back or keeping it it was a gift I don’t fly drones so yeah but I also don’t want to feel like an asshat for taking back a gift. What do you think?

  17. Damien Roberts on October 25, 2020 at 1:33 pm

Nate: "Do you want to try it Abby?"
    Abby: "Nope"
Lol she wasted no time saying that..,😂😂

  18. Edward DIetrich on October 25, 2020 at 1:34 pm

Cool job on review guys! I was surprised it did well, I though it would be a complete flop! Other than the battery for 80 bucks not bad. Thanks Kids!

  19. John Poen on October 25, 2020 at 1:34 pm

GMS!;) Well, I have to admit, that I am a reader and watch very little, TV. So, this is the first time I’ve heard of the DRL TV program. However, I have watched Bob Ross (ref. to the Nate’s T,shirt) – love his shows – best meditation available! Lol Nate, your piloting skills with this 1st time, out-of-the-box, flight of this drone, was totally awesome! And, thank you for encouraging manufacturers to include full acro, on toy grade drones – it’s important! My friends, have a great weekend & take great care! JP

Nate, summoning your inner Shaggy from scooby doo?

  26. ItSeemsDark on October 25, 2020 at 1:40 pm

I’d probably spend my money on a Redpawz R011 FPV Racing Drone as 1st racer . It is probably way more fun , it comes with an almost surely better fpv viewer, it cost way less ( 60 euros give or take ) and with 15 euros you can buy a kit with n°5 3.7V x 150 or 230 or 300 amps , a 1 to 5 adaptor cable or a 5 battery charger ( depending on the kit) But this are just my 2 cents of course. Great Video as always guys 😉

  27. Blizofoz45 on October 25, 2020 at 1:40 pm

I found this on walmart’s website for $28 and bought it. Not because I expected that much out of it, but for that price I couldn’t resist. Biggest problem was I think the vtx was running at 1mhz or something. Reception was really weak but I did like how the goggles fit and focused.

  28. James Marler on October 25, 2020 at 1:40 pm

    Great job guys 👍

  29. John Wagner on October 25, 2020 at 1:40 pm

  34. Riff Raff's RC on October 25, 2020 at 1:51 pm

Hi guy’s! great video as always! 😊 I think that the DRL is cool and everything, and I appreciate that they are bringing new people into the hobby. But seriously, that kit is waaaaaaay overpriced IMHO. I really think that a realistic and reasonable price would have been in the $75-$99 range. Especially because beginners are looking to get in cheap without spending an arm and a leg just to see if they even like it and also considering that the Quad is just a typical Chinese toy grade worth about $25. I hate to say it but I feel they are kind of doing the same thing that the shady vendors on wish do. You know, the bait and switch. They show you a pic of a real dji or other name brand but send a look alike toy that can in no way do what the real ones do. Only in this case, the pic is the TV show with very expensive and capable fpv racing quads, and they give you this Chinese toy instead. Now, if they are being upfront and honest, and telling people, look, this is just a starting point and you work up to what we fly in time after your skills increase, that’s different. But I’m guessing that they let the people buying this stuff believe that they will have the same experience as what they see on TV which is a little bit shady. Just my thoughts about it. On the other hand, If it was at that lower price point, and they were telling people that this is just starting point, not the same as what they use, in that case I think it would be a fair and fun beginner FPV kit. As it stands, I feel it’s way over priced.

  42. James George on October 25, 2020 at 2:05 pm

Oh boy i remember nikko from back in the day like the 1986 sears Christmas wish book definitely overpriced for what you can purchase for half the price these days but I suppose if you have a child who wants to try it then it might be worth it if its available at toy stores

  43. engines1142 on October 25, 2020 at 2:08 pm

Never judge a book by its cover!! Lol. Jk. I would be as excited as you after finding the acro mode flips.
-I think this was designed with fact that whoever buys this drone might not ever buy another one and they just want to feel like they are part of the DRL tv show since them guys are nuts and amazingly talented. Love all your reviews. Do the Traxxas Aton 🙂

  44. Pete fpv on October 25, 2020 at 2:09 pm

  46. Bryan BryanT on October 25, 2020 at 2:09 pm

The main clientele for this drone would be people new to the hobby but who recognize the DRL name. I wonder if this will lead to more DRL-licensed drones. If so, will they focus on the newbie market or try to build a reputation with experienced users too?

  47. Ray Rainville on October 25, 2020 at 2:10 pm

    more toy grade acros!
