Don't buy a drone

Don't buy a drone

Look, you probably shouldn’t buy a drone. 1st, you can’t fly drones in most of the places you want to fly them, because: https://youtu.be/bHt5QILK_j8. 2nd, they crash A LOT: https://youtu.be/oQyZJZD74Tk. Still want a drone? Here are our suggestions:
* Beginner ($400 at Amazon): DJI Phantom 3 http://help.tc/p3
* Travel ($800 at Amazon): DJI Mavic Pro http://help.tc/MavicAir
* Better Image Quality ($1,500): DJI Phantom 4 Pro http://help.tc/p4p

When drones first came out, there weren’t so many restrictions on where you can fly your drones, but now there are so many, you almost can’t even fly without a permit for a lot of areas. Plus, if you have a-hole neighbors that complains about you to the authorities, then you will be fined. Also, when you post it online (Youtube, Facebook, Etc.), you’re pretty much telling on yourself for flying in a no-fly zone. If anything, it just depends on the State and the areas that you want to fly your drones in. Your app should let you know where the no fly zones are.

You can fly a drone near air ports you just need to get clearance and it takes only a couple of min. Most have different heights you can fly depending how close you are within that 5 miles from the air port zone. The furtherest part you can fly up to 350 or 300 depending on airport as you get closer like within a mile or so, altitude drops to like 50 feet. But you can still request to fly up to the permissible alt for the location within the zone. Real quick to get access, now if that is where you live it will most def restrict your flying.Although he does have a lot of good points lol. Luckily no one has said anything to me but one neighbor always looks at me all weird. Love your videos btw, always informative.

Valid point about neighbours – negative word spreads pretty quick because people rarely have anything better to do and our society promotes the idea that everyone should fear each other

The world is not just Morocco , Vegas or the States. Not a reason not to buy one. Just find a place where you can and have fun . A camera is a problem ? fly line of sight without a camera , still fun , the neighbours complain ? screw them , but I would not even try flying in a built up area anyway. Just go somewhere remote where you don’t meet people. Frankly Im not interested in Video anyway , to me they are just a flying toy and not really interested in FPV.. I crash a 150$ drone , to hell with it , its only 150$. Of all the videos I’ve seen this is the most over-dramatic of them all. Know your laws and that’s it. Nice speech , then you finish it off with subscribe to my channel ? Please .

DJI protection plan you get a replacement for practically nothing as long as you can recover it
And it only cost 35$ for that protection plan.

  18. mark jacques on August 4, 2021 at 9:16 pm

2001 update. Here in the Uk now anything under 250 grams can be flown almost anywhere. The main 2 exclusions are, no-fly zones like airports and army bases, that kind of thing. The second being crowds. All you have to do is pay £9 and register as an operator

  21. Jared Thompson on August 4, 2021 at 9:22 pm

If I had a drone, I would fly it whenever TF I felt like flying and especially if my neighbors wife is taking a shower or sunbathing, no, not that neighbor, the one with 5 to noon curves. What to do with footage you ask, spit in hand to begin with. Ty, you all have a wonderful day.

ONE MORE THING! I’ve just now decided, I am buying a drone TODAY. 12:06 Ut

  26. Ryan Mijares on August 4, 2021 at 9:27 pm

Im not really sure why a lot is hating on him don’t buy a drone. I get his point and his point is well taken. The fact is, there are a lot of people had already experienced what he just said on the video, we cant take that away. There is no harm on considering those precautions that he just said. The important take away on this video is, if you are going to buy a drone, be extra careful on using it. Make sure that you read through your manual and research. As the saying goes. "Don’t shoot the messenger".

  31. Jimmy, Making it work on August 4, 2021 at 9:31 pm

I bought a mavic platinum, hoping for some aerial photography and to catch some sunsets near Disney for my channel….no fly zones that DJI had restrictions on everywhere, Disney only allows drones with proper permits, basically for shooting commercials for them, lol.

I sold it, but hope to buy a smaller one with less restrictions and a decent camera system. Maybe a Mini 2?

  32. Coven of the Arks on August 4, 2021 at 9:31 pm

BUY A DRONE, BUY A DRONE. Don’t listen to this guy. Most of you WILL be able to fly your drone almost anywhere. Airports have different regulations. Some you can get close, some you can’t. Some you can get close, but have to stay under 100ft vs the max of 400ft (400ft is the legal limit), even though a DJI drone can go 1600ft and an Autel can go 2600ft. Also, YOU CAN FLY OVER STATE AND FEDERAL PARKS, YOU JUST CAN"T TAKE OFF OR LAND IN THEM. So, you can at least fly around the edges, go to 400ft , fly into the park as far as you can see your drone, and see the whole park from there. YOU CAN fly over people and moving traffic, BUT you can not maintain flight over people or moving cars. YOU CAN ONLY CROSS OVER THEM IF THEY ARE IN YOU PATH OF FLIGHT>. BUT, you can still see the cars and people simply by flying 100ft away, go to an altitude of 100-400ft and watch from an angle. This way you won’t be over any cars or people. ALSO, How many of you are going to go to countries where you NEED to fly a drone. That’s not gonna happen for the 99% of us. Lastly, who cares about your neighbors. Make friends with them!. Show them your drone. They’ll eventually warm up to the idea. Tell them you use it for Neighborhood watch. Get to know your neighbors. Don’t argue with them even if they don’t like drones. Just tell them you won’t fly near their property. It’s no big deal. There are plenty of other areas to fly over. Besides cinema, photography and videography, they are just plain fun to fly and see things from a different perspective. OH, by the way, if you think you can spy, IT"S VERY DOUBTFUL. You would have to fly so close to people or a window, it would be obvious. Then you’ll get arrested for invasion of privacy. Naughty Naughty. Don’t even think about it. Make sure you know the laws. Avoid Manned aircraft. Stay away from groups of people and moving cars. Stay under 400ft. Get approval via internet before flying close to regulated airspace. Look up the other regulations yourself. HAVE FUN. IT’S A GREAT HOBBY.

  33. Eec2021 on August 4, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Can’t fly in national parks. No big deal. Can’t fly over new york city. Who cares. Can’t fly near airports? No kidding Sherlock. It’s going to end in heart break. You should be doing something else with your time. Useless

  34. Ozzyogo K on August 4, 2021 at 9:33 pm

I hate to agree with you but I’ve come to the same conclusion. If the FAA isn’t making your experience a downer the drone maker like Parrot Anafi is. I went out to fly this afternoon and the app told me I needed to update but if I wanted to fly anyway I could. A lie. I brought it home and updated everything but now the app crashes. So these people sell me a $550 drone and I can’t fly my own personal property because of crappy software. This isn’t the first time. Parrot you suck!

No one has died from a drone(plane hits a drone) a drone is for hobbies it is not only for photographers.

  41. Arti on August 4, 2021 at 9:48 pm

I’m a woman who was spied upon by her neighbour by his drone. He once hovered it outside my window at twilight when he thought he wouldn’t be spotted as it was getting dark outside. They are not meant to fly them in built-up residential areas, yet there he was snooping on me just above my garden. Given the numbers of women that are harassed by men, it’s not surprising that drones would be used in this way. Unfortunately, it’s become another way for men to harass or intrude on women’s private spaces, safe in the knowledge that if they’re seen they can speed off without her ever identifying the intruder. I can understand why photographers love drones – who doesn’t love a grand, cinematic sweeping shot? It’s beautiful. But whenever I see one, I find them intrusive or spoiling the tranquillity of natural spaces for others. They sound like some kind of mechanical wasp and I think this is why so many people are bothered by the noise. That, and the fact that there is a lack of accountability to the general public with drone flying that you don’t get with other machinery. There are rules and laws, yes, but the average person has little chance to ask a drone operator not to fly if they can’t even see the operator.
