i mean you be asking for much about the noise because they need to be spinning really fast considering how heavy the drone is with all the tech in it so it’s going to generate a lot of noise plus the props are plastic so it’s expected

Been using the Phantom 4 Pro 4 3 years and will continue. I fly for a living and have two Phantom and one Mavic. My phantom is my workhorse, the Mavic is my convenient aircraft. Both serve their purpose.

Mike Mike Mike should purchase the P4V2.0 or wait for possible M3? 🥴🤔

  4. Paul Matulavich on October 19, 2020 at 12:42 pm

Too bad they quit making this model.

  5. Sasori 777 on October 19, 2020 at 12:43 pm

    Is it waterproof?

  6. Xian Onemanshow on October 19, 2020 at 12:45 pm

I have both , got the M2 P because my P4P is broken but the P4P is the best drone ever ( I am dreaming about a P4P V2 Obsidian )

  7. Geoff Fisher on October 19, 2020 at 12:45 pm

Surely, you are aware that you can fit "Stabilizers" to the "Control Stick’s" ? A very simple "Fix"! Good work though, and thanks.

  9. Jakov Sušac on October 19, 2020 at 12:46 pm

I dont know are your export settings ok but I just watched mavic 2 pro shoots that are 2x sharper and cleaner than this.. don’t get me wrong your skills and shoots are AWESOME but quality of the image is…worst than M2P

  10. Sudburydrone on October 19, 2020 at 12:46 pm

I love my 2 pro. Point on sticks and controller size. I also have the Yuneec typhoon H+ Hope to have it up this summer very pro looking and very good video. Better than my Mavic.

    I like m2pro better

Hi nice video, put the smart controller on it iam sure it would be brilliant keep up good work rigsby

Honest review man! I’ll give you the lack of hyperlapse and that the M2 pro Hasselblad takes better stills (10 bit color vs 8 bit in RAW) but everything else falls in the preference column for me. I dont mind the size, I do comm work so the image factor you mentioned I have def taken advantage of and heard from many clients. I personally have a "props on" case but those are an extra purchase that one has to make and it does increase the transport footprint. Now I’m not knocking Mavs, they are absolutely fabulous drones that have many qualities that a phantom can’t even touch and fully admit that, and they are a joy to fly..I just personally prefer P4PV2 for certain reasons that fit my own needs so ultimately you hit the nail on the head 👍 I also personally prefer the more sizable RC and the stick action, but I cut my teeth on phantoms and the finer action on the Phantom controller allows me to get way smoother shots than on a Mav controller, but again that’s just preference and what someone is used to. I do think DJI should ultimately reconsider the mid size option because once the V2 is permanently out of production there will be no mid size option for those who need something more substantial but not the size of a small helicopter and costs $7K to start without add ons. If the phantom goes away you’ll go from the Mavic to the Inspire size wise lol..So heres hoping they will revisit the decision to eventually eliminate the mid size platform. (And the platform that made DJI a drone juggernaut 😉) With autel increasing the size of the Evo for stability, capability and batt size and skydio trying to make moves in that segment beyond the skydio 2, I think the idea of getting out of that size range may need further thought. Just one guys opinion though 😀 ..Great video man!

    Mavic 2 pro>phantom 4 pro>mavic 2 zoom>mavic air 2> 2020 drone ranking

  15. Food Travel Planet on October 19, 2020 at 12:51 pm

Great review, I just got the Mavic Air 2 for my new YouTube Travel channel (which I had to pause due to Covid19 after one month of launching) and I’m looking into getting the P4P2 or wait until DJI delivers the Mavic Pro 3

  16. Randall Ainsworth on October 19, 2020 at 12:53 pm

Got the Phantom 4 Pro Plus v2 earlier this month. It flies like a dream and I love the quality of the camera (since that’s why I bought it). It’s an amazing aircraft.

and whats the difference between P4P V1 and V2???

  19. tarapos on October 19, 2020 at 12:56 pm

is there a workaround for the props in the shot?

  20. Marv McCarthy on October 19, 2020 at 12:58 pm

Mike, can the Phantom connect to the Smart Controller? I heard DJI was going to do this but haven’t seen anything definitive. Thanks for all your hard work on a great channel. I’ve learned a lot from your videos!

  21. Ron Brown on October 19, 2020 at 1:02 pm

The P4P V2 is great drone, but size does matter to a lot of us, and it’s just big for a travel drone. Great review and comparison Mike.

  22. Out on the farm on October 19, 2020 at 1:02 pm

I agree I fly a phantom 3 standard I have a back pack and all of my cameras and go pro mounts fit in so everything but my phantom and it is a proper pain in the but because it means I have my camera bag and my phantom bag but I am thinking about getting the mavic pro or air when the air 2 comes out

  23. GEORGE PAPADOPOULOS on October 19, 2020 at 1:03 pm

P4P all the way (I have both m2p and p4p v2.0). Anyone knows what happened the support of the smart controller to the p4p v2.0?

  24. Mutava Musyoka on October 19, 2020 at 1:05 pm

You didn’t say the biggest of the problems that the batteries swell making them less useful

  25. Pourings on October 19, 2020 at 1:05 pm

Great video ! I’m in a real sticky predicament, I love the Phantom due to its more serious look and COLOR / video graphics. But the Mavic is EXTREMELY portable and the controller is perfect con being the imagery looks brown-ish. When do you think we will be seeing a new DJI drone ?

Brother thanks for make this awesome video. I learned a lot, and yes I’m with you, the Phantom 4 Pro is bulky and HUGE drone but still have a gorgeous videos and photos quality.

Man let me ask you something, where did you buy the the green indirect light that you has in your studio room? Because I want to buy one.

Great points, nice to hear some good things said about the Phantom. I own the mavic 2 pro and the phantom 4 pro v2.0 plus and have the choice of which to use. I always take both with me in my car and have the Manfroto backpack for the phantom and an aftermarket backpack to carry my mavic 2 pro so for me there is no issue at all transporting the phantom as in the backpack it is no more bulky or difficult to carry than the mavic 2 pro but the footage from the phantom is so so so much nicer than the mavic 2 pro.

  32. Fodson Media on October 19, 2020 at 1:14 pm

Great video man! So, if you were to give me your two cents on the following, what would your recommendation be? I already own the Mavic Air, which is great for portability and still has descent quality overall. I own a small filmmaking business and have been getting some more drone work lately, so I was planning on getting another drone and use the Air as a backup. Would you go for the Mavic 2 Pro or the Phantom 4 Pro v2 if you already had the Air, like me? Personally I’m thinking the latter, as the sad but real truth is that the Phantom "looks" more professional. Would you rather get the Mavic 2 Pro still though? Cheers man, keep up the great work!

  33. Viaggiator D'Azzurro Pianeta on October 19, 2020 at 1:15 pm

I have a Phantom 4 Pro Plus Obsidian with integrated screen: the best drone I have ever flown. There is another advantage with the Phantom: a bigger ground clearance for the propellers

  34. Chris Parayno on October 19, 2020 at 1:17 pm

I prefer the p4 image over the mavic. It’s wider lens 20mm eq lens looks better for landscape and establishing shots.

This drones thing is AWESOME, i didnot expected that its so interesting to drive one..
But, auto landing at my village was kind of 10 meters wrong side so i had to tune it manually, funny scare :)) awesome thing… Even at huge wind – great stability, picture, very comfy to controll… Perfect

  42. Ken Vaughan on October 19, 2020 at 1:24 pm

While I agree that the P4P is superior to the Mavic, I must say that the sharpest point of the supposed Hasselblad lens is between F4 and 5.6. any more closed down and that lens simply falls apart. Love both but the P4Pv2 is the

    Damn that amazing intro ❤️

  44. Jay Mayer on October 19, 2020 at 1:27 pm

At the end of the day the most important thing will be the quality of the video (what everyone will see), no matter how it got there or if it suffered for its transportation or not, or if you had to apply smart modes, etc. *Nothing:* Only the end result matters. Regards

  45. eumatthe on October 19, 2020 at 1:27 pm

This is a very helpful review – thank you for that. One are that you didn’t address (perhaps its not in your work flow) – mapping. I have a Mavic 2 Zoom and was considering adding the Phantom to get into mapping. But, having flown the Mavic and the Autel Evo, which I can easily transport in my backpack, I’m not sure that the trade-off in portability for a revised old style drone design would be a worthwhile investment for me right now. If a good deal comes along, perhaps, but otherwise, you probably just saved me a ton of disappointment.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

  46. MikeBoutdoors on October 19, 2020 at 1:28 pm

Were you stressing a little bit near the end when that bird was checking your drone out? It looked like you were over water. My anxiety was rising. LOL.

  47. Goran Drone on October 19, 2020 at 1:29 pm

Good and real video. My advice for all mavic2 users, buy smart controler if you didnt already. Once I have tried, no back to regular. Also, now I can use it for my M4pro v2 🙂
