DJI Mavic Air HACK to film in TRUE 360! Will it work? Drone Flight Friday!

DJI Mavic Air HACK to film in TRUE 360! Will it work? Drone Flight Friday!

Today on Drone Flight Friday we’re going to see if we can capture true 360 degree footage from our DJI Mavic Air! We’re going to strap an Insta360 One 360 degree camera to it and see how well it works….hopefully well….and hopefully I don’t cut myself like the last time I strapped a camera to a drone.

Hi! Where I can check the 360 video from drone where I can control field of view?

  2. Youn Tune on September 12, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Why would you not watch the video in VR? If you’re on an Epic trip, the package is small, easy to carry and you can shoot Epic VR vids. (Although flying over salt water can be an Epic Fail.)

I have this camera and the quality is better than you got it. If you record in LOG instead the normal it would be SO much better after you color grade. Also you touched on the lenses a lot and that’s why you got those marks on the video. I touch the lenses all the time too! lol

I also have the Mavic air and I bought an adapter from China and I’m waiting to arrive. 😉

so i’m pretty sure no one here is going to know the youtuber i’m about to mention, but this guy looks, sounds, and acts like the father of @NickEh30. It’s kind of crazy. Just a more relaxed version.

  8. Rudolf L.Stensen on September 12, 2021 at 10:53 pm

Bold video, Good explanation. Wondering if Mavic Pro also has the same connection.
Just as you have shown on your own drone ..? Have even looked at insta360 One. Imagine would buy it 🙂

  13. Enrique Limberger on September 12, 2021 at 10:58 pm

I would love to see that footage in 3D being able to pan. Upload it with that feature on youtube.

WOW that is so cool! Nice video! Can we do Live Streaming with Insta360 One attached to Mavic Air?
If that works please do a video about it! Thanks.

Been wanting to try this with my Mavic Pro. I picked up the Insta360 at Fry’s for $199.

Hello. Does not it disturb the sensor?
I previously hung a small stuffed animal under mavic air. However, I skipped it to 60 meters, but I could not let him descend. Perhaps because there is a stuffed animal it may have been that mavic air is already close to the ground. I could not lower it until the battery runs out. It was saved because the battery ran out and compelled to slowly descend. I was very scared.

You can get plastic glue that will make a chemical bond between the go pro mount and the drone plastic. Essentially melting the plastic into one. Might be a good way to do it.

I was thinking about doing it to a cheap drone. Like a bugs 3. Then I could get badass video for way cheaper then a DJI drone.

No lie bro, that was cool

  26. s2s_Parrot Fan on September 12, 2021 at 11:13 pm

Nice. Thanks for the effort. You might want to clean the lense (fingerprints?) and lose the blaring tunes (really distracting!). None-the-less… thanks.

  29. JAG Channel on September 12, 2021 at 11:19 pm

didn’t you experienced some interference when mounting the 360 camera on the Mavic air sir?

  30. Carl Bishop on September 12, 2021 at 11:19 pm

you can get a bracket from amazon the lets you put your insta 360 one x on top of the mavic air , bad idea putting it on under the drone.

  31. T Hoek on September 12, 2021 at 11:21 pm

You’re still "deploying the mavic air" the wrong way… Back legs go first, front legs go after that…
This was also on the labels

  32. Warren Vance on September 12, 2021 at 11:21 pm

Quick question about the insta 360. I notice the insta 360 logo on footage . Can this be removed ?

  33. 24k Shotz on September 12, 2021 at 11:22 pm

You are suucchhhhh a DAADD 😂😂😂😂

  34. Sean C. on September 12, 2021 at 11:23 pm

This mavic air certainly looks well hung… With a 360 camera under it. C’mon this is a family show.. What’d ya think I meant?

  35. travel drone stories on September 12, 2021 at 11:25 pm

    Great video
    Have a question?
If you put the insta360one on top of the mavic air the drone loss the GPS and can’t flight why is that

  36. AVIBEND on September 12, 2021 at 11:27 pm

That was cool. The music annoying but great experiment.

  37. Zero Tech on September 12, 2021 at 11:28 pm

Now I’m curious could you have mounted it to the top instead of the bottom?

  38. Tom Buck on September 12, 2021 at 11:31 pm

This seems more than a little ridiculous, which is why I like it!

  46. Mr. Parker on September 12, 2021 at 11:41 pm

Thank you very much for making this video.
I had this question asked to me by a friend and I know they have an official mount for the Mavic Pro but I wasn’t sure about the Mavic Air.
    THANK YOU!
And I believe the usefulness of this is not even a question to someone who knows what they want out of their videos.
    Great job!

  47. Andy Kunkel on September 12, 2021 at 11:41 pm

The new go pro MAX might be a great investment on a cheaper drone

  48. David Wilson on September 12, 2021 at 11:42 pm

I’d like to think the mavic pro would hold the weight a whole lot better 😉

  49. Ben on September 12, 2021 at 11:44 pm

that’s even better than the Asteroid effect😂😂

  50. Devin Chaves on September 12, 2021 at 11:45 pm

This guy actually chose to wear sunglasses that look like that. Amazing.
