There is a common misconception. For recreational flyers, the drone is not registered, the pilot is.

    Great video! Thanks man!!!

So for recreational use. Can I upload the drone footage to YouTube? My YouTube channel is not making money because I have under 1000 subscribers, not eligible for monetization.

  5. Smolex on April 20, 2021 at 1:37 am

I have a question If I’m allowed to fly up to 400 feet how can I see my drone if he is on 400 feet altitude? not possible so it’s kinda one rule against another I’m pretty sure you will stop seeing the drone when he’s more than 50′ from your location, and also label does that label has to be OUTSIDE and visible, or can be inside of the battery compartment ( I’m talking about Mavic air 2 )

I registered my drone under the exception for recreational flyers, but it never required me to take the test…but on my certificate it says required to pass an aeronautical test?

  26. Stephen Smith on April 20, 2021 at 2:04 am

This video is so helpful. I just bought the Air 2 yesterday and have been trying to get everything set-up and registered for flight. I also live in an area where I’m somewhat close to an airport. My unit already made me agree to FAA standards before I could even take-off for the first time. Your video finalized that whole process for me, and I thank you. I did just get it registered on this site.
I happen to have a label maker. I’m going to see if that tape will stick to the unit. Thanks so much! 👍.

  27. iveGOTtheRUNS on April 20, 2021 at 2:05 am

Thank you for the video! Do you have your drone registered for commercial use, since you use the footage in your YouTube videos?

  36. Christopher Thorp on April 20, 2021 at 2:12 am

Very helpful. I registered immediately after viewing this. Thanks droneXfaxtor, I did this before my Mavic Air 2 arrived as you recommended. And thanks for update stating that FAA number can be used for all my drones.
What are your recommendations on getting the unmanned pilots license?

  37. Sahagun Sahagun on April 20, 2021 at 2:14 am

  38. Aaron Garrett on April 20, 2021 at 2:14 am

Bro I can’t thank you enough for making everything about drones so easy to understand not like other YouTube videos. I got the first DJI phantom when it first came out so I learned on the move and I was SOOO reckless lol. My wife just got me the mini 2 after a years worth of me dropping hints about the first mini ( Jedi Mind Trick Works ) I’m getting the Mavic 2 in a few months so I pre registered so easy thanks again keep up the good work

  39. Joseph Nesbitt on April 20, 2021 at 2:17 am

  40. Mubashir Mon on April 20, 2021 at 2:21 am

  41. Jay Hernandez on April 20, 2021 at 2:22 am

So if i buy now dji mavic air 2, i don’t need to take a test and just do what you did and won’t get in trouble by police or aircraft or faa drone zone correct?

  42. Alex & Nadia Fediakov on April 20, 2021 at 2:24 am

Thanks for good videos! Can you advise please – if I will post on youtube footage of my drone stationary or flying but not footage from the drone itself would that be considered by FAA as commercial use of drone? Thank you.

  43. Craig W. on April 20, 2021 at 2:25 am

So every three years you have to pay a $5 renewal?
