DJI Drone Buyers Guide 2020

A lot of people always ask “Which is the best drone?” or “What drone should I get?” In this video, I go through some of the key features of DJI’s current consumer drone line-up and talk about who they are designed for. This includes the DJI Mavic Mini, Mavic Air, Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic 2 Pro and Phantom 4 Pro v2.0. I don’t go through spec by spec of each drone, but I hope this gives you some basic information of each drone while you do your research. I’ll post all the detailed specs on my website If you got some value from this video, don’t forget to like and subscribe.

Great video and tips. I’m contemplating on upgrading from my Mavic Pro and sure to get the Mav 2 Pro, but you’ve given me more to think about on the Phantom. Didn’t realize it was that much more stable and had better quality than the Mav. Then again if I hold out until the summer, may be looking at a Mavic Pro 3 or Autel’s Evo 2! So many choices…thanks sir!

I have posed these questions in a previous post. Let me preface this by stating that I greatly appreciate your videos as they are A-1. I know my questions may seem trite, but I am trying to make an informed choice about purchasing a MAVIC MINI Fly More Combo. Yes I am a "newbie" -(hate that term). My first question is: Can you suggest a reasonably priced tablet NOT a phone, but a tablet to fly the Mavic Mini? I have searched exhaustively and had the most infuriating experience trying to get the correct information. I am NOT open to purchasing another phone for the sole purpose of flying this or any other drone for that matter. I own an LG K40 Android phone (2019) and it is NOT listed in the list of compatible devices though it does run Android 9. I am unsure as to whether my phone is 64 or 32 bit. Tried to run Antutu software to determine which architecture 64 or 32 bit the LG K40 has to no avail. I have considered a Mac Mini (2019), Mac Air or Mac Pro tablet. Which ties in with my next question. Should the tablet I purchase with the Mavic Mini Fly More Combo be new or "renewed", "refurbished"? Should I opt for a tablet that is WIFI only or should I opt for the WIFI + Cellular feature. Were I to buy a tablet with the cellular feature would I incur data rates, fees or charges with my current carrier which is Metro PCS. I will try to keep any and all future comments and questions more succinct. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Hopefully this will also help others to make an informed choice about their Mavic Mini or Mavic Drone purchases. Yes I have given a thumbs up and subscribed to your channel. In fact I would be more than happy to endorse you in the not so distant future on my website which will be up and running for business in a few months. Cheers.

I’d love to get myself a mavic mini to replace my bebop. I like the compactness of it.

  20. Mathijs De Kegel on November 24, 2020 at 9:21 pm

I’ve got the mavic air for more than a year. Never really had a complain about it accept the lack of a stable wife connection. The flightime is good enough and the resolution is great for sharing on Instagram. Go for this one and you’ll never regret 👍

Great details, I use to Phantom 4 pro V2’s fly with SLS NSW shark patrol and they are changing over to Mavic 2 zoom for the shark id’ing. Now I am going to buy the Mavic Pro 2.

  23. Gun Fission on November 24, 2020 at 9:23 pm

I wish you said about inspire 2. Because Phantom 4 and Mavic 2 is practically the same 1 inch semi pro. Inspire 2 is truly extreme pro.

Hello everyone. I previously owned a MPP and just bought the Mavic 2pro with Flymore a couple of days ago at Best Buy. Then I came across a review from Brett Garamella, "Evo 2 vs DJI Mavic 2." I really like that the camera is interchangeable. There are some other features with the evo II with improved camera specs but may require proxies/cropping to handle the higher resolution footage. My question to you is, should I return the Mavic 2 pro and Flymore kit for a restocking fee of 240 dollars and put money down on the Evo II Pro? That is the only camera feature I like right now. I eventually would like to do roof inspections and work towards a dual system includes infrared technology. I am currently studying for my part 107. I love photography and would really like to get into cell tower/roof inspections. I am very satisfied with the Mavic 2 pro but at the 2K level, I am hoping that I bought something that is somewhat future proof and will do what I want. Thank you so much for any help on my dilemma!

Just subscribed to your channel. I’m impressed by how well you explain in detail each drone you reviewed. I wanted a higher end drone that was more professional for photography & video & was torn between the mavic pro 2 & mavic pro platinum but being a somewhat beginner chose the mavic pro platinum because it was on sale. I’m curious to know your thoughts about it & anything I need to be aware?

Should I wait to see what modifications are necsary before investing so much money?

I have a serious question. And im in need quick answer if possible. I am moments away from buying a drone. I have only one function I need it to preform anything else is gravy. I want the mini because of price because I don’t really care that much about picture quality. I need the drone to attach a small hook to the bottom so I can attach a fishing line to it and fly it out past the breaking waves at the beach then turn 180⁰ and drop the line in the water. It will be around 4oz plus the weight of the line flying about 10 to 20 feet high. And no more than 300 yards. Will the mini be capable of this task? Can you recommend something else if not and around the same price range.
