CHEAP VS EXPENSIVE Motors for FPV Drones. Which is Better?

CHEAP VS EXPENSIVE Motors for FPV Drones. Which is Better?

After flying both premium and economy motors on my FPV Drones for the last 5 years, it was finally time to put them to the test! Could I tell the difference in performance?

Get some of these amazing Emax motors here:

What most people fail to realise is, if your a shit pilot, your still going to be a shit pilot with £100+ motors or a £500+ quad.

What kind of drones did you use.

Nice video. I’ve been using the iFlight Zing’s for my builds. Keep up the good work & I hope things get better for you. COVID will end soon. God’s speed.

emax eco is not a cheap motor it’s a budget motor i’d call the orange generic motors the cheapest

Interesting video mate. The emax look great value. Would be good to see an update after you’ve ran them for a while

U should try some Racerstar motors for comparison. Emax are mid range motors.

Great video, very interesting results. I’m not the type of person to be get on the bandwagon or be a "fanboi" but I’m always interested to see if paying the extra money for Mr Steele’s Ethix products is worth it. Just like his $900 drone, the motors doesn’t really justify paying that extra amount for it. I think the extra money is just paying for the privileged of having the name product. Mind you though I would pay the extra dollars of it can help me fly as good as he can, lol.

Think a lot of the time it’s the bearings life span that make the difference. Good video interesting that you struggled to tell which was which. Emax must have done a great job.

I have flown the ethix v1 and v2 mr steele motors and the eco’s aswell the eco’s dont disapoint!! And the bearings last 10x longer then the steele motors, the misses is flying the v1 steele motors on a basher now and i have to say, ethix motors are smoother

For the money you can’t argue that the emax are a great motor. I’d take them and put the money elsewhere

Great vid bud, enjoyed that. Big fan of Hypetrain and iFlight Zings. I won’t be getting Steele’s now.

Love my emax ecos! In your video, the motors sounded quite different. Were you able to hear that as well in person? Great vid, btw. Look forward to more!

I bet the bearings in the emax will outlive the Steele ones too!

Nothing unexpected there…..Put a name of repute to a product and you can name your price…especially if the business is owned by the seller.
I`m not sure if he has his own manufacturing company or if he has them made by an established company…..Whatever applies i`m sure they are good quality motors….but as you proved..so are the Emax at about a third of the price…Bottom line… both will brake if its a bad day…. your 2nd set of the Emax motors will be free…compared to Mr Steele`s price.

I’ve just got the EMAX Eco II 2207 2450kv and got to say I love them! I had the 1st Eco’s as well but these just feel like a totally different build quality! You can tell the magnets are a lot stronger as well. Stop the props a lot faster when cutting so I imagine would improve responsiveness as well. The fact that they’re just as cheap as the 1st version is nuts tbh! Great video!
