Interesting, but I’m not sure I’d buy it, because at the beginning it’d be 1 or 2 hours of playing with it and having fun, but after that I’d probably get bored with it, and as it’s just a toy without any practical use cases (for me) it’d probably regret buying it.
One technical suggestion for the manufacturer: Maybe it’d be a good idea to put the battery in that floating Wi-Fi module and make it easily replaceable (e.g. one in use, another one charging). It’d make that drone useful for people who search for stuff underwater more professionally – those search sessions often take hours/days straight.

  11. Ben Haze on September 8, 2021 at 11:21 pm

That is an expensive toy to loose to tree branches inevitably present at bottom of lakes. Cool gadget although video quality is so-so; interesting review!

I see this as a smaller version of a much larger working futuristic drone prototype that hopefully someday will be used in a global aqua-management of all our water bodies in the world. I vision this drone unit being used not only for underwater exploration and research, but for other important assignments such as retrieval and cleaning up of our waters making them free of polluted debris, trash, junk, vessels, space debris, and even contaminated chemical and radiological weapons and waste containers that were left over and disposed of in our oceans starting from the great world wars until present.

I also have visions of other designs and versions of this vessel helping with various construction projects, including much needed coastal restorations that are being caused by our current rising sea waters, due to natural and man made climate changes, natural weather patterns and events, such as hurricanes, powerful storms, natural ocean tides and currents, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunami’s.

I can foresee this vessel in the future used for underwater farming, both vegetation and other marine life that are needed in the sustainability and preservation of our existing natural aquatic life. This idea really isn’t even on the drawing board yet using underwater drone technology for farming, but I think it would be great if it led us in the direction in to fight world hunger and starvation.

On the other hand, I bet I could think of a few hundred or more Idea’s pertaining to this subject, but I’m not so inclined to blurt them out on Youtube as some of them might be to far fetched or just plain old silly.
The drone in this video reminded me of the "Sea Flyer" vessel from the old school TV series " Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea ". I think on the TV series, the Sea Flyer is actually colored yellow too.

I wouldn’t at all mind if any other Youtuber’s could throw out some of their Idea’s and visions on what a "Water Drone" could turn into, or be used for in the future. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s off the wall or not, it’s all interesting to me. Who knows, Someone might take a few Idea’s from here and make it a reality that could change the world into a better way for all of us.

I think the best part of my comment was that I didn’t mention anything about religion or politics. Thanks for reading Youtuber’s.

"It weights 4lbs or 1.1kg" 🤔 Only in America.

    Lame

  32. rsaxtellartist on September 8, 2021 at 11:47 pm

If the GPS gives you relative orientation, then a digital compass might not be needed, and maybe a sort of grid screen over the thruster ports to keep out weed and gunk, this would be so versatile. I’ll bet the few minor problems you encountered with this model will be addressed in a future model. Good luck!

drones in the air don’t need to be tethered, and can stabilize themselves in wind.

  38. Bolerophon on September 8, 2021 at 11:59 pm

    Wait, its not wireless?🙄

  39. Northern Drone Werx on September 9, 2021 at 12:01 am

"plays a little pirate tune"??? 🤣🤣🤣 I’m guessing this guy has never used an ESC before. That’s the standard tune that any ESC makes (the motors actually) when it connects with the flight controller. I’m a little surprised that they didn’t program a new tune in it’s place. All that work to design and engineer an underwater drone and they didn’t even figure to give it a cool ESC tone.

$500 is steep for this for me. If it had a better camera and light and SD card slot Id be Happier. The App seemed a bit cruddy and had connection issues with my android phone. I got a waterproof case for an I pad and it works awesome. Chasing did get back to me fast and wanted to help me fix the problem. It would cost more to build your own.
