I’ve bought from Banggood when I’ve had no other choice but given how hard it is to get problems rectified with Banggood and the extremely high failure rate of Chinese made FPV electronics, I just can’t use them unless I really have no other option. RDQ has never given me any problems when I get electronics from them that are bad.

  2. EnglishTurbines on March 29, 2021 at 12:28 am

7 Years ago, I used to buy almost everything from HK UK…apart from FPV related stuff….They went downhill fast constantly changing their Website to make it WORSE….The people who run the the HK UK Warehouse now are of very low intelligence and know little to nothing about anything Hobby related it would seem….Stopped using them about 4 years ago, hopeless TBH.
I also use HobbyRC for FPV stuff….Bangood and recently Aliexpress for hard to get parts.

  3. FluidityFPV on March 29, 2021 at 12:29 am

    thanks andy!

Banggood is great if you can wait a few weeks, have also never had an issue with their customer service. i’ve had to cancel a few items due to being out of stock etc over the years but theyre pretty fast with the refunds.

  4. Travis Stevens on March 29, 2021 at 12:30 am

Awesome vid! 99% of my stuff has come from Banggod. I always make sure items are in stock and pay for express shipping an have never had an issue. I wish I knew that PayPal makes the shipping insurance redundant. Would have saved about $300 in shipping insurance 😆 (yes, I order a lot from BG)

  5. Noxoreos on March 29, 2021 at 12:35 am

When buying from Bangood and ship to germany it is actually better to put as much stuff into one order as possible. Most of the orders will have some shipping cost attached to it. Only some are free shipping. Putting multiple items into a single order will save you quite a lot of shipping costs. On the checkout page you can then see what goes together into one package and if something is charging extra shipping then I put it into a different order.
Btw. AliExpress does allow PayPal. My last AliExpress order was a flight controller for my Trashcan and I paid using PayPal – I used PayPal because there was actually a coupon when paid with PayPal. However I find AliExpress to take particularly long in terms of shipping (I’ve seen up to eight weeks and they tell you to wait at least 75 days). I see AliExpress orders go through customs all the time but never on Banggood, yet.
One more thing: I like to order from Banggood, when the item is already in UK or CZ, because shipping then only takes a week to germany and the items are occasionally cheaper on sale from there than from china – for some weird reason shipping is also cheaper most of the time in these cases.

I want to buy from getfpv and I am from uk it is ok.what about custom.

  7. fallononline on March 29, 2021 at 12:37 am

Ok, so waiting to see the build now we got the parts ready to go.

  8. Ryan Hogg on March 29, 2021 at 12:39 am

Mate seriously this happen to me last year when I bought something from hobby king as well

  9. Level Realm on March 29, 2021 at 12:42 am

I bought a twig xl from Quadcopters and the piece of shit set on fire on the bench plugging in a battery. Opened a PayPal dispute which they ignored then it went in there favour. Stay away poor customer service. I understand in this hobby shit happens but I’d only put a handful of pack before it smoked. Now I’m flying a nazgul5 v4. That was from AliExpress and I had it shipped from a warehouse in Spain. Got it in 6 days no customs charges thank you very much

  10. Kunext on March 29, 2021 at 12:43 am

Well in Poland because of VAT Banggood is like only option to dont spend fortune on gear

  11. Chilternflyer on March 29, 2021 at 12:47 am

I never thought that I’d ever give you a thumbs down!. 9 minutes of selling BG?? Great job! I’m also in the UK and I always try to buy from a UK supplier when possible (especially expensive stuff). Reasons being:- Next day delivery, Customer service, WARRANTY and you’re covered by UK consumer laws. I always buy big box items from a UK supplier even if it costs a bit more. My x9d, HDOs, all of my DJI FPV stuff and my TX16s all came from UK retailers. Imagine the hassle of sending a set of goggles back to China if you didn’t like them! PRICES:- Know your prices! Hobbyrc/unmannedtech have beaten BG on price (with your discount coupon) a number of times this year. E.G. TX16s and two different flight stacks. Availability:- HobbyRC delivered my IRC Ghost system 6 weeks before anyone got one from BG. Out of stock: I wanted a particular Torval backpack. HobbyRC got one in for me in and had it delivered in 4 business days. My message is this:- Don’t be blinded by the ‘cheap’ prices when buying from a Chinese website. The days of the traditional local hobby shop are long gone. The new breed of online retailer works a lot harder to retain your business. Show them some love. You’ll regret later when your only option is to buy from China, wait for ages, get clobbered in customs and then get no replies to your warranty claims!

  12. Grand-Master Grouch on March 29, 2021 at 12:47 am

pay pal or use american express. AMEX you have a year to make a claim. they wont even hassle you just give you your money back and then they let their legal team do the digging. I once made a down payment on a brand new faulty Mercedes-Benz. Called AMEX and they told me to park the car back in the dealership and call them back once i did and they would refund my 15k. so i did and they did. since then ive depended on AMEX for fishy feeling transactions.

    Hobbyking not dead 🤣
Me Now I don’t buy at Banggood it’s a bad shipping not free and bad customer service. 😢
I buy at AliEpress and I very Happy. 👍 😁

  15. 1975supermike on March 29, 2021 at 12:53 am

    Brilliant advice

  16. Grim FPV on March 29, 2021 at 12:53 am

Yeah, Banggood has been pretty solid for me.

  17. Dave Storey on March 29, 2021 at 12:54 am

All great advice.. I’ve always had great service from banggood.. if ever something is below par, I send a photo or video and get a prompt refund.. 👍

  18. Brandon Purdy on March 29, 2021 at 12:55 am

75% of my purchases are from Racedayquads. I remember buying the Furibee X215 and the Leader 120 from Gearbest. It took 2 months for the Leader 120 to come in and 3 months for the X215.

  19. 1975supermike on March 29, 2021 at 12:59 am

I used gearbest once their customer services it awful. To this day never used the drone they sent me as it was incomplete.

  20. Em Wintle on March 29, 2021 at 1:00 am

That was super-helpful, thanks! I wasn’t expecting such a nice long list and detailed analysis.

When I built my quad I did an insane amount of shopping around. What’s my time worth? It would have been “cheaper” for me to have gotten all the big name brands from the manufacturer or Amazon in the long run! 🙂

Of course I don’t do that. Oddly, I find the best price for most of my parts from AliExpress and they shocked me by delivering to the US in two weeks—much faster than the four weeks in their estimated shipping time.

  21. mouseFPV on March 29, 2021 at 1:00 am

Anyone in the US, stay the Heck away from Banggood. Just go with RDQ, GetFPV, Pyrodrone, FPVCycle… even Amazon.

  22. Jerry Huling on March 29, 2021 at 1:01 am

Great video. Looking at building my first drone and this helps. Thank you

  23. Kyle Fpv on March 29, 2021 at 1:03 am

Everyone says support local..and i agree. But when local is buying from China anyway and they’ve got nothing in stock…ever!.. just buy from banggood…end of!

  24. cinIALVEspO w on March 29, 2021 at 1:03 am

I’m surprised you haven’t been hit with import duties on brain3d

  25. Sylvan Light on March 29, 2021 at 1:03 am

Brexit will probably mess up the ‘no customs’ duty from China… That perk was a deal between Europe and China I believe.

  26. Cory Smith on March 29, 2021 at 1:04 am

    Thanks for the tutorials Andy!

  27. Accutron S on March 29, 2021 at 1:06 am

From Australia. Banggood is great although they have taken away free post since covid. Takes from 1 to 4 weeks delivery. Any fault with products they usually just send replacements. No need to send stuff back.
Hobby king is also great to deal with. However I only ever use the Australian warehouse because of post cost and delivery speed

  28. CurryKitten on March 29, 2021 at 1:08 am

Good info Andy. I’ve bought loads from Banggood too – with some non-deliveries, but the point of using PayPal fixes it. You open a dispute, you escalate the dispute, the refund comes in. Pretty simple. What did happen to GearBest, for a while, they had a really impressive range of PNF/BNFs than Banggood, but then they had higher prices and wanted everyone to use coupons to get discounts, and then the infamous "in stock" when nothing was in stock and never would be. A shame.

  29. Quad_ Squad on March 29, 2021 at 1:11 am

Thanks for the informative video Andy 😊
Is there anywhere in the UK that can 3D Print FPV components ???🤔

  30. slyplaymike1 on March 29, 2021 at 1:11 am

Living in South Africa Banggood is our only choice….never had a problem with them.

  31. underfloor heating installer on March 29, 2021 at 1:12 am

i only had problem with bangood when they use Hermes .Hermes is rabbish

  32. Cameron on March 29, 2021 at 1:14 am

Hey Andy! Thanks for the mention, it’s much appreciated – I work at Unmanned Tech and we’re always looking to improve our business to be better for everyone involved 🙂

A note re. interacting with creators – the issue I think for most UK shops is that for us to be even remotely competitive, we have to keep our margins super slim. Sometimes it’s genuinely upsetting seeing banggood prices and knowing full well how much they’re making on each item, and knowing that people go there because customs miss a large majority of their shipments (In my experience) or otherwise believe they don’t qualify for tax. That extra 20% would let us get more involved and creative MUCH quicker, but as it stands, to keep people from going to China for everything, it’s a much, much slower growth process and limits our ability to do more collaborative things externally, as much as we’d want to.

That said, we are getting there – we’ve even got the beginnings of a team going now including pilots like SyncFPV and Chewy Flies, so fingers very much crossed it’s onwards and upwards from here for that sort of thing!

Hope you and your viewers are well, and have a good one 👍

    Much love,
    The UMT team ♥️

EDIT: I also just wanted to make a note that Google Shopping isn’t always the best for tracking stock – our Vistas are currently available (and I believe were on the site at the time of making this video judging by our homepage), and if you compare the ex. VAT price to Banggood, you should find that they’re very similar if not even slightly cheaper sometimes on our site. It’s the VAT that gets ya!

  33. MinaExperiment on March 29, 2021 at 1:15 am

For us Nordic peeps the store got most stuff needed for any FPV build. It is located in Norway. Has thousands of RC and hobby products.

  34. AgentAstro 536 on March 29, 2021 at 1:15 am

the first time i bought from banggood i nought a novice 3 flymore pack and they missed 4 batteries and they would only give me £20 instead of 40 each battery is £10 each

  35. sulphurcrest fpv on March 29, 2021 at 1:15 am

In Australia I was able to use PayPal to purchase an inst360go from AliExpress. Great price too.

  36. Aaron Unruh on March 29, 2021 at 1:16 am

    Loving this series

  37. TheEviling on March 29, 2021 at 1:16 am

This is a great video, but i feel the results of Brexit negosiations that are currently ongoing might make an impact on those buying options for those of us left in the EU. I really hope HobbyRC will remain a possibility for me to buy from, they are great 🙂

  38. MC's Creations on March 29, 2021 at 1:16 am

    Great video, Andy! 😊
About AliExpress, I had some problems with them… I would say: NEVER use their free shipping.
Anyway, stay safe and flying there! 🖖😊

  39. nistax on March 29, 2021 at 1:16 am

Good experiences with bangood , although I always try to go with EU priority shipping since that’s delivered by ups or DHS ecr odherwise the free shipping is delivered thrue isuall postall service which is trash in my country . Never had any customs too

  40. underfloor heating installer on March 29, 2021 at 1:18 am

Hobby rc is great but not much choicese

  41. reynolds81 on March 29, 2021 at 1:18 am

I put together a list of all the uk retailers after I got fed up of banggood, the cost isnt an issue but waiting on stuff was getting tedious, if I break something I want to be back in the air in a few days and not a few weeks, anyhow a new uk shop drone authority is currently my go to site for stuff, they seem to only sell quality gear though so those looking for a bargain should stick to banggood

  42. Cirilo Escandon on March 29, 2021 at 1:21 am

You should bring back the Shopping and buying videos 🙂

  43. nazEffex on March 29, 2021 at 1:21 am

No disrespect to you I follow your channel as I enjoy FPV, but if you don’t already know here’s a heads up… Aliexpress has a very good policy if goods have been lost or not as described 99.9% you’ll get your money back in full and no need to return goods, they also do offer PayPal when you go to checkout but you have to pay extra for this service, I have also found that shopping around on Aliexpress you can find better deals/cheaper than Banggood, I myself use to shop a lot on Banggood but started noticing Aliexpress has better prices and rarely shop on Banggood anymore, I actually don’t understand why creators always recommend buying from Banggood it’s not always the best place to shop. Anyway just some info and hope this helps somebody.

  44. Richard Heed FPV on March 29, 2021 at 1:21 am

Well covered Andy. I too spent a lot of money with banggood. I now use Ali Express. They are way cheaper than banggood for components. Sometimes up to 50%. They’ve sold single parts for years and now accept PayPal. I’ve had no problems over 100s of purchases.

  45. Jack Crymble on March 29, 2021 at 1:22 am

I always check HobbyRC first before buying. Mike’s a proper gentleman and customer service is second to none!

  46. Peter LEŠNIK on March 29, 2021 at 1:22 am

Andy 18 $ shipping costs from eu based warehouse to eu based address is kind of ridiculous, what they charge.

  47. underfloor heating installer on March 29, 2021 at 1:22 am

    Great review

  48. Alfred Broda on March 29, 2021 at 1:22 am

I don’t quite understand how using a 3D printer you already have could be more expensive than buying and shipping parts? Or was that just about buying a 3D printer that would bloat the build budget? If I need a part I find printing one the cheapest and fastest way to get it…

  49. Alex Eadington on March 29, 2021 at 1:22 am

50 50 strike rate with bangers. Horrific customer services and i have never received any monetary value in terms of resolution to any complaint. Unless you cant get stock through other vendors stay away. basically don’t use Banggood. ever unless its your only option!
